Speaking of significant clues, ya'll totally did NOT hazard a guess to my question yesterday as to who drove me around yesterday afternoon!

It was dd! She is a learner now, with a level one license. She was so transparently happy when she came around the corner after taking her test. Big grin.

We will possibly regret waiting on the driving instruction until this past summer. (And only then finding out that the waiting list for in-vehicle instruction was another 6 weeks beyond that). If she does decide on a summer internship she won't be able to just drive herself. Unless there is a chance of carpool, which would be quite doubtful, one of us will have to both drop off and pick up. I'm sure those with a driver's license on their resume will start looking pretty good to interviewers at this age. She turned in her draft resume yesterday to the engineering program at the school. They are setting up classes in internship searches. Her ddad is against the internship concept because they are all in big city and dd is one of the youngest.

I s2s, did stretches, yoga moves/Pilates, I need to run b/c I stripped the bed sheets, bleached them, they dried, and I'm trying to make the bed B/4 DH returns from Costco/the store, so I can "surprise" him when he crawls into the bed tonight! Sh-h-h... It's a secret!

RRose, so sorry about the poor student. So sad. I didn't understand though, was he the one who erred or did he come in the way of someone else with rage?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SUNNY AND CATHY.
I did try to call Sunny today but as usual I kept fading in and out. I'm so annoyed with my cell phone coverage. It will show lots of bars on my phone but still fades. I can't get it inside my house and I go out on the porch to talk. We have a resale company for our service, they use AT&T towers and buy minutes from them. DH uses so many minutes because of his job that to have a regular contract would be way too expensive. So we get unlimited talk and text for $36 / month. I guess you get what you pay for, huh.

Desk chores done, then stopped at 2 banks. My favorite stop after that, I got books at the library! I haven't had any for a few weeks and was missing my reading. One book I took out was paperback with a badly worn cover and the clerk said she'd note it on my takeout computer thing so I didn't get "written up". I wonder what that means? I'm always very careful with the books I borrow, never dogear pages etc. but I wonder what they do with a person who damages a book? Do they eventually not let them borrow? Yikes! Will have to be careful after this to make sure they note worn books. Most of the time I go through the self service machine and get no notes. Good to know.

I've been settled in at my desk this afternoon to take care of the family bookkeeping for the month. I also need to get my calendar up to date and have some papers to file. Which reminds me.....Thank you Elizabeth, for your post last evening. I will check with ddil when she gets home from school today about the sales tax on registrations!

MT, we had to do the same with our pantry cabinet not too long ago. Nice to see it organized again.

Harriet, I had thought about your dd when I read your post about riding with someone, just didn't have a chance to come back and say, "Did dd have her lic?". WTG, I know she'll do well! Oh, and I hope HRH's test is good.

I asked DH to buy underpants for me, at Costco, because my old brand kept falling apart and there are only ONE pr. left, BUT they've lasted me about 3 - 4 YEARS, so that's good! He came home, without buying panties, because they only had silky pantie-girdle type or silky-stretchy bikini ones.

I went to my drawers, which is a bureau from pre-war era, from DGAunt. I tried on panties, fit into 3 different sizes, so am "surmising" how different brands run smaller or larger. I'm washing underwear today, counted them all, which DO FIT, and there are 25 pairs! THEN, I went into the drawer, which has 2 prs. sexy lace ones, silky black with lace, stretchy panty-girdle type, stretchy bikinis, brief stretch-cottons, and WOW! MORE underwear! Told DH it's a "good thing" he did not purchase underwear for me.

Also, I have 2 different sizes of Jockeys and I'm not even counting them yet, because they're smaller than what I wear now. I did find the smallest pair I have, which is size 7. I guess they're going to be my "goal" panties. When they fit, I'll know it's time to go buy size 7 panties. I'm so thankful I found undies in the bottom drawer, under DH's socks and underwear, where I keep things, which are long johns or too small of bras and underwear. I feel like I have a huge surplus now, which is good.

I don't "need" any socks, or underwear, nor bras, nor tops, nor jeans or pants, no-no-no new things to wear. The only thing I'd love to get is something in royal blue to wear on "Blue Day," to help celebrate the 12th man, for the Seattle Seahawks. I have turtlenecks, tees, pullover sweaters, sweater sets, cardigans, tank tops, lounge pants, pajamas, robes, nightgowns, sleep tank, and I'm really quite set for a wardrobe because I've saved Goodwill bargains, which did not fit at the time, that fit now, and saved clothes for years, which is a good thing.

