Lucylee, sounds like interesting projects - might take some time - but fun!

Just had to pop in and remind everyone to look in your state's unclaimed property website. I just googled it and found the state where we used to live - nothing there (no surprise). But in this state I googled names and then our business names and found $113 of stuff, all from the same place. It was easy to get a claim number and print off the forms. Now to see if I can find something with that old address in all this paperwork around here!

I was thinking of our villagers today regarding the sad news story and not knowing if we knew anyone in families who were close. FFriend, I'm sorry your dgs and family, and Nancy, your dbil, are experiencing this community sadness now.

This is NOT meant to minimize the tragedy today, but I did also hear it reported that we have 37,000 high schools in the US. This was reported just to show some perspective on remembering the blessing of 36,999 high schools having safe days. That may still be out of place to say, and if so I'm sorry.

Dd went to a high school football game this evening - not her own but the local private school that is having such a hard time. They had a large crowd rallying in support during this tough time. She couldn't stay for the whole thing but said it looked like they might win. They are in a league of smaller schools and so she didn't know who they were playing - not very observant! She participated with friends who attend there by helping make cotton candy. Wow. That sounds healthy.

(((Nancy))) and (((FF))) -- and especially students/faculty, and families of all involved in the school shooting. Always makes me stop and give thanks that I was never part of any dangerous or frightening situations while teaching. As Harriet said, all things considered, these things are rare... but still, I was always aware that every time it happened, people would say, "We never thought it would happen HERE." * sigh * And I'm afraid the world is becoming much more dangerous and unsettled lately.

Oh -- my project re: dfil's biography -- that would just be for dh & ds/ddil/dgs. I'm not entertaining ideas of trying to publish it. Just wanted to make that clear. As ds said, it might be worth publishing, but I would probably use too many real names and someone would be offended. OTOH, I could fictionalize it easily -- but dh wouldn't appreciate that. So it is just for family reading, only. If I did a REALLY REALLY good job of it, I might share w/dniece & dnephew.
Yes... both of these are very time-consuming, long-term projects, Harmony, but it's good for me to have something to think about besides myself, you know.

Our team lost, in overtime, and dh/ds/and even ddil were all quite put-out with the coach's decision-making at the end of the game. Hindsight's 20/20, they say. And we really really like this young coach, as I've told y'all before. But it seems he RAN the ball over and over w/the best player on the team, and then when we got within 2 yards of the goal line, he opted to pass. Twice. And twice, incomplete. This game determined if we would go to the playoffs for the first time in (six?) years or something like that.
And then "our" Giants lost, with Auburn's Tim Hudson on the mound... * sigh * But even the announcers said he was doing a good job, just needed some runs.
Maybe things will go better tomorrow.
At least dgs had fun tonight.

LucyLee , I LIKE your project idea, even if it IS time-consuming, because it'll be interesting, a good focus for you, & will pay off in the end, for your Dfamily to see/read.

I have a Dfriend, who is doing the life history of her deceased DH. She's scanning everything, getting everything in order on-line. She's got a publisher, to publish 4 books; 1 for her, 3 for Dkids. She's put $$ aside, to pay for it, so she's budgeted for it. She's spending a lot of time doing, sometimes weeps, but all-in-all, I DO believe it's healthy & good for her, too. It'll be a work of love & the more power to her & to you, too!

I logged my exercise at The President's Challenge, am getting ready to sign off the computer for the night. Plan on watching sports tomorrow, while I crochet & hand-write short stories by hand, do more walking, & more physical activities to log onto my tracker. It's so fun to see the points add up, every night, too. Everything so cool, as you see the stars add up, to 6 - 8 weeks, as you do each week. It's such a great idea, to get Americans- adults & kids- in shape, healthier, no matter what their age or physical shape or even disabilities. They even show a boy in a wheel chair at their site, on some pages. I think that's amazing!
