((Harmony)) BTDT with having to get a letter to church and knowing it may step on toes. Any non-profit group is very difficult to criticize, even lightly. You have people who are working with only their good intentions and good hearts; it's not like they are salaried, so when something needs to be said it should be given some good editing. Hope you look back on it later and say, "how 'bout that - no big deal."

HRH came through and took me to lunch. Yum. There was an Aldi's and we walked through there first, my first experience there. His only experience had been having to go talk to a manager about product display (they don't allow "display", so upper management for product wouldn't let them carry it). Eye-opening experience for me, giving the shopping cart a quarter to get it to come with me. Also we hadn't brought bags, so carried our 3 items away awkwardly, figuring we were pretty dumb not to remember that. Very clean and fresh, and pleasant people.

Nancy, LOL, I think your dh can be forgiven if he bumped his own trash can, especially if he was looking at you! (Actually that doesn't sound bad at all.)

I am still dejunking for the garage sale that was moved to this Saturday - I am praying for nice weather that day but knowing my neck of the woods we will have rain.

Unfortunately, I'm being productive but doing the wrong things. I am really getting sick of temple/religious school financial work - it's my own fault for not saying no, of course, but I'm doing everything possible to not get it done.

So, now, with a limited amount of time anyway, I'll get rolling on what I really need to be doing.

Harriet: We have one discount chain here that requires quarters for their carts in our area, next closest and the next subdivision to dd's. But equal distance to the south and west don't require quarters. I wonder what that says about their impression of the locals? The one that surprised me was the one by dd's because the area looks exactly like the south and western suburbs yet was being treated as if it had urban shoppers (who are likely to walk off with the cart back to their apartment building. To make matter's worse, the last time I was there, my quarter wouldn't work in 3 different carts. It was a commemorative one and weighed a few grams less than a regular one which seemed weird (cuz it might not work in vending machines either.)

No progress here except I had some lunch and am ready to fold clothes from the dryer. Took photos of the fall colours. They are lovely today (and it is warm outside - mid 70's, compared to low 30's on Sunday morning.)

Doing some a.m. routine stuff. Made bed, flipped laundry.

Let the guy know that had the other not running jeep we found a different one. They will be happy bc he wanted to fix it for his owwn use so they said any way.

The guys liked the jeep at hubby's work place
high praise from "car guys".

Went for a walk with dh because I wanted to be among the colours not looking down on them.

Same route as yesterday but today I measured it. It was 1.5 miles, 3400 steps. We did it in under 35 minutes (yesterday was 45 but my friend stops and looks directly at me when he has something deep, at least deep to him, to say. I'm wondering if that is a holdover from his concussion since he's as ADD as me so I'd think he'd be able to walk&talk.)

We have to cross the intersection at the bridge (so 5 lanes x 2) to get to the water and the sound of the traffic is always there but it feels glorious to be walking along the river. And there's a subway under the parkway that takes us into a quiet neighbourhood so we have a loop we can do without having to wait twice for the lights at the bridge.

Next challenge is to update our house-leaving to-do list and then to pack. Weather looks warm in Nova Scotia which is a surprise.

Hello, villagers ~
It's another dark, gloomy day pouring buckets of rain.

Yesterday I got a lot of desk work done while I was waiting for the mechanic to call. I finally called him at 3:30 and he said my car would be the next one in the bay. (So why did I have to drop it off Sunday night so it would be there first thing in the morning? ) He called at 4:30 to say exactly what the guy at the other place told me, so I told him to order the parts. As soon as DH got home, we went and picked up my car because it is safe to drive. I just have to fiddle with the broken door handle to get out, and I won't be driving at night so it won't matter that the rear license plate lights are out. The check engine light can be ignored for now.

Last night was yet another personality conflict in the sewing group. This time it was someone who didn't think she should have to pay the late registration fee for the sewing retreat, even though she was 14 days after the deadline.

Today's goals:
* Get groceries to take to retreat and some for DH to have while I'm gone
* Errands - post office, Sam's, Aldi
* Pack the food & kitchen supplies that don't need refrigeration
* Pack my project bin and sewing tools
* Get suitcase out of storage closet
* Decide which clothes to take
* Check travel kit for toothpaste, shampoo, etc. in case I need to buy something tomorrow
* Look up the map to the campground to be sure I remember how to get there

Tomorrow is LEGO Club, which will cut down packing time. I should be ok, though, because I will still have part of Thursday morning to finish packing and load the car.

Ds is here now to do laundry.

I just double checked the weather in NS. Apparently dh missed the Tropical Cyclone Information Statement. It shouldn't hit until Saturday (day we are to fly home!) but we'll bring foul weather gear (and get insurance on the car.)

I walked 1 hour last night, purged 20 magazines, after searching through them for articles to save or pass onto friends and family. I put the articles, etc.. into a file in my basket, so they're not stacked on my end table. DH is getting prescriptions and a few groceries now. Hopefully the mail will be in the mailbox, as he drives on the way home, too. He won't need to make a special trip later.

It's cloudy here, will rain on and off, but now it's not raining. We had a storm last night, they say we can get a T-storm today.

I copied and pasted a spiral pattern flower to crochet, from a crochet blog. DGS-17.5 taught me to copy & paste when he visited this summer. It's absolutely wonderful to NOT "need" to print up pages and pages of extra comments or ads, because I'm copying and pasting what I need ONLY! I feel so glad he taught me. Now, I can't figure out how to copy and paste HERE at the Village! I "see" it done though. I only know how to copy from the Internet and paste it into Word, to make any size/font I want, save/print it and/or email the attachment to Dfriends or Dfamily.

I need to run and wash the dark LOL and do whites/pastels after that. I told DH I wanted to sort the LOL into whites AND darks INSIDE the laundry basket, because it makes washing clothes easier, it eliminates finding "Orphan" socks, lost under other LOL, and it's easier to just grab 1 side of colors for the machine, quickly. HE'S ACTUALLY BEEN DOING IT!

This is just a quick C. I. Waving at Booksaver, Blessedw2, Kathryn, Nancy, Harriet, (((Twins' Mom))), RR, Elizabeth, Dee & others! Have an amazing "This Is A Test Tuesday." But what are we being tested for? I hate tests, so I think I'll skip!

Edit: DGD-21-months, got her 1/2-cast on her broken forearm removed only after 3 - 4 weeks, as Ddil says the Dr.'s say babies heal bones fast.
