HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LUCYLEE & DH
Books. Several have pulled out of a quilting group retreat here bc the gossip is so bad.
I told my friend I did not want to gossip when she started talking about a couple around the corner that just got back together.
Did most of my prayer walk earlier. (Seems that her "nice button" turns off after one block! Lol! ) Fri. A had lost my peace after our walk so I do need to pay attn. To that. H said he could nof believe I said that when I told himwhat I had said bc before I left I told him pray that I do not fall into gossip. I was glad I took a break during the week and restarted walking alone.
No spinninng meeting this week.
This morning I saw 4 does across the st. Where we saw the buck last night.
I am pleased with my progress on the granny ripple shawl yea!

Re: Monday, Early and Effective
happy anniversary dear Mrs and Mr. Book!!!
Good morning everyone.. I am Monday, not early but hopefully effective today. (d kathryn you made me laugh out loud literally with your late and lethargic!)
hiding head in shame.. I slept until 10 am
unusual but I am rested - how lovely (the sun was shining and I felt like a grammar school child waking up on a saturday morning with no where to go - just taking my time).
I took a beginner yoga class on a recommendation from my doctor - I wouldn't have believed it but I feel awesome today - I think its all that stretching.
ready to be effective (Yes I am hopeful and determined)
My gratefulness for today: dd younger loves her new roommate and visa versa - a blessing

Re: Monday, Early and Effective
I've been enjoying cuop from Thursday on through the weekend. We did have internet at the camping lodge, but it was so slow that it reminded me of the old days on the dial-up modem. It took several minutes just to load my Email, thus I was glad that nothing needed a reply. I tried to check this site a couple times but decided since there would be no way for me to help if there were any site issues, I would do better to get off the computer and go to bed!
Checking my Email today, there are more than a few notes from FB reminding me that I haven't logged in there for several days. FB can spin in the wind for awhile longer, I won't take the time to look there until tonight or tomorrow.
From cuop:
(((Twins'Mom))) I'm glad you were able to enjoy the McCartney concert. I hope you're in much less pain today.
I loved seeing Kathryn's photos and videos of Unc's candy making lesson. I also am envious of Unc's spacious pantry cupboard!
(((Norma))) I am so sorry about the loss of your dear little Mikey.
Nancy ~ I was very happy about how little gossiping people did this weekend. Most of us hadn't seen each other for several months, so almost all conversations were about what everyone did all summer, and what sewing projects we had done recently or were going to do for Christmas decorating and gifts.
I will describe the sewing projects I saw in our AC&N thread when I get the chance to write more. Right now I'm going to go put a load of towels in the washer, and then take a nap with the calico cat.

Re: Monday, Early and Effective
Books. Glad to read the good reports on the quilting sewing weekend.
CI - l dumped the trash and refilled the coffee canister, took empty cereal boxes out of the pantry that I use to refill bulk bags of it. No longer worth the trouble & mess it causes, it is easier to just get one extra to have on hand. hens are happy w odds n ends of cereal!
Did 20 min. Outside picking up branches of dead bush I dug out last mo. Yea for progress.

