Wednesday's work plan

Post by Twins' Mom »

We accomplished so much yesterday!

What is the work plan for today? Make the plan and work the plan!
Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.

As I CUOP from yesterday i admit to being a bit jealous. I wanted to do CI's with you! :)

Today I'm going to give it a try. I'm out of habit so need to tweak those "CI" muscles.

7am - LO up, snuggled, dressed and monitored his 4 morning cards. Backpack checked then I waited outside with him for the bus. Cleaned the front porch rug reaping a handful of dog hair. Having a long haired dog has it's challenges for sure! Made raisin bran muffins (using refrigerator mix) added crushed pineapple & chopped apple to the mixture before putting into muffin top pan to bake.

Next up - CFO cards

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, Twins'Mom.

This afternoon I need to take my car to the mechanic for a couple small repairs. This local guy is a little over a mile from our house, and I am looking forward to the walk home. I will need a jacket because the high today is forecast for upper 50s, but it's supposed to be sunny.

The trash and recycle bins go to the curb tonight.

I will do some decluttering but haven't picked a spot yet. Maybe it will be easier to decide after I have breakfast and coffee.

LadyMaverick, your muffins sound really tasty and healthy.

Errand day here and some stuff left over from yesterday that I didn't get to.

I am also tracking my time today...

-throw on clothes and walk the dogs
-take out recycling to the street
-s2s
-make the bed
-deal with 10 pieces of paper, how do they multiply so fast?

8 - 9am CI
** Processed two days of MPB daily gross.
** Printed a price quote received to replace pump of RO system at MPB. DH now has information he needs to make decision.
** Updated calendar - moving today's luncheon to next Wednesday. Added Lo next appt with ENT doctor.
** visited with Dmom on phone. She will finish up painting Dbro's fence today until he gets more paint bought.
** Received/recorded two electric bills. They are automatically paid so just need to record amounts being withdrawn.
** Fitbit steps =3481. Almost finished drinking 2 bottle of water

"new" house is anything except new. If we get it, it will just be "new" to us. It was built in 1964 and has been added on several times (4?). When you drive by or pull into one of the driveways, it isn't a beautiful home that makes a person go "ooooooohhhh! look at that". Nope. It is just a older home that feel right to DH & myself. I have some weird criteria for a home and this house is the first one that came close to meeting my wants/needs. It caught me totally off guard because I had given up finding a place that would tempt me to move.

Next up - Focus hour - this week my focus is on the gardens.

Now, now, if we all ask Lady M to spend time telling us about the house, she won't get her CFO cards done. Let the woman work and we'll have to make do with the short description she's given.

(On the other hand, maybe she could give us a link to a real estate listing at MO?)

Surprisingly, despite a 2 hours nap from 7 - 9 last night, I managed to sleep quite well overnight and woke with more energy today. And no headache!

I took my pill at 7:15 a.m. and then headed out to the pool since there wasn't really anything else I could do (was feeling queasy.) The concentration on not drowning kept my mind off the queasiness and I had a glorious 30 minutes in the pool all by myself. The life guard wasn't chatty and the music was off at my request so it was a peaceful as well as a good workout.

The shower after was lovely too since, unlike at home, the water temp remains constant and the water flow is sufficient to easily rinse my hair. I'll have to pack a hair dryer in my gym bag, for the future. When I toured the change rooms there were three, two weeks ago they were down to two and today there was only one. They are pretty light-weight home ones and I think they are simply burning out since they are designed to be used for about 5 minutes a day, not repeatedly by swimmer after swimmer. What they need is proper ones for hair stylists but I bet instead they'll stop providing them.

Got home at 9:25, just 10 minutes after when I could eat. I've had my breakfast and tea and chocolate (reverse order) and am now planning out my day. I'm tired again but that's a muscle tiredness from the exertion which isn't completely unpleasant. My exhaustion the past few days has been unpleasant.

Edited to add: attack of some sort at our Parliament Hill. Lock down. Glad I don't live in the core of Ottawa right now. Quick count of kids tells me they aren't in downtown today.

A belated Happy Birthday, Lady Maverick. I too, am anxious to hear about the new house.

