I love a new week and especially morning..Its a new day. so many possibilities in it! So many things that can get off my plate that will make the following week easier.
What will make next week easier if you get it done this week.

Hi blessed! Your positive spirit drew me here! Yes, I love Monday mornings for that reason too - a new day and a new week. New opportunities!

We have a little snow on the ground, maybe 1/2 an inch! It is very pretty and puts me in the holiday spirit. :)

Which is good b/c I have another one of "those" weeks. . .Meetings/appointments every morning (3 of them are moms group and will take up a good chunk of my mornings) plus the standard teaching in the afternoon, until 5:30/5:45 3 days, including tutoring on Friday.

TaDas:
- up
- made sure dd16 was getting up
- meds for Pepper
- dogs out and in; yelled at Maia for barking at man walking his dog by our house.
- checked emails

ToDos:
- a.m. routine
- laundry: 2-3 loads
- order flowers from moms group for dfriend whose mother died a week ago. I asked if someone else would like to do this -- no response.
- menu plan and groc. list finalized
- Pepper to vet at 9:45 - check on something else vet saw last week
- finish grading one class' quizzes
- groc. store
- office store: manila file folders
- everything away
- lunch
- prep for class this afternoon
- teach R/W
- meet with school director at 3:30
- look over S/L final for Thursday
- start copying lesson plans for the file
- gym: renew membership and exercise?
- simple dinner out with dh;
- create agenda for moms group leadership team meeting tomorrow
- create devotional for moms group leadership team meeting tomorrow - if no one else volunteers. No one has at this point.
- prep for R/W class on Tuesday (I'll be busy all day tomorrow and won't have much time)
- prep for S/L class on Tuesday (ditto above)

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, blessedw2.
Helia ~ Sending good thoughts for Pepper.

DH is taking another Monday vacation day, and he picked the perfect day to stay home. We got more snow than expected, but yesterday we were able to go to the truck stop for a late lunch and the roads were ok. Today, however, the problem will be a high temp of only 14F and strong winds, the radio dj just said wind chill during the warmest part of the day will be minus 15F. Brrr! Therefore, DH and I might not go outside at all except to feed and water the outdoors cats.

This weather is not unusual for Iowa, but it is more usual for January or February. To get this as a sudden change going from a nice autumn day to instant deep freeze is both a physical and psychological jolt.

Maybe today I should pretend to be British and drink endless cups of hot tea. ;)

The sewing group president has rescheduled our board meeting 3 times, which is getting annoying. This morning, however, I am grateful that I won't have to go out to a meeting tonight. It is tentatively reset for Thursday night.

Uh oh, it just occurred to me that maybe I should take my car for a short drive. I haven't started it since Friday, and in this cold the battery might need a little boost. I could go to the Tiny Town grocery store to see if they still have a Sunday newspaper since we did not receive ours yesterday. Hmm ... definitely need more coffee before I contemplate how many layers of shirts I'll need to put on before going outside ...

Booksaver: that is COLD!

Here it is around 32.

I'm up and eating breakfast now. Got dressed enough to go downstairs and chat with another wife. She just called and we'll go to a museum today.

I have a list of 12 items to work on as well in down times. So I have a very busy week but in a way I'm looking forward to it.

Okay, I'll admit it! I've been searching because I don't know where you went, Kathryn. Somehow I missed that little point -probably when I was gone for a day or 2.

I do think that's a good idea about running that car for a while, BookSaver, in this unseasonably cold time. That's an interesting point you made about not just a physical but a psychological jolt from the wintry hit. I know we felt like... bam! :?

blessed is a remarkably positive person, and very honest at the same time, so we might as well go along with her, helia. She's probably right as usual.

helia, perhaps Maia wonders why YOU decided to have a tantrum when she was being sensible? I recently read that some pet experts believe that often when we believe our pets are paying attention to us, they are really stopping to marvel at what they consider our tantrums. And some of the "training" results we believe we achieve are actually attempts by intelligent pets to modify our bad behavior. "The only way I can get this human to be quiet is to come back to her and sit with her, poor dear." ;) Of course this is harder to believe after dog-sitting ds' less-than-one-yr Lab/Golden/Poodle. I think she's just nuts.

Morning Daily Card and school run done well. Just a few items left tumbling in the dryer. I've requested a prescription and need to remember to pick that up today. I'm supposed to get a discount through 2014 and was first told no problem. Today they are not so sure so I have to bring in the coupon thingie again. So glad I kept it - gee I need it to work.

HRH was so proud of himself that he "finished the child gifts" for me. ( :| ) He pitched in and asked all our children what to buy their children as gifts this year. He has most of the grandchild gifts already purchased. That's great but he was disappointed when I told him ... ... now he could get started on the 3 child gifts for his friends' children, 1 gift for little niece, 9 gifts for greatnieces and gnephews at dfirstilaw party, and an Angel Tree child, for a total of 14 more buying opportunities. Also not reminding him that gifts for children are always easier than adults, OR that he wanted to pick out a pink baby dress for someone on the horizon!

I have put stuff that leaves the house like gifts to wrap in a laundry basket freeing up space on the table. Pretending we are havivg people over for turkey day is helping me to cope with stuff that has accumulated while I was ill last mo.

A very quiet Monday here for me, thankfully! I loved the discussion last week about taking a day of rest during the week - it's nice to recharge after being with dh all weekend and having the TV on almost nonstop. I've been re-reading the Harry Potter series so finished the lastest book around midnight and then slept in a little this morning.

Thirty-seven degrees, cloudy, and the wind blowing today. High of only forty degrees. I should ck in with dh re the sprinkler system - I don't think that he and dneighbor were able to resolve the issue yesterday.

-start a lol of delicates
-kitchen and breakfast bar counter clean up
-bundle up and walk the ddogs
-s2s