Re: Monday, Early and Effective
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Mr & Mrs Lucylee!
((Norma)), I was so sorry to read about the death of little Mikey. So incredibly sad. Praying for all who are devastated by this loss.
Up earlier than planned & pleased to report that effectiveness is happening here in Doveland
. Sheets & towels are in the washer & dryer, lots of pick up & put away has been happening all around the house, plus I've made a dent in several mini-jobs that have been bugging me. These included switching back to a smaller purse, refiling all the bank paperwork that was still in my briefcase bag, put briefcase bag away, found & made a copy of my living will, carried shorts up to a storage cabinet in the attic & brought warm pants down to our bedroom bureau, moved the two files I use most in the filing cabinet to the front, even though this means they are not in alphabetical order.
Hi Harriet -- as I finish up laundry today I know I'll have the Rocky theme playing in my head as I jog up the basement stairs
! Your pharmacy mixup sounds so frustrating. We had a similar bathroom cabinet mishap happen to us years ago. When the box arrived one corner was badly crunched & the mirror had shattered.
Hi Bookie -- I loved the egg story. It was so sweet to bring the store workers some of the dessert that was made with their free eggs. I think you're onto something good with this: "I don't know if I'll go to the fall camp next year. Maybe I'll tell everyone I'm going, get all my projects ready to go, pack my suitcase -- and then hide at home to sew by myself!" Laughed at that!
Hi Lilac -- it's so good to see you
Hi Twins -- I hope the guy buying your dsis house does show up with the money today. Had a thought about your black eye ... if anyone stares, just smile & say, "You should see the other guy."
Hi Kathryn -- you cracked me up with Late & Lethargic!
Hope all goes well at your Dr visit. I did a lot of research on Lyme disease the summer I pulled 13!! deer ticks off of dh after he spent a day out in the woods. My takeaway was that if antibiotics are given right away it will eradicate it. Not everyone gets the bullseye rash so be glad you saw the tick. Plus some tests for Lyme come back with false negatives, as it can take over a month to show a titer for it. I pushed dh to push his dr to prescribe the Rx, because better safe than sorry.
Hi Dee -- Lunch with dd & friend sounds fun
Hi Nancy -- Good for you for not gossiping & setting boundaries with your walking friend. The other day I saw a buck drinking out of our bird bath, & last night dh shooed a bunch out of the back of the yard because they were bedding down there. They can be real pests in the wintertime so we don't want them getting that comfortable here
.
Hi Blessed -- what wonderful news about dd & her roommate!
Hi Sunny -- it's so good to see you!
Hi Helia -- it's so good to see you, too!
Time to switch laundry (cue the Rocky theme music
)& clear off the dining room table before lunch. Didn't finish reading the Sunday paper yesterday so will do that while eating lunch. Dh picked up some more delicious tomatos from the farmstand last week so I'll make a sandwich with one. Cashier told him they would have tomatos until the first frost, so this may be the last of them as we had a frost warning last night.
Could you please peek at my post in J&C? Thanks!
Waving ~~~~~ to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Re: Monday, Early and Effective
Peeking in to say hi. I have a more low-key day -- which of course means that I am using my time less effectively. . .
Our new session at work starts tomorrow, so no payroll today, although I'm meeting with my supervisor at 3:30 to receive my books and new assignment.
Done:
- jog 30 minutes with dh; he wanted to do a low key run today to help with muscle soreness after yesterday's adventure
- menu plan and groc. list
- a.m. routine is almost done.
- talked on phone with dfriend B
- have dealt with emails
- wiped down kitchen counters and dr table
- QT
- lunch
- s2s and self-care (toenail, hair, teeth - I'm skipping my face for now)
I'm off to the groc. store now. I regret not using my time more effectively earlier today. There are a lot of little things I'd like to get out of the way before the week starts in earnest tomorrow.
Dniece from the Netherlands is coming to stay with us Friday - Tuesday, so I'll need to get a room and bathroom ready for her by the end of this week. She has spent the last 6 weeks in Boston observing at a couple hospitals there under the supervision of Harvard Univ. medical faculty. She's not a student there. She's just observing as part of her own medical training. We're excited to have her come stay with us though!

Re: Monday, Early and Effective
Hello Dear Ladies,
Rainy day here.
Tomorrow Dson 26 flies away to begin his new life in North Carolina. I'm handling it quite well I think. DH is too, but he does go on a rant at times. Dson says he won't be back this year, hopefully next year he will come back to visit and if not then definetly the year after. In the meantime we all have i-phones with face time. He's packing and going to the UPS store to ship out boxes.
I want to get a motor home so we can drive there and visit at some point. Need to get caught up on medical bills first.
The big news at WM is the dropping of insurance for some. Have to work 30 hours a week to have it. I still qualify for it for now. But there are some people on SS who can't work a whole lot of hours and they aren't old enough for medicare so the insurance at WM was really needed by them.
DH got a notice that his present policy will no longer be available beginning in January. Wonder what they will replace it with. Wasn't very good as it was.
Working on laundry and dishes. Going to pay some bills too.
Great day to all!
