It's nice to hear from you again, Elizabeth .

I'm joining Granny squares for DGD now. The 3 affixed butterflies look absolutely ridiculous, IMHO,   and totally amateurish, too. I'm an intermediate to advanced crocheter, so this "look" isn't like ME at all! After 3 tries, I've decided the third time's a charm, this has been a lesson, NOT to try something just because it "looks pretty" in the photo. It's obvious this pattern was going down the tubes from the very beginning, because when I crocheted the original pattern for the squares, they were rectangle, which they were "supposed" to be, plus very, very lacy/holey, so it'd never keep DGD warm. This is when I changed my mind, did Grannies instead, which ended up being so much better and warmer, both. I love how there's a contrasting color, in the center of every other square, with matching next-to-the-last row in the square, with that same contrasting color. The other squares are white, with raspberry, corresponding to match the other squares, with the final rows all white. The contrasting color, frames the squares, I'm extremely happy with the look now. I have pink, white, raspberry, AND variegated burgundy-rose-raspberry to add different edging rounds around it, too. It'll be so pretty and so what if there aren't a bunch of very-dorky-looking butterflies to ruin the entire project. That would be such a waste of time, it'd be an afghan I'd be ashamed to admit I made and DGD is worth better than the butterflies idea anyway. This way, also, I end up with extra squares to crochet DGD's little dolly a matching afghan, just LIKE HER OWN! ♥ ♥ She'll adore that. She gives dolly bites of cookies and sips of drinks from the sippy cup, before she eats or drinks for herself. Isn't that just too precious? ;) Anyway, I'm very happy with how it looks- minus the butterflies- and I'm so thrilled with the nearly-almost outcome. Will probably finish it tomorrow, while pro-football is on.

DH and I watch the pre-football talk sports show, then watch games together. I've learned my lesson: DO NOT wear Seahawks' colors OR root for them, go into the other room, do your own thing, ignore them, whatever- AND THEN THEY WIN! Isn't that odd? :?: :?: :?:

Have a great night's sleep! "See" ya'll tomorrow, too. Goodnight. :D
