SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
Hoping your day is completely "satisfyin' "! I realized I never got here yesterday. Will have to cuop later today. DD and I are about ready to leave for her school's "Fall Fest". Getting my car washed while we're there. Think I'm going to be in the library, signing people in for different projects. That will probably be better for me than standing outside at a booth.
Right after that 'fest' we have to head up to church for our October fest there! Our day is planned (for us). See ya' later.

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
Good morning! Yesterday was what is now becoming laundry day in my new household. Wayne is at work until 5 and I don't work on Fridays. I did 4 loads of laundry and ironed the jeans and shirts that needed to be unwrinkled a bit. We also have a new-to-me tradition that Wayne started years ago for himself. We go out for dinner to celebrate finishing another week of working hard. It can be somewhere plain or fancy. Last night was supposed to be fish and chips, but the line up was almost out the door, so we went to a diner and I had liver and onions. It was so good.
Today we are going to Wayne's mom's for a short visit and then out for lunch and then on to a flea market and then a derby game to see my daughter.
Have a great day everyone.

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
The alarm got me out of bed and I had something to eat. I hate eating first thing in the morning (that's why I always take time to 'wake-up' my tummy by having tea and chocolate and seldom eat breakfast before 9.) As well, no chocolate or milk so I couldn't have my regular breakfast anyway. I had two slices of raisin toast and a bowl of blueberries, plus green tea. In another hour I'll take my pill and then at lunch I can have something with milk and have chocolate for an afternoon break, I suppose.
I'm stopping taking my multi-vitamin and for the next 2+ weeks will have to hope that I get enough of those vitamins and minerals through my diet. I had no idea that dark chocolate was as high in iron as it is, I eat a reasonable amount of meat, cook with iron pans and I'm getting older, so missing the iron in that vitamin pill will be no big deal, I hope. I'll continue with the glucosamine/chondroitin, C, D, & E during this time.
I've joined the local fitbit community on FB and the fitbit website and seem to have started a walking group in my neighbourhood. At least, I started the thread so today I summarized the availability of everyone who responded (there are 6 of us so far) and suggested the Sunday available people head out tomorrow and I'll set a date for next week once I hear from one member who only works in this area but doesn't live here. I'm sure there are more of us in the area so once we get going, perhaps more will join in. The forum software doesn't allow editing of threads so how I'll keep this manageable, I don't know, but we'll see. At least I get notification of posts to any thread I'm in, so if someone pipes up in an old thread, I'll be able to see it.
Today my focus should be the service for tomorrow and then paperwork. I'll try and get out on the bike and over to the farmer's market to get garlic. I prefer to by local garlic, then Canadian and finally Gilroy but our grocery stores only carry Chinese. Which is nuts because it is a local and North American crop.

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
Good morning! Dh and I have forgone our morning jog today. He got up too late, and I think I broke my little toe yesterday when I jammed it against the wall. It is purple and swollen and yesterday there was a clear red line down the side. It is not too painful, but I limp slightly when I walk, so I think I won't jog on it for a while. Dd16 was out the door an hour ago to audition for the all state band. Only about 3-4 oboes across the state will make it. It's not likely she'll be one of them - but we're proud of her for giving it a shot! Then, she has an oboe trio rehearsal at 12:30.
Life has been a bit too busy the last couple of days. I even stayed up until 1:30 a.m. Wednesday night putting together a syllabus and prepping for classes on Thursday. Thursdays for me now have about 1/2 hour of "down time" between 8:20 a.m. and 6 p.m.
I didn't get everything done before my niece arrived yesterday, but the rooms look OK. I can do some spiffing today. I did get clean sheets on the bed and got rid of some cobwebs and got her a clean towel. The bathroom looks good at first glance. . . .
That is a great thing to do, organize a walking group, Kathryn.
I need to do some laundry today, CathyS.
Have a fun day at all the festivals, Dee!
Today, we're going to take dniece to a cider mill, a good Michigan activity, perhaps on a walk in the arboretum, and downtown for dinner tonight. Perhaps dh will show her his lab. She said she was interested. I believe ds and dd19 will be joining us later this afternoon.
Dniece has really enjoyed her time in the US and has interviewed to come back here and do some research in a year? or so.

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
It is 10:30 and I have nothing to show for the day. Sigh.
The constant discomfort is weighing me down. My foot is acting up too so it hurts to walk again.
It seems I'm always whining about something here. Recently life just doesn't seem to be giving me a break. At most I get a few days in a row and then something whacks me back down again.

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
Oh, Kathryn. How I know that feeling. Yesterday, it was a catch in my hip that made me limp all day. Tis the golden years. NOT!!!
I have to find the kitchen sink and cupboards today. And make muffins for fellowship tomorrow. I can't remember if there is anyone to lead fellowship so I either have to make a trip up the hill to find out or go an hour early to church to serve as leader. Think I will try to talk DH into a trip up the hill and a Chai tea at the coffee shop.
I don't remember if I reported on my success of filing 3 stacks of paperwork. Still much more to go but it makes me feel as I might succeed.
Time to go get something accomplished. TTFN

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
It's a beautiful sunny day here. Dh is out helping a friend, & the house is blissfully quiet. I'm going to take advantage of that by focusing on desk work for the next hour. After that, I have a wish list of things to get done today starting with checking the gift cupboard in the attic to see what I have already bought for dnieces & dnephews for Christmas. Dfriend & I have planned a shopping trip for next week so I want to see what I still need. My Holiday Notebook is up on the attic but I don't think I'm mentally ready yet to bring it down. Not today, anyway
I'm making stuffed flank steak for dinner which is a little time consuming so I want to stuff, roll & tie that before lunch so that I can just pop it into the oven later.
It's almost noon -- better get started & see how much I can get accomplished before lunch. Hope you all have a satisfying Saturday!

Re: SATISFYIN' SATURDAY
Hello everybody. Nice to see everybody's successes so early this Saturday.
I'm still struggling. I'm not sleeping well and I wake up really early. If I get up then I usually have a bad afternoon/evening and then I can't get to sleep in the night... so today I just stayed in bed with the tv on and eventually went back to sleep. I wish I could get this figured out... it makes me very unproductive.
Just printed off all the papers I need to submit those claims I found (see my last post last night) and straightened out one file.
I think I'll go out and walk a bit and see if I can get awake, I'm feeling so groggy.
Tomorrow I must help out with something at church so I need to get this turned around. Trying to decide if I have enough energy to make a meal for my friend. I have the ingredients...