I used to wear 22/23 or 2X-3X, but wear Medium/Large/some XL's now and size 16-W - 18. I've blessed some fuller figured ladies with so many jumpers, and nice clothes, too. It's been so nice, over the span of 10 years, to donate what I didn't "need" or no longer fit into, to bless others.

And DD has given me clothes, (like a double-breasted black wool coat, with a hood, from Goodwill for $10!), DH buys tops and things at Costco when he goes out, and I'm just not suffering for any wardrobe needs at this time. It's a nice feeling to know I don't need to go shopping, too. I'm very lucky and it's nice. I'm very appreciative of this. There's no stress, worrying about buying this or that.

I need to run, dry underwear, and start some more. I didn't mean to go off on a tangent about underwear and clothes, but I was absolutely blown away- knowing I'd asked DH to purchase me underwear- when I fit into 25 pairs already. I thank my lucky stars he did NOT buy ANY! Overkill is what it would have been!

Rosie, I saw that on the Phoenix news on my iPhone about your former student. How sad. I think he must be the one you have told me about and that you were always in touch with his Mom. Bad things happen.

Well, you know me - if someone mentions it, I have to have it! I just ordered the larger cream Hipster. That will be good for me for the spring training games when I don't like to have a bunch of "stuff" to haul around. (Which they don't like you bringing a lot of stuff into the stadium anyway.) I had bought a larger one of another brand when we went to Sweden several years ago, but this is better for just local events where I don't really want to haul the big one.

If the first three paragraphs looked as if they were directed to RR, they were! I guess I should just call her since we haven't talked for awhile.

Back from round of errands....didn't get car washed or get to office supply store but did everything else. All in all a productive day. Picked up kabobs at the grocery for our supper tonight since dh will be home (again!)

I actually think I heard the garage door open a minute ago - he may be on the phone in the car.

Ddil emailed that she's been in the hospital 1 week, had 3 surgeries for Occipital Nerve Blocks, for headaches. She said the surgeries were on the front of her head and back of her head. She was hoping to return home today. She said DGD-21-months was standing in her high chair, being "adventurous" and fell and broke her arm. She's in a 1/2-cast now. Poor little girl. Poor Mommy! I've got a card out, to send her, with a little letter, comics to make her LOL, and try to cheer her up. I feel so helpless because they're about 3 hours away. So Dson, and the 4 oldest teenager boys help a lot, so that's nice. The more hands the better, so that's a very good thing with having a larger family. 6 boys, 1 girl, and Dmom & Ddad.

I got so many letters today. One gal sent a Saint Jude prayer card, but I've got one, so I can "bless" someone else, by sending them one, or pass it onto DD. The letters were all very good, sweet, interesting, and full of so much news. One gal sent a George Burns quote, about Autumn, on a card with falling leaves in different colors. Sweet of her to think of me.

I got out some nice computer paper, with a border of mums and other flowers, to write computer letters on, which will make the task go quicker. I can say more in less time, too, plus it won't wear out my fingers and wrist. It's more legible than handwriting, too, which mine gets sloppy as time goes on, the more I write.

I love kabobs, Twin's Mom, but DH doesn't like them, so we don't have them. However, if we're at a pot luck or BBQ, at somebody else's house, I do get them and relish them so much. I think DH doesn't like making them, because of having to stick everything on, then cooking it, then trying to get everything off to eat them. You've been productive!

Norma, I hope your Sadie and Willis get better, too!

I found this young homemaker's struggle with perfectionism interesting. She happens to be Mormon. I think she describes a quite universal reaction to other well-meaning women in a community trying to help - but seeming perfect either by accident or worried design - and their reaction to her is classic as well. Oh, the apologies and excuses because the house is not right, never right, always worried.

Got my own grocery shopping done, so it was okay that I missed the opportunity with HRH.

Picked up from pharmacy 2.

Let the hens out for a hunt and grass-explore after HRH had mowed the back yard.

Little niece is sick, and had to be picked up from school today. So dd is sad, as the two cousins will miss their babysitting fun time tomorrow night.
