I am feeling pretty dispirited about not getting dsis' house sold. It just feels like I am climbing uphill and it was so much effort to get the court order okay to sell it. I took a nap, mostly for comfort and probably just need a good cry. Physically I'm not feeling great. The bruise on my chin is now as dark as my eye bruising.

Dove, I love your suggestion:
just smile & say, "You should see the other guy."
Sadie, I saw the news about Wal mart insurance changing - also that they are opening in store clinics at some locations where employees will pay only $4. I hope that your location is included.

Helia, it's great to "see" you more often these days...congrats to your dh also!

I'm wishing I had Bookie's calico cat to nap with!

I need to deal with this temple stuff that I left undone last week. Ugh.

Back from the doctor. I'm going on a full course (21 day) of antibiotics. It takes about 3 weeks for the lab confirmation if the tick had Lyme Disease but given how the leg looks, the doctor is starting me on the full course, not the preventative/possibly dose.

Had lunch, then was on my way to the old bank to empty the safety deposit box when I realized I'm still using my travel purse and the keys are in my regular purse. Sigh....

Spent time at lunch making notes from 3 of the 5 books that should go back to the library (I'm finished reading them but needed to take notes.)

Went to the library and returned three, picked up the book that I had requested. Will hopefully finish my note taking today.

I'm exhausted. I also feel queasy and like I'm carrying a X-ray lead apron on my shoulders. Will try and have a nap in a bit.

The drugs are tricky because of all the things I can't have within 1 - 3 hours of taking them and the fact that I can't lie down for a while after taking them. They are twice a day so we figure 6 a.m. (and I'll have green tea after 7 since I don't take that with milk) and 8 p.m. (after dinner but before bedtime when I take zinc and calcium.) That means at most I'll get 8 hours in bed a night but that's the best I can do unless we move dinner up to 5 p.m. which might work. At this point, I'm too queasy to be hungry. And nausea is also a side-effect of the drug so I suspect the nausea may be with me for a while.

((Kathryn)) Glad you're getting the full course of antibiotics started.

I think I am done (again) with these f/s. Emailed copy to two committee members and hopefully will send on to the bank in the morning. I'm calling temple work done for the day.

-reboot laundry
-make the bed (never got to it earlier)
-take out kitchen garbage
-take out garbage can to street
-water plants

Hi everyone! I was early today, but not real effective. Early because I had a doctor's appointment. Ineffective because said doctor gave me injections for tendonitis which NUMBED MY THUMBS!!! Not a whole lot one can do without being able to pick up, carry, or hold anything. I sat in the sewing room with the new foster and read a magazine. I did have a good lunch at home. I am running the heater for the first time today. The basics of what I need to do for the next few days are: website work, crisis cleaning, and costuming. I have accomplished one errand and about to update Quicken. I will probably be back later.

Sadie, I'll be thinking of your dson as he travels. Maybe he can make you a "home movie" after he settles into a home to film. Is he headed for the mountains, the coastal area, or the Piedmont?

Elizabeth, I hope this effect wears off soon!

FedEx man was way early, but I was early too, and the package was prepared and ready on the porch.

I've been watching a lot of Kim and Aggie during lunches, so I got all inspired to pumice-stone my toilets and really deep-clean. That's good.

Did a lightbulb sweep of the house and got some replaced, some fixtures cleared of bugs.

Picked up the mail and dropped junk mail into the trash cans now sitting beside the mailbox. Effective! One bill came home with me and it is prepared and in the next Desk Day file. Now, if I can just do that well every day... ... ;) Zero paper population growth! Oh, and I also threw away some receipts that were becoming clutter after I discovered the one I needed.

Dd has a second load of laundry in while she alternately studies and then sketches for an assignment. Midterms this week and part of next. Hard to believe - time is flying.

Hello again! My thumbs are better, a bit sore, but nothing a Tylenol won't cure (if I even need that, haven't decided). Bills are paid (yuck!), money is transferred to cover them, and Quicken is up to date. Guess I should get to crisis cleaning now, while it is still daylight (some of the CC slips are still yard work).

Hello, hello, hello!!!
Goodness -- I feel like I have been AWOL forever!

First -- thank you for all the sweet happy anniversary wishes -- that was yesterday. We're real party animals: ;) We went to church, napped all afternoon, I went out and got Taco Bell, and then we went to a movie -- Kill the Messenger. (It's about the Nicauraguan Contras/Freedom Fighters and raises the question whether or not the CIA was using drug money to finance the weapons we sent to those people. It's a pretty good movie, focusing on the small town CA reporter who uncovered evidence to that fact, but went through you-know-what once he brought the story to light.)

