Freezing Friday

Not a lot of progress here.

The sermon is about 2/3 done but I'm against a wall now.

Two loads of laundry are done (although one needs to be folded and put away.)

Recycle has been taken out. That's a Thursday chore but got missed because dh was working flat out.

I printed off my SHE system off the google calendar and will work on adjustments for the apartment when I'm away.

Dh came to me and asked to swap drawers. When I went through my clothing reorganization, I ended up leaving drawers as they were but he asked to make the swap this morning. He ended up with more room and I ended up a little cramped but fine. The biggest issue for me is that the drawers in his dresser are low (there are shelves at mid-body height) and so I'll have to bend more (the built in drawers I had been using start at my upper chest, now the drawers start at my thighs.) The medicine drawer was also transferred to the shelves in the dresser. They can be easily childproofed when the time comes since the handles are loops so a lock will fit on fine.

So I guess I've accomplished things, just not what I need to accomplish. I had forgotten I have choir practice tomorrow as well so that's several hours out of the day.

Hello, villagers ~
This is one of those days where I know I worked this morning before my nap, but it doesn't look like I did anything except wash the dishes. Can't really point at anything and say, "See, I did that today!" Of course, a lot of my days are like that, so I don't know why it's affecting me at this moment.

Might be the cold. Freezing Friday is right! Monday our temps were in the mid- to high-50s and I went out to lunch wearing a tshirt with a light jacket. The news right now says it's only 23F. We are supposed to get 1-3" inches of snow tomorrow afternoon. Ok, ok, I will put on my winter coat, hat, and gloves when I go out later!

First I'm having a cup of coffee and a granola bar. Then I can go to the post office and library (postponed from yesterday) before having a late lunch at the truck stop. I have a coupon for a free cheeseburger that needs to be used today. May or may not stop at the bank after lunch, depending on the amount of donations I find at the library.

My hands are really cold; waiting for the coffee pot to finish it's job so I can warm my hands on a cup.

We both appreciate these kind words today! HRH says to tell Dee he keeps trying to convince others he is number one but doesn't get very far.

Because dd had her second internship interview today, we picked her up afterward and HRH ended up taking both of us out for an anniversary lunch to an Italian place nearby. I had penne pasta recommended by the hostess and they shared a pizza. Dd was saying it had been so long since the 3 of us were at a restaurant together, so that made it worth picking her up! (smile)

In her black dress skirt-suit and black 2.5-inch heels, she was mistaken for an adult by the teacher at the school's second building door this morning, who would not let her enter until she introduced herself. LOL. She told the lady she was a student and these shoes were killing her, and the lady laughed and buzzed her in. Interview was fine and she said nerves kept her from talking too much, which everyone had told her is usually her biggest error!

When we arrived home, I said, "look there's a package at the front door". I'd forgotten by the time I went inside through the kitchen, to put away the doggie bag. HRH came through the other way and said, "Happy Anniversary". He had had a sweet little Goebel donkey delivered here today.

I had been "watching" it on ebay, wishing I could afford to add to my small nativity setting, and his computer (on facebook, where I am NOT) told him about it. So nice - just what I wanted but had decided bids went too high. But does it seem right or moral for ebay/facebook to tell one's spouse through placement-advertising what is being watched by other spouse? Ds29 said, "Mom, don't look at any porn or the whole household will know." He thinks that's such a great joke.

I sometimes don't like put away polka because it forces me touch things and make decisions - and then I see more decisions I have to make and then more that I haven't cleaned up... lol I am driving myself crazy.

Lunch is over muffins we made were good fun to make too.

Arm shoulder & wrist are sore from knitting progress on dgsons stocking cap. Break time.
Got the tissue paper out of the storage room for gift baskets and some other items to use like my fav. snowman cup! Nativity blocks and Christmas story books to go with them.
A bit of the breeze makes it feel even colder out.

all the cook books are now in the hoosier cabinet near my desk (actually small table) in the basement. put away round up done in the basement as well.

listening to Pam and Peggy's : slob sister tapes Organized from the inside out. I wish they had it on cd - every so often I listen while I work ... I have the Christmas cd which I will listen to another time.

I'm having a second Dr. Pepper today (had none for three days.) I seem to crave it when I'm writing.

I've finished the sermon. Did the finishing up while on the treadmill.

Dh was at choir and when he got home we walked over to the store for a few things. That puts me at 11K steps for the day. I need 13K steps to get caught up for the week. And, of course, I'd have to keep moving tomorrow and Sunday. Tomorrow should be fine but Sunday I have church, then quick lunch, then my service, then a 3 hour drive and 1 hour train ride. Not sure when I'll manage to walk 5 miles! The train and walk to hotel might be a mile, and another mile in the morning but 3 miles remain a mystery.

All day long we've had snow clouds go by so 2/3 of the windows had a sunny view and 1/3 had snow falling. Because we are 'in the clouds' it is a very different feeling watching the snow. I think the main issue is that on the ground you see the weather immediately over you but up here I can see the different weather all across the city.

It was snowing out one of the two bedroom windows (they both look the same way!) and then it shifted along to the second window. I lay down to rest while waiting for dh to head off on the walk and when he came to get me he said, "It's accumulating." I asked if he was talking about traffic or snow and he said it was the snow so I popped out of bed and looked. In a matter of 5 minutes snow covered the roofs and lawns! We waited for the snow to stop (another 6 minutes) and then did our walk to the store. It was melting quickly but at the park we saw a little one trying to make snow angels and another small group had a sled for the 5' high 'hill' at the park!

My new hiking boots don't have a good enough grip on the slippery/icy sidewalks so it was a tricky walk. I'm disappointed about that but we are guessing the rubber on the soles is too hard to grip well in the cold. The boots are lovely and warm, though.

This afternoon I volunteered at LO school for a couple hours (12:15 - 2:30). The snack cart to raise money for the teachers is starting to become easier to stock and pass out the goodies as we become accustom to the process. When we started a month ago, we had to learn how to use the big commercial popcorn maker. It was a trial & error process. The first time we burnt 5 batches and stunk/smoked up the athletic building. Each week we have been improving. Today we made 70 bags of popcorn and didn't burn any! Silly, but we were all High Fiving each other with our success!

Harmony - I think 650 calories is the most they recommend for a meal.
Sunny - I don't know what the recommended cholesterol level is to eat. I need to pay closer attention to it.
I haven't read through the entire 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans but it looks packed full of information.

I made homemade pizza and have it baking now. I hope it taste half as good as it smells!

Harriet, I guess unless you have your own ebay account, I can see where that would happen. For a while anytime DH looked at his he had aprons come up!

Company did not send those files. This problem is getting bigger.

I updated some statements. Sorted mail.

Big huge project done, a huge stack of files and papers gone through and organized, most shredded. I ended up with a whole big garbage bags of shreddings. Pared everything down to 4 slim file folders. Whole lotta sensitive information (old credit card info) out of here now. I do wish banks would quit buying each other and changing credit cards from v isa to M card and from dis cover etc. I was able to call one account and cancel that over the phone, on their automated line (which was surprising to me).

Went out to bank, got the car gassed up on the way back.

Nothing much done in the house except dailies. The file work done does not show, but I feel it in my "brain". It feels lighter. Does anybody know what I mean?
