Congratulations to you, your DS + DDIL, Harriet! :D :D :D [/coloCr]

Just a quick C. I. We're about to have dinner. Dunno where my day's gone.  I have 1 LOL to dry, am trying to write 1 letter next, and will work on light housework prior to bedtime, as DD and DGS come on Sunday now, instead of Saturday.

I'm being gracious to my pen pals, by slowly answering them 1 by 1. I've put 3-D stickers, each with 1 jewel on them, for my down's syndrome pen pal, who is a young adult woman now. I write her Dmom, too. I know she'll go ape over the stickers. :P

I'll try to BBL, to report how much I've done or that I didn't do much; either way, I'll try to be gracious!

Got password updated. Yahoo google had a hacker - security issues that is why tne net was down. My friend said she had trouble getting on line too.

Nancy, I didn't know Yahoo and Google had a hacker. :o Should ALL Yahoo users change their passwords ASAP? :?:

I called the DD of our old neighbors, who recently got put into a nursing home. I left a message on her Voice Mail, how I wanted their nursing home's address so I could send them a card AND we could go visit them. He had a serious stroke and she has Alzheimer's or Dementia. :( We've known them since 1975, so want to visit them soon.

Kathryn, I've heard that about Pyrex before, too. :( Also, the news showed where it's not uncommon for glass-top tables to shatter into a zillion pieces all over the kitchen or dining room floor.

Harmony, Sorry to hear about that email with all the tabs, etc.. Sounded like a big headache. :(

Twins', That was a wonderful email. Thanks for sharing. :D

Sunny, Glad "everyone" isn't mad at DGD. :) Accidents DO happen.

(((Booksaver))), I hope everything works out tomorrow.

MT, How sweet to get a card and flowers from your neighbor. :D

RR, Did you get some good news at the dentist's office? :?: Hope so.

Have a great night, Everyone! My Saturday card in my office is "SATURDAY SUCCESS"!

Enjoyed my reunion tonight very much -- probably only about 10-12 of us (plus spouses) showed up, though, for the game -- and out of those, 4 of us grew up in the same church! But it was a lot of fun to sit together and catch up a little bit. I did sit with my best buddy and her husband, and we mostly talked all the way through the game (a LOT of it about reconciling estate matters. Her husband lost his mom a few years ago, and his dad had passed away some time before that. Dbil is their lawyer too, and when she asked how dbil is "doing" -- re: his own recent unpleasantness, you know -- then I started telling her how we think he is dragging his feet on this stuff, and asked how her husband and his siblings settled their things.)
And of course, everyone was "making on" over me about the grand marshall thing, LOL... my night in the spotlight.

DS called w/good news re: upcoming festival -- he's getting more work (filling in w/an additional group) and wanted to know if I could add a night to his hotel room.
I have talked to the people at the hotel twice and they have assured me that I have TWO rooms... but for some reason, when they send e-mails, they apparently cannot send ONE email that has BOTH rooms showing together. One room is for two nights only; the other for four nights. Is this the problem??? I just feel kind of uneasy because I have two separate emails, but both have the same confirmation # -- plus the original email from a month or so ago, when I first booked, which does show 2 rooms. So maybe that is okay? Good grief. I am NOT going to call back tonight, however, b/c I have bothered "Ramone" twice already. Surely if they can book me W-Sat, they will not have trouble giving me a room W-Th. Those can't be major busy nights for hotels.

So nice to see some of the girls on the Homecoming court. I taught some of their parents, and one in particular, I am sooo sooo proud of... she is from a broken home (but I think she has good relationships with both parents), and one of her parents came from an unbelievably dysfunctional broken home. When I had the dad in class, I immediately recognized the name, and asked if he/she was related to ____, a friend of my dad's. Well... the family name had unfortunately been in the paper w/some legal matters, and I immediately saw this flash of maybe fear, "oh no," or something, you know. When he confirmed yes... why did I ask... and I explained, "Oh, I graduated w/your cousin, and his dad and my dad have been friends all their lives!" I never mentioned the parents w/problems, you know, and I think I made a friend for life. He never fails to greet me with a big smile, often apologizes for his behavior in class (which needs no apology) and when his daughter was in my class, she immediately thought she was going to like me, too, -- and tonight I hugged the dad and told him I was so proud of him, he had raised such a wonderful girl, and I was so happy for her being on the court, she said, "I love you, Mrs. Lucylee." I told her I loved her too. It was just really nice to see him get to escort her on such a special night, and know he's grown up to be a fine father. Moments like this are what make teaching in a small town rural school such a meaningful experience.
Tomorrow is another day.

Just curious to see if a post will go through, evidently we lost Saturday's thread. I've been busy closing out the month and the quarter and came here. Phone call with Sunny, she tells me it disappeared on her too. Anyway, I won't post any more in case this is making something worse...sure hope not..... Hope everybody is having a nice Saturday.

Thought it was just my computer at first; tried to come to the Village a couple of hours ago. Just now could get in, but todays threads are all missing.