I don't know what my malfunction is, but I can manage to keep cuop, but not post.

This morning I went to get my flu shot. They were giving them at the company offices in town. I chose to go there rather than drive out to the plant. I met the young gal that is now in charge of safety. She introduced herself and then I introduced myself. She said "oh you are Mr. D's wife." She used his first name. She asked me if I knew he was keeping count of how many days until retirement. That would be a yes. He did tell me last week that they think he will need to work another week into January to get the highest amount possible for his retirement account. I was thinking that I need to get my Christmas tree down and the house back in order, so that we can start with a clean slate.

It's that time of year again. Leaves, leaves and more leaves. There are so many right now that I need to rake them rather than mow them.

I plan to stay home today and clean. I need to get routine cleaning done, so that I can start tackle-ing some deep cleaning.

Oh, I am soooo behind today and tired! DD has been talking about taking a cruise for some time and was really zeroing in one in November. (She's off school for a week for Thanksgiving). At any rate she kept me looking with her and doing and re-doing until it was nearly 11 (I'm usually in bed by 9 at the latest). We finalized one leaving Nov. 24th and returning the 29th. Not sure I'm ready or anywhere near that for a cruise, but it's booked. Dh knows nothing of this right now -will surprise him when he gets down here. He too, has been itching for a cruise for a long time -I'm the one dragging my feet. My mind was so wound up that I just couldn't get to sleep -was up a few times and finally took a Benadryl. Then I didn't want to get up this morning -was almost 10 o'clock! :o

I've only s2s, taken meds and made the bed so far. Guess I'll get a bite of breakfast and a cup of coffee. Then I'll see what spot I can tackle today.

If all this goes through on the house, Lady M, will LO be in the same school? So easy to cross over districts where I am that I often look at that aspect. If you're happy, we're happy! And we can always find you -or is it the other way around?

Kathryn, somehow I missed your getting a tick bite. Was this in NS? I've had to read back through a bit to see just what was going on with you. Probably in that time I was running around trying to get ready to leave and the trip itself. Get better (quick) at any rate. Thinking continually of your dd as well.

P.S. In prayer for the situation in your city, Kathryn. Praying the soldier will recover and that the situation will quickly be controlled.

9-10am CI
** Pulled weeds in front flower garden.
** raked yard & gathered a wheel barrel full and dumped it into a hole (LO's attempt to dig to china)
** Mowed using old fashion no-engine mower until bag was full.
** Did rabbit chores using the freshly cut green grass to line the rabbit litter box.
** TURNED OFF THE WATER running in the garden since yesterday morning. **GULP** Water well pumped continually for 24+ hours and was still going. Vegetable garden is flooded. ARGH.
** Picked fresh basil for the rabbit.
** Checked dog feeder and waterer.
** Fitbit steps = 5431. 3rd bottle of water about 1/2 done.

The "new" house gardens are a BIG factor in tempting me to move. OH MY> I'm in loooove. I don't even know where to start -
** The well built gazebo surrounded by trees, shrubs, flowers and walking paths to/around it.
** The multitude of flower gardens - guessing about a dozen scattered throughout the yard with most of them planted in perennial type plants.
** The concrete curbs around multiple well established & maintained shrub beds.
** The fruit trees - peach, apple, pomegranate, plus many more that we are not totally sure what kind they are.
** The HUGE shade trees well placed to keep the house shaded during the hot summer days. Important for the 30+ days we are usually over 100 degrees.
** The grape vines and arbor
** The vegetable garden with SOFT dirt (important to someone who currently lives with rock hard clay type dirt)
** city water plus private well water. Important to someone who has been living through a drought with major water restriction. Also makes filling the swimming pool a less expensive endeavor.
** Yard is crossed fenced so the dogs can be given access to all or gates closed and limited to areas they can access. Important to someone who has fought the dogs for YEARS about digging up and laying in my gardens.
** We share a fence line with a horse pasture. The horses are friendly and come up to be petted.
** We share a fence line with a long time friend who we really like.
** Across the street the pasture is owned by long time friends - she is currently running for state office. Always good to have contact that can directly influence things from happening (government regulations).

Next up - Home loving daily/weeklies/monthly cards.