Today was ds's birthday and I cooked spaghetti, so the kitchen is still a mess, but I've got everything washed up except the pan the spaghetti and sauce was in. DH was a LOT of help getting everything ready and getting it cleaned up. Dmom and dbil came over and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Also, my duncle had his prostate surgery this morning, and apparently everything went quite well. They removed lymph nodes also, and he does not expect to have any reason to take treatments of any kind.

I've been trying to cuop while we've been out of pocket lately -- went w/dh & ds to a show Saturday, which ended up being about 3 hours away.

(((Norma))) That is just so horrible -- the accident w/your dfriend's child... I cannot imagine what they are going through. (((HUGS))) and prayers for all.

Elizabeth -- (((hugs))) for you, too! Hope you have opposable thumbs by morning!

Also glad to hear (((Kathryn))) is on an antibiotic, so maybe any thing that little tick was carrying will be wiped out SOON! (((HUGS))) and prayers also for your dd and dsil.

(((Twins))) I am sooo sorry about your fall and the resulting bruises and pain! I guess you DO need a good cry. Also sorry things aren't working out more smoothly with your dsis' house.

Bon voyage and best wishes to Sadie's ds! I know you must have mixed feelings about letting him go, but it will be so exciting for him.
There was an article in our local paper about Wmart and the insurance situation. Bad situation -- but I have a feeling Wmart is not the only place where more and more people are going to find themselves on part-time status so the employer doesn't have to provide insurance.
I'm wondering what ds/ddil will do when she goes on PRN status at the hospital. (Actually, she said tonight, nothing official has been done and she has signed no paperwork saying she IS going on PRN shifts -- but her director told her it was a "done deal.")

So much more I need to respond to but I'm using Topic Review to jog my memory, and I cant see far, especially considering I'm three days behind!

I am also battling some kind of rash -- my face/neck/shoulders/collarbone area -- all broken out in this blotchy red ITCHY rash. Also, my scalp is irritated and flaky. Plus, the usual itchiness I get in my elbows, behind my knees, and between my fingers has been flaring up. It has been bothering me for a week or so, but it is steadily getting worse. Dermatologist is in ITALY. He will be back tomorrow. I tried to make an appt and get this -- they said they could not see me until DEC. 22!    Now tell me, what earthly good is a doctor who can't see you for over 2 months??? :o  :o They suggested I see my family doctor -- and said dermatologist might call in a rx for me. I told them to please tell the dermatologist to call ME tomorrow. If he does not, I think I will try to get an appt w/dh's dermatologist. In the meantime, I went to the drug store and stocked up on Benadryl pills and spray. I am also getting some slight results from Eucerin cream and lotion. Cortisone cream and Gold Bond medicated cream gives brief relief, but nothing major. It has been a long time since I have had an allergic reaction like this -- if that is what it is -- and I do not think I have used ANY kind of new product at all in the last month or so.
Hmmm... Pantene shampoo? But I haven't used it in the last week and the rash has gotten worse, not better, in that time.
* sigh *

Anyway -- that's the situation around lucyland.
I've got to finish up in the kitchen and then I'm going to veg out and watch some tv.
Tomorrow is another day.

Made a sweet and sour pork stir fry for dinner. Dh liked it, Yay! It was relatively easy and will be easier next time since I recorded all the changes I made to the recipe. I used Rocco's cooking techniques to get rid of the added fat and punched up the spice/garlic in it to give it more flavour but the recipe came off the internet, not from one of his books. Dh had rice with his but I just added lots of broccoli in order to fill myself up without a starch.

Walked in the rain to school and back again since dh has a conference call with NZ right when my class lets out. Took me 20 minutes each way so I'm walking at 3 mph despite the rain and stiffness. Won't get 10K today because I have to head to bed now in order to get enough sleep before my next pill (I have to stay up after taking the pill.)

Lucylee Anytime I see a specialist in under 2 months, I know I'm dying or at least gravely ill. For heavens sake it took that long for my friend to see a surgeon after her lump was found and diagnosed cancerous. For skin condition my senior friend gets her appointments booked 6 months in advance and you can be sure she prays she won't be sick that day and not able to get to the appointment.
