What are you not freaking out over today?

Nancy is no longer freaking out over a jeep purchase her dh may make, and instead considering jeep date possibilities like drive-ins and pumpkin buying trips.

I'm not freaking out over 6 people driving in today and not nearly as much done as I'd wanted, roofers making a potential problem for their stay-over, and certainly not enough hours in the day today. Also I ate a hot dog yesterday that made me swell up like a puffer fish. But I'm not worried. I'm not freaking out. No, not me!

Well, I'm (trying) not to freak out over my weight. Think I'm now just about what I weighed at my last Dr's appointment in May. Hopefully when I get to FL I'll get out and walk more???? Trying to institute the "2-minute rule" that Lady M talked about a while ago. Takes me 2 minutes to get out the door to the car. I don't really like walking near dd's house -it's on a side road (dead end) but there's a lot of traffic along it for some reason. So generally we drive to one of the lakes in Lakeland that have a walking trek around it -and lots of people.

I was up early today. Have had meds and made the bed. Next up is breakfast and a cup of coffee.

Dark in here -we've been pulling all the shades as it's so cold out -trying to keep a little heat in.

Swear I hear a red-wing blackbird, but I thought they were all gone.

Dh has a 2-minute dentist appointment at 10:45 so I'll go into town with him and cash his paycheck at the ATM while he's in there.

Trying not to freak out about 10 a.m. appt downtown for which I should be suitable attired....and it's 8 a.m.

I need to wrap up getting house ready for dcleaning lady, s2s and walk ddogs and be out the door and I'm so tired from the long day yesterday. On top of that I got home late and very hungry and, even worse than Harriet's hot dog, ate a lot of heavy pizza.

And I'm off....be back later today.

I'm not freaking out over a Thanksgiving service & sermon that isn't written (Thanksgiving is Sunday here!)

I'm not freaking out over 10 people for dinner on Monday (and everything has to be bought by Sunday because stores are closed here.)

I'm not freaking out over needing to call the insurance broker.

I'm not freaking out over needing to get to the pool today.

I'm not freaking out over swollen glands and sore throat that comes and go depending on how much vitamin C is in my system. (And makes me wonder if I should swim.)

Today is a vast day without any external demands on my time except to empty the car of the stuff to go to ds's (I got it out of the living room by storing it in the car, the ultimate stash and dash!) Tomorrow is also wide open so this is a chance to get a lot done. But I also want to get at least one swim in, preferably two to make this luxury pool membership worthwhile. I could have chosen to swim somewhere at $4 - 6 a time, so I need to go 15 times a month if I want to 'break even'. That won't happen but I'm hoping that once I start taking aquafit classes, I'll go more automatically and that will also make the price worthwhile.

The apartment looks good so very little cleaning needs to be done. Laundry is on my to-do list today but that's easy.

Think I have been known to use this method once or twice -especially since moving here -and it's even easier now that we have a trunk and all is hidden.

I'm not freaking out over hotel reservations. I have gone ahead and made reservations for two nights. Then I printed out info on a couple of alternatives, depending on how I'm moving down the pike. Have everything printed out, along with directions to home of dfriend who is riding with me. Now I'm trying not to print as the "ink is low" warning has come up and I'll be doggoned if I'm going to buy ink at this point. So one thing to do I suppose is to get at the council minutes and send them to the church secretary so she can print it out today. So, I AM NOT FREAKING OUT OVER GETTING THEM DONE IN TIME!! And I have to leave in about 40 minutes to go with dh to the dentist.

Not freaking out about rain weather is great, but thevjeepmmhas a hard top! Not freaking out about a devo have some in the e-reader and ones with Pages in the shelf. Not freaking out about the restarts on the knit and crochet projects it seems to be sop at this point ! Lol! Have a great Fri. Every one.

Good morning, villagers ~
Today will be mostly about preparing for tomorrow's sewing group meetings. I'm not freaking out about that.

The first meeting will be fun, our normal monthly educational meeting. A local fabric store owner will be bringing a trunk show of embroidery designs and ideas for gifts. I saw a preview last night at her store. So many pretty things! I don't have an embroidery machine (nor do I want one) but I was able to take a page of notes and sketches for projects that can be done on a regular sewing machine, either combining fabrics or using simple decorative stitches.

The second meeting tomorrow will be the board meeting and it will not be fun. I'll get through it, and then I can focus my attention on getting ready for sewing camp next week.

I have to give a bit of a wary side-eye to the organizers of the sewing camp. They have dropped a little hint that they will be adding a couple new games to the weekend. Um ... I'm not going to sewing camp to play games, I want to sew, sew, sew!

I had a wonderful visit with a couple friends yesterday afternoon. I worked with one of them for several years at a community theater. He and his family are moving to Arizona and they won't have any family left in this area, so I probably won't ever see him again. We had fun reminiscing about projects we worked on together. Bittersweet conversation.

Oh the other friend Z at coffee yesterday gave the funniest review of a musical she saw at a nearby community theatre. The show was Into the Woods which, if you aren't familiar with the story, combines several fairy tale characters into the same plot. My friend said there was unintentional humor because for some reason the director did not put Rapunzel up in a tall tower, she was in a tree. Z called it "Rapunzel on a high tree stump" and when she let down her hair for the witch or prince to climb up, it was not very long at all. She said a little kid behind her asked why Rapunzel didn't just hop down? hahahahahaha I laughed so hard at her description that tears came to my eyes. Rapunzel's trapped on a high tree stump -- her hair's too short and why doesn't she just hop down?!

Editing to add: Mostly I laughed because Z's review hit too close to home. I worked many shows where we thought we were doing something really cool until we saw the end result, then everyone realized too late, "Oh no, that doesn't work AT ALL!" Some really epic set, prop, and costume fails where all you can do is hope the audience is kind ... but small children will always tell you the truth.

I am freaking out about the "worm" LO found this morning while waiting for the school bus. Turns out it was a baby snake about 2 feet long THAT GOT AWAY and disappeared into my flower beds. Thinking....baby snake = Momma and Daddy snake nearby? Brother snakes? Sister snakes? >>>>>shudder<<<<<

I did freak out about the MOUSE I found in the washer machine yesterday. I truly about had a heart attack. My heart was beating so hard that I could feel it BONK BONK BONK in my chest. Thankfully DH was here when it happened. After lunch we were watching an episode of TV program and I was mindlessly pulling clothes out of the washer machine and hanging them up. I started to reach back into the washing machine to get that last piece of clothing when I realized it was not a piece of clothing BUT A FRESHLY WASHED DEAD MOUSE. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! After DH removed the mouse and I calmed down it was all about Bleach ....lots of bleach.

I am not freaking out, but can't deny the concern. They just announce another possible case of ebola in my part of the world. Last week a guy died from ebola in the hospital where DGS7 was born. Today they think ebola might be in big city hospital within 100 miles of me. Ebola is getting too close to my little corner of the world......

And what happened to the clothes that were already in the basket, LadyM? I can laugh as long as it wasn't me -I'd probably still be running. Yes, the whole Ebola thing can be a scary thing. What's safe to do/to go/what isn't? That and the enterovirus.

Never ceases to amaze me -ordered a new wallet for dh Wednesday afternoon. Just got the text that it's been delivered. Know it costs me for this service from Am a zon, and sometimes it's a little more expensive but I don't have to run around hunting. Quite often there's no tax & never shipping. A couple weeks ago I had to contact them about an order that never came. According to UPS they never picked it up. So guy on other end cancelled the order & had me reorder. And he extended my membership for an additional month. The item was here within the 2 days.
