Just finished up the dishes. Think I'll run into town and get the mail. Keep waiting for something to come giving us the lowdown on our health care for 2015 -it's sure not sounding good, according to the media.

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
I totally agree, Harmony. DD is also a teacher and laments so much of the common core stuff.
Absolutely is wondering how kids will get along in adult hood and how much they are being damaged when they just don't 'get it'. Say nothing about the struggle for adults in their lives trying to help them now with all this -when they learned completely differently. As for the cursive writing -we all can think of times we've needed that in adulthood. Wonder what they'll do when some of those forms say: PRINT your name on this line and then SIGN your name on this line? Often hear dd and her colleagues lament over, "Whatever happened to 'teachable' moments?" They aren't really allowed those anymore either.

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
Hello Dear Ladies,
Warm Weather here.
Sorry I've been MIA for awhile. Have had a houseful of sick people here lately. Doc says it's allergies and blames the crazy weather. Missed some days of work because I couldn't talk out loud. Dson 18 still has a ear infection. He has to go back Monday and if it isn't gone then he's going to see a specialist. Dson 26 is sick too, and plans on moving to NC in two weeks.
Hoping we all feel good so that we can do our family dinner on Sunday the 12th.
Dson 23 is working all kinds of hours, some overnight shifts, some long 14 hour days. He says he is exhausted.
Other than that life is just rolling on. The house still needs attention. I keep the dishes, laundry and cooking done but it is hard to go beyond that right now.

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
Not a lot accomplished here, but ds & I walked 2 miles. Played w/dgs a while. S/S both toilets. Did 5-min. exercise routine. Bible reading. Ate. (more than once).
Need to s2s.
It is coming a flood here. Makes me want to curl up and read my book... and/or nap.
So sorry for all the sickness at your house, Sadie! Hope everyone feels much better SOON!
I've been following all these posts on Common Core. I am just sooo glad I don't have anyone in school right now. I don't know about our elementary grades, but I know middle school parents who are tearing their hair out over it.
Also thinking about add meds... dh said the other day, "I hope they don't try to put (dgs) on those meds when he starts school..." We were talking about how impossible it is for him to sit still for any length of time -- for church or a ballgame or something like that. OTOH, when he gets involved with some activity, he is EXTREMELY focused... working a puzzle, or lining up his cars or blocks Just Like He Wants Them. He gets very upset if he is interrupted in the middle of some little "project" he has started. So... MAYBE... when he is given an assignment in school, that will be something he will focus on as well. I know this is a long time off, and he IS only two years old... and * hopefully * they will have him in a 3-year-old daycare program at least a few days a week next year. That will help him learn more about sitting and listening, I think/hope!
(((Twins)))
I guess I will go s2s. Car place still hasn't called, Mr. Pessimist (DH) says, "They WON'T call you; you'll have to call THEM... we've dealt with them before..."
* sigh * I will wait until tomorrow morning, though, b/c they told me the part would take a couple days to arrive.
Waving to ALL! Hope you have a good rest-of-the-day.
* OH * Re: that very worrisome conversation that I had with ddil the other day -- ds told me today, "As soon as I talked to (ddil) after that, she told me she had said too much and she knew you would worry." DS assured me there was nothing to worry about.

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
Home from errand run....went to bank for cash, post office to mail pkg to dd, then did a walk through Michaels. After that stopped off at Staples for printer cartridges, filled the gas tank of the car and bought cold bottled water. Then to car wash (did some Armor-alling of the dash and area around driver while going through - I think that was one of Flylady's suggestions long, long ago?) and used their excellent vacuum cleaner to vacuum out car. And then to grocery and liquor store for a bottle of wine, and home again. Very productive trip.
I hate going to the grocery when I'm hungry! I bought P ublix sushi for my supper. If I'm still hungry I'll finish off the chili from the weekend.

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
I have to get an early start tomorrow - must p/u dmom and dbro at 9 a.m. so will need to be getting away from home a little past 8 a.m. And I was up early this morning so that's conducive to getting to sleep early, I hope.
I am going to go ahead and walk ddogs and do p.m. routine - what I do of it, at least. I don't know that I will check in tomorrow, depends on what time I get home tomorrow evening, I think.

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
I am s2s.
Flipped washer/dryer loads for dh -- he is doing his towel marathon.
WTG, Twins! You've gotten a lot done. IKWYM about going to the grocery store when you're hungry.
Hope things go well tomorrow.
Car place never called, as dh predicted. Of course, again, maybe the part is expected to arrive in the morning, and they are not going to call until it's in their hands.
This puts me in a bad way re: tomorrow's plans, b/c our local library is having that annual author's event, and I'd like to go, sent in a "maybe" RSVP, and dfriend who hosts it wrote back and told me to bring dmom, too, if I could make it.
Tried to call dmom earlier; she has not called back.
I need a nap while dh is out. Then I will call dmom again.
Also never talked to dbil again re: Saturday's plans.
What do y'all bet that the minute I doze off the phone will start ringing???

Re: "WAY TO GO WEDNESDAY"!
Drought conditions hit close to home tonight. DNephew that lives 2 miles from us was baling hay when the baler caught fire. I saw the fire as I was taking LO to Karate classes. There was already several fire trunks onsite and I meet 3 more fire trucks headed to DNephews home during my 2 miles drive to our little town. I visited with DNephew wife to make sure they were Okay and didn't need anything. After karate lessons I went by their place. She said the fire burned a couple thousand round bales, but no life was lost. Thankfully there was zero wind so they were able to contain the fire within a couple hundred acres. I counted 8 fire trucks onsite. There were probably more but it was hard to see in the thick smoke.
LO is doing evening cards. We read one book before Karate practice. He still has 2 more books to read and test on. Bedtime is in 35 minutes so he isn't going to be able to finish them tonight.
