Dson called, the flight was fine. Arrived during rush hour but finally made it to his new home.
Do miss him, but it's not too bad.

Re: Tuesday Ta-Dahs!
Sadie, I'm glad your Dson arrived safely and let you know, too.
It takes awhile to get better able to not having them around as much.
Put the last LOL away and then finished writing a letter to a Dfriend, dinner's ready to pop into the oven, and the World Series is on. I'm about to start crocheting the mate to a neighbor-friend's potholder, so that gift will be done. After it's done, only have 1 to go, which is a walker-tote, and it's my last "friends" gift I want to do or need to. For 2 friends I've done 1 hot pad w/1 pair of potholders apiece, then 1 friend gets fancy potholders, and 1 friend gets the walker tote. Then, it's onto more grandchildren gifts. ♥
Got out my clothes for morning, am ready to write tomorrow's list, and set my dawn simulator. I may do more letters or wait for tomorrow.
There's no rush. We understand it's "guilt-free" snail mails between us and we write when we have the time. Worked on my calendar reminders, removing some items,to make it 7 items to do, which many are routine reminders. Like exercise, proactive items like that.
Kathryn, Sorry that happened to you, about the power in the kitchen. Glad you remembered your nighttime vitamins, too.
DH took garbage out to the can and brought in firewood for the bin.
It's nice to have a wood fire in the insert.
Have a nice evening, Everybody!

Re: Tuesday Ta-Dahs!
THANK YOU for the Birthday wishes!
Guess what I did for my birthday? Naaahhhhh....not that!
We bought a house!
Well - not exactly. At least not definitely yet. This afternoon we looked at a house and fell in love with it. We visited with Realtor friend for instructions how to proceed. DH went to the bank and received financing approval within 5 minutes. The bank president apologized for not being able to get the paperwork done until tomorrow morning. ANYway - tomorrow we will sign a contract on the house (including providing a letter of financing)
YIKES! When I woke up this morning I had no thoughts of looking at a house much less buying one! Life sure does take some strange twist & turns.
We will put our home on the market after our offer is accepted and the house passes inspection.

Yes, DD is still living with DSon/DDIL. She started dating last week which didn't set well with DSon/DDIL because they don't want strange men coming to their home. Not sure what the future holds for DD living arraignments but for now she is still living with them. LO wiping lesson was a complete success and hasn't needed any follow up. Althought he did tell me "I like the school toilet paper because when you count 4 squares off they have 2 in each square so you get to use 8 squares". I was fascinated with his announcement for 2 reasons - #1 that he noticed the double ply toilet paper and #2 that he easily added 4+4 and came up with 8.wondering how your dd is doing, LadyM. Is she still living w/your ds? And -- how is LO doing w/his "wiping"?
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Re: Tuesday Ta-Dahs!
14th Ta-dah 7-8pm = put suitcase in long-term storage closet, folded clothes from dryer; washer loads #6 & #7 were small enough to put in the dryer together, and there aren't enough clothes to make up another load for the washer
15th Ta-dah 8pm-whenever = I'm going to watch TV for awhile but as soon as the dryer stops I will fold the sheets & pillowcases and put them away. I'll also sweep the kitchen floor and do a few more things in there between shows. Otherwise I think I'm done with chores for the night.
Time to goof off!
Thanks for the inspiration today, Kathryn. I don't think I would have accomplished as many things without the thought of trying to stay on the 1-per-hour schedule with you.

Re: Tuesday Ta-Dahs!
Lucylee The goal was one item per hour, not that each ta-dah was to take an hour!
Booksaver You are forgiven for the nap. In fact, that was my accomplishment from 7 - 8 and 8 - 9!
I just got up to take my second pill of the day and drink lots of water. From 9 - 10 my accomplishment is starting the dishwasher (I did load it before I napped but dh shooed me out of the kitchen telling me he'd finish the cleanup but had his conference call first.)
I'm very cold so need to search out PJ's. No idea where they may be but I'll need them tonight. I should probably look for my thermometer as well since I think I might be running a fever. That would explain the cold (as you recall, I complain about the apartment being hot.)
Lady Maverick I'm not sure you are allowed to move! How will I find you again?! (Harriet and Helia are in the same situation.)

Re: Tuesday Ta-Dahs!
LOL -- I know, Kathryn -- I knew I didn't have to spend the full hour on each ta-da -- I was just musing that I probably should devote MORE time to my Bible study than I do.
Ta-da #8 -- Visited nursing home w/dh, ds, ddil, dgs and friends. Took care of dgs while the others sang.
Bonus Ta-da's --
Supper at steak house
More work on the school project
LadyM -- that is quite a birthday! And WTG to LO!!! Glad your dd is still safe at her brother's, but hope things improve for everyone's peace of mind re: the dating situation.
Hope you get some good sleep and feel better tomorrow, (((Kathryn)))
BookSaver -- 15 TA-DA's? Okay, you are now officially an overachiever.
I'm just kidding! Big WTG to YOU!!!
So glad Sadie's son is safely in his new home. (((Sadie)))
Oh darn... I never DID start any laundry... got too caught up in the school project.
Talked to dmom just for a minute or so tonight... she has started a kind of P&P project herself, cleaning out/decluttering cedar chest. Wanted to know if I wanted a bridesmaid's dress I wore in 1979. * shaking my head * AS IF I could even pretend to fit into that dress now, nevermind the fact that it is blue & white gingham checked.
* shaking my head some MORE *
AND -- shaking my head at dmom getting involved in all THIS when she cannot even SEE her kitchen table, cannot see ANY flat surface IN her kitchen, office, OR den -- yet she's cleaning out CLOSETS and CEDAR CHESTS???
I told her I would try to come out there tomorrow and help her a little with these clothes, since she wants me to see the ones that belong to me, technically...
Good gracious I hope we can make some progress on the paper tigers that are attacking out there.
It is just about more than I can stand.
And when I get out there, she will start (A) talking about plans to go back to Nashville to the foot doctor, or other doctors in various cities that she needs to see, and all of this makes me nervous... and/or (B) talking about marital history that I really prefer not to be privy to... or (C) talking about plans for some vacation trip she wants to take w/dh & me, or just me, either way of which will send me into a complete panic attack.

Re: Tuesday Ta-Dahs!
Lady M - yes, Wow! Again, I have feelings of not wanting you to give up your "place we know so well", with the fences and animals we've heard about. But if you have fallen in love with a house today, that's wonderful, and after all, you will have the same porch light!
And speaking of moving, Sadie and I pm-ed briefly and I have an idea of the area to which her son has moved. It's rather a distance from me, but I hear about it every once in a while. I can say I've heard many good things about it: a charming place, calm, and economically strong now.
Twins' Mom, that was certainly your good deed of the day.
Had a long chat with a dcousin this evening. We had so much to talk about. Can't believe it is almost 11.
