lucylee and Twins' Mom gave us examples of being gracious yesterday. lucylee served as Grand Marshall of her school's parade and waved to all, making a gracious speech. Twins' Mom offered gracious hospitality to an expected 50 people in her home and yard for the Jewish New Year.

It seems as though the weekend often brings opportunities for grace and poise. What can you do today to offer some graciousness to family, visitors and community this weekend or beyond? Can you make your home more comfortable and welcoming? Could you plan for upcoming moments and visitors, like blessed is planning for the arrival of houseguests from France? Good morning, blessed, and I see Dee's light.

My graciousness this weekend will extend to dsecondbil and little niece, who will be here early tomorrow morning. Dbil is going to help paint our front bathroom and dd will keep little niece occupied while he's here - probably with My Little Pony on tv. I can be gracious to them by getting the deep-clean of the tub/shower surround done and any fumes whisked away in the fan today. That will finish any cleaning I'd planned.

We also expect ds' family sometime this weekend.

On Sunday I've promised to help lead the songs during worship, and then more graciousness will be expected at the minister's dd's wedding shower. If I can manage it, I'll spend some time on an attractive wrap for her present to make her gift table more gracious.

So grateful that is a new day. Think everything is good on all fronts, Sunny. The dizziness only lasted Wednesday night???? Kind of think it may have been sinus affecting my Eustachian tubes. I can surely do without that awful feeling. At first I almost thought I'd ask dh to go alone, then felt like I could at least go. Then had thoughts of having him take me to urgent care. But slowly felt better. Who knows? If it had lasted there's no doubt I'd have been to the doctor. Couldn't fake that one.

Today is a new day for dh as well and he can hopefully put bad thoughts & feelings behind him. Yes, dfriends my jewelry was found. I've even got a (better fitting) wedding ring and diamond on!

Going up in a few minutes to try to do a couple lol -if the laundry room is not busy. It will be so nice to have this laundry room 30 seconds from us next year! Think I've said that more than once. Know it will be a much easier decision for me to go do it then.

Have to go to one of two towns to W mart and G oodwill today. We're taking another couple to dinner and my back seat is loaded for Goodwill. Then they want to go to the casino in another town -25 miles away. It will be a good change & distraction for dh I'm sure. But I know he is far from done with the situation with our dneighbor. There's lots to be done regarding his motorhome & car, etc, etc that's here and other issues.

Slept poorly through the middle of the night but then didn't wake up till 8:49 when dh's fire pager went off -or I might still be sleeping?

Plan of attack for the rest of the morning:
1: Sort laundry
2: Go to laundry room -use the washer twin
3: Come back here to do up the dishes (that never got touched yesterday)
4: Go back to the laundry room -fold the loads of (now) clean laundry
5: Come back here & put laundry away
6: Fix dh's lunch (and mine)
7: Pick up mail
8: Go to Goodwill
9: Go to W mart
10: Go to bank -deposit dh's paycheck
11: Come home, put groceries away
12: Wash hair

Kitchen counters sink etc. Needs attn. H may have to work Sat. So have some time here to pay attn to things I have ignored. ToddlerN will be here today this afternoon but I am not sure if she will come in the a. m. or not.

Wanted to go to the used book store but called the lib. First getting the book I wanted from them it is requested.

Yesterday I was so busy whining about. BS # forgot to take my afternoon long term dose. have. Not just forgotten a dose before sigh but the good news the number was not all that bad no worse than the # this a.m. when I did take it on time before bed what is up with that?! So wierd..

Last. Night was pizza night I made it.

Good Morning all.

Had a neighbor (BO) surprise me yesterday with flowers and a get well card. They just came back to the park so just found out about my surgery. It was nice to catch up on their travels and I appreciated the gesture. I was even happier that I had gotten the dishes and counters washed earlier. The table and pass thru were cluttered but not too bad.

Glad you found your jewelry box, Dee. I know how frustrating that can be.

Happy that your wireless now works, Kathryn. It is frustrating when technology doesn't behave. Even more frustration when you have to move around to get a signal. Our new ISP is working well. I still have to hook up my printer via Wifi but I print so seldom that plugging in the cord is really no biggie.

Time to hop in the shower as the pharmacy called and DH's script is ready so we need to go get that. Will probably pick up a few groceries and maybe stop at H4H to see if I can find any door knobs for laundry room cabinets.'

Forgot to add today's chicken story the hens are well trained better than some people's dogs in the area! I step out the door and call them home from wandering across and down the street they come running home from bug hunting adventures!

Popped out of bed early this morning. It was a beautiful dawn and not too cold so I wanted pictures from the balcony.

Then I read a little bit during my tea and chocolate. Put fresh sheets on the bed, touched up a chip in my bathroom floor tiles, ate breakfast, did the weekly kitchen chores, processed the mail and then s2s.

I need to head over to dd's to do the gardening. She's out but she reminded me I have a key to her place (plus all the gardening stuff is outside, anyway) so I'll go over and it will look pretty when she gets home.

And the lovely Rosh Hashanah New Year luncheon turns into clean up Friday here, LOL. Or do nothing.and.relax Friday? I tallied up the numbers and we ended up with "only" 37 and that included 6 kids under 13. Of those, three came late after lunching elsewhere, and two of the three that came late were the last ones to leave. There was a group in the yard at one point blowing the shofar - we have a large one that is nearly 3 feet long and I told one of the little girls that she could borrow it to blow for Yom Kippur and she was thrilled. (Do you think Shofar blowing is covered by the homeowners assn rules?) At the end, 5 of us were out on the patio by the firepit (no fire) in the sun and shade with a wonderful little breeze.

Dh and I had an awful night last night w Moses and this in and out stuff. Don't know how many times he had us up barking to go out in the night. DH was up with him for awhile and came back to bed in the middle of the night, then he (Moses, not dh) almost immediately started barking again - I think it was 3 that I got up opened our patio door and slept on the couch until I woke up at 8 with dh gone to work. On top of that, my hips IT band were hurting from all the standing and work I've done, so I had the roller out and rolled hips a couple of times during the night to help what sleep I was getting.

Hi (my name):
I know dwife will probably write a lovely thank you note to you and your dh but I feel that I want to personally thank you for the wonderful time we had yesterday. I know that you, and I think dh (wink, wink), worked pretty hard to prepare such a great meal and to make everyone feel at home in your lovely new home. You succeeded beyond measure.
I do feel especially pleased to be included in the group of strays that you call your extended family.
Thank you again and I hope to see you soon.

Today I need to get to dmom's to visit, deliver meals etc. but that's all that is on the agenda. I ate so much challah for breakfast that I feel bloated now, and haven't done anything else but read the paper and sit here. Still need to walk ddogs and get started on anything here....

Twins' Mom, thank you for sharing that gracious thank-you note. Just ideal.

Nancy, ours come better for HRH than for me, since he is the "treat" guy! Do you ever scatter corn (scratch)? Back when I used to do that sometimes, our hens followed me like ducklings.

The bathroom is about as deep-cleaned and naked as it has been since the formal remodel in '87. I noticed a stain on the inside of the door - one of those things you just look past when you see the surface so often. A little worried about cleaning it because of the type of surface. Delighted to find the Seventh Gen spray multi-surface cleaner did an excellent job on that and then I just wiped again with water. Today it looks great.

Torn between ready-made cabinet above toilet or unfinished to stain for a more exact visual match to the vanity cabinets. The ready-made will be so much more sleek, with easy-open doors and perfectly smooth surfaces I probably can't manage with the unfinished. We'll see.
