Weighed myself after breakfast. Weight is up but not by much.

Then I ate poorly for the day. Healthy breakfast, eggs & bacon lunch (although it was the hash browns and biscuit that were the poor choices) and a Dr. Pepper as a snack. Light supper.

Tummy is queasy. And my glands are slightly swollen but I'm not sure if that is tiredness or the beginning of getting sick. Psychosomatic symptoms are easy to produce. For instance, I feel ill every time I look at my leg, Harriet's comforting link to Lyme Disease notwithstanding. Hopefully I'll feel better after seeing a doctor tomorrow.

I weighed 1.7 Lbs. MORE today, than I did a week ago today.

But today, I've eaten healthy.

I put healthy choices, on the Costco & grocery list, for the grocery stores. The only "treat" we'll get, if they look good, are some muffins, but only FOUR and not jumbo ones from Costco. That's just way too large/much for 2 empty nesters. DH is diabetic, I'm trying to lose weight, so jumbo Costco muffins are not on the list. But they're wonderful to have on hand during the summer months, when our teenager grandsons are here. They eat a LOT! :o One DGS is so tall and husky, like a football player, so he eats a lot, too. 1 DGS is tall and slender, eats everything and anything and never gains an ounce! He takes after his DUncle. :)

Today, I had 8 oz. of cran-raspberry juice and a bowl of applesauce, which were nice. I had yogurt for breakfast and lunch. I get the plain strained Greek yogurt from Costco. It seems to work for me and since there's never fruit in it, I don't get the acidic stomach. :)

I walked yesterday, but not today. I often times don't exercise on Sundays, but I did do some light housework and 1 lol, for some activity, too. I'm hoping my next Sunday's weigh-in will show a loss, too. :?: :) I walked a lot on Friday, too. I like to set my timer, then walk, because it's motivating to get it done when the timer goes off, so I get enough time in.

Nancy, How far do you walk? Do you have a road without much traffic on it? :?:

I used to walk on a street, which was 1-mile long and straight, with my elderly-now Dfriend. Nowadays, there are so many cars, which speed on it, so it's unsafe. I walk our 1/4-mile to and from the mailbox, to = 1/2-mile round-trip. I can walk on the lane or in our woods or stroll on the fields and yards around our 2 homes. The 1 home is vacant, slated for demolition someday, because of asbestos in it. Sometimes I do in-house walking, if it's stormy. Like this week, over here, it'll be rains and T-Storms this week. So in-house walking is nice. I have long, very wide halls, and the great room area is larger with the sectional sofa and 2 chairs in the center of the room, separating the dining room from the great room. It makes a great walking track area, going up and down halls and around the dining and great rooms. Also, if I need to take something to another room, I walk it over there, which adds to my walk, plus I get something done.

When I dusted in my MBR today, I saw my T-Tapp DVD, which I want to start trying again. I want to get back "into" the T-Tapp Hoe-Down, too. I like that for an extra energy boost. It burns extra calories, too.

Weighed myself again this morning. I've definitely gained 1.5 pounds which isn't bad given how I've eaten for the past 2 weeks. But I have to stop that pattern and get back to tracking. MFP warned I'll weigh 5 pounds more in 5 weeks if I continual to eat as I did yesterday!

It is funny how some people on MFP forums get mad at that little stat it gives because they say "it can't possibly know how I'll eat over the next 5 weeks!" It doesn't say you WILL weigh that, only if you don't change your eating patterns this is what will happen. And that applies both for good or bad (on low cal/high movement days, it will give me a great number but I know I can't keep that up for 5 weeks either.)

Anyway, my goal of breaking down into the 170's by November 1 is now shot because I took a two week holiday. If I do that, it is by poor eating choices and basically starving myself and I don't intend to do that.

I'm terribly worried about getting Lyme Disease though since the last thing I want is to be bed-ridden again. It is so discouraging to think that any work I'm doing now can be wiped out in just a week but I know that is the case. I'm still trying to get back to where I was over 2 years ago when I first got sick. Aside from the extra 20 pounds, I also am trying to return to reliable knees (not to mention the foot which wasn't directly caused by either time in bed but was aggravated by the weight gain.) All it took was one week in bed to wipe out the progress I made after the hepatitis and I've spent over a year trying to get back to where I was at that point (let alone the year prior.)

Kathryn, could be worse, I guess - I'm up 4.2 lbs over the last time I weighed on Oct 14. Assuming some water retention because I'm pretty sure I haven't had enough calories to do that. I've eaten poorly, but not that poorly.

I walk about 1.5 -2 mi. In our neightborhood it takes 20-25 min. Not much traffic if you avoid the eight oclock time slot.

I am still hanging around my same weight. Have had migraines for four days in a row. Cycling at best. Will be glad when this part of the season passes. If they continue am considering asking my dr. to do the opcipical nerve block like I used to get....Hate the thought of the injections, but love the idea of being pain free ...

Prepared for the next 6 weeks record-keeping. Set up my 3-ring binder to add in the next 6 weeks of exercise on a calendar and my daily check-off journals (6 weekly sheets). I had gone back to the 3-ring for the last half of this year.

Had to use reinforcement labels (donut shapes on hole punch) for my Daily Order of Healthy Habits sheet - that's how often I refer to it. So it has been a very successful tool. I can skim right down to discover what I might have forgotten, BEFORE it's the end of the day. I have things in groups - early morning, with breakfast, etc.

Here's what I wrote in June about it:

I know what I want to do - I just need the written sequence. No habit is ruined if it isn't done at an exact time. I just need help to notice what's been forgotten and add it in a timely manner.

Btw, at first I had that in the cardfile (3 cards for morning afternoon and evening) and it works great that way, too. I suppose I could place those cards onto the front inside cover of the 3-ring and they wouldn't get wear and tear... ... hmmm

Trying to find the timing "sweet spot" for exercise, after the chill of the morning is gone but before much eating.

Water retention - the experiment to "catch" that is just a day of restricted sodium. (I know - not always easy.) Anyway, I would suspect and hope that's part of both Twins' Mom's and Kathryn's recent bump-ups.

((Ramblin'))

FFriend, enjoy hoe-downs.

BRAVO! Well stated!

I'm doing a cut/paste of this and adding it to my daily (hourly)check-off list. I am a little amazed how much I can get done when I challenge myself with a dead-line. I'm not trying for perfection, in fact rarely get everything done on time. So far I'm doing good on the first 2 hours of the day, then life usually happens and pulls my focus off my effort. I use a fresh digital list each day but after years of training using P&P card system, my mind thinks of each item on my list as a card. Because I have decided what I want to do, it is easy to get right back on track with the "next up" item on list.

I'm in the process of applying the same P&P card system success to Healthy Habits focus. I don't have it down yet, but it is a work in progress.

Today I attended the 1st of 6 weekly sessions on Healthy lifestyle. The basis of this program eating recommendations comes from Weight Watchers and ChooseMyPlate.gov. I'm a WW fan, so was thrilled to see that. I do like the instructor. She is a lifetime WW member and gave excellent examples. She spoke for 1.5 hours but it felt like about 10 minutes because she was such a good speaker and had multiple hands-on examples. I came home with a slew of information to read plus some homework to do and bring back next week. :)
