Haven't started my council minutes yet, but did accomplish 2 dpc. Got dh's paper subscription put on auto-pay (and also added the 'end' date so that's 1 less dpc in the spring) and also talked to our A T & T to figure out the best plan for my phone purchase. If I go with the $1.00 phone at B est B uy my phone bill will go up $15/month for the next 24 months. If I buy one at A T & T it will go up about $18/month. Actually I think it'll be a wash because there wouldn't be the upgrade fee. Will wait for dd to come home (my gadget guru) and decide which way to go. I do need to get a new phone. And my contact did upgrade our data plan at no additional cost. So at least I won't worry about dh using too much data when we're out and about.

I'm lovin' this magnificent quiet Monday - the beginning of the week and a new month! Thank you, bw2 for starting us out today.

Today is wide open and this is a quiet week. I have a lot that I need to get done to plan for the temple Hanukah event. I've been consumed lately with getting back to genealogy and have discovered and been sidetracked by the world of genealogy blogs.

I need to at least finish a.m. routine. I've been sitting here at the computer for what seems like hours and my feet are so cold! I need to get moving.

-start a lol
-make the bed
-clear kitchen counters
-get out of pajamas and walk the dogs
-start chicken soup, never got to it yesterday since we were out in the afternoon

Still need to s2s to finish a.m. routine.

Wasted the morning. Still in pjs. Glad to see that I'm not alone (thanks for posting, Twins!)

Did spend 15 on cleaning up the kitchen. Then wasted 40 online.

Will go find my watch and start working 15s for a while.

Just noted that the house for sale in the village that most closely matched ours has a conditional sale. They dropped their price from $440K to $395K. I'll have to wait for the sale to go through to see what it sold for, but they took a huge hit. We had steel roof, water furnace and generator but 1990s kitchen and bathrooms. They had updated kitchen and bathrooms and an amazing additional heated 2 car garage with workshop (so 2 car garage attached and 2 car garage unattached.) We were aimed at different buyers but both were split levels built almost the same time and in the same village so they were a close match to how much we should get for our house.

Good Morning!

I was here earlier this morning for a few minutes but couldn't stay long. Now I'm back to CUOP while sipping a cup of coffee.

I zonked out last night and slept 9 hours! LO woke me up this morning THANKFULLY. It was 11 minutes past the time for me to wake him up to get ready for school. I had turned all the normal alarms off during the holiday and forgot to turn them on again.

When the urologist office opened this morning I call for instructions for DH. We are waiting for a call back. DH is 99% sure he has another kidney stone. The pain started late Friday night. When it started DH thought he had pulled a muscle in his back because he has been doing lots of repairs but as time passed the pain increased instead of decreasing. Someone less STUBBORN would have gone to ER this weekend. When the nurse asked this morning for DH to rate his pain level 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst.....DH said 10.

Realtor txt this morning that two offers are in the works for purchasing our home and the MPB. She told us to expect to receive the offer on our home/land tomorrow or Wednesday. I hope hope hope hope HOPE they are reasonable offers. She said we might have home & MPB both sold at the same time. Trying to not get my hopes up because that is dream stuff.....but it is nice to have a chance even if it is slim one. :)

Closing on birthday house is should happen this week. Don't have a date/time yet though.

I soaked beans overnight and have them cooking in instant pot. Going to make a pan of chicken & cheese enchiladas to have on hand. I don't like to cook this way - eating same food for 2+ meals, but I'm doing it this week because I'm feeling a tiny bit overwhelmed. I don't want to eat out or eat processed food but I also don't want to need to cook 3 times a day.

I only did part of my minutes as I don't have a report from the Trustees as yet. I wrote up what I managed to write down from our meeting, copied it and sent it off to that board. Want to make sure I'm not missing anything or have any info incorrect. Now I guess dh and I will head over to dbil/dsisil for a visit. Then I'll drop him at school.

Hope to come home and grab a short siesta. See y'all later.

Well guess what was in the mail? The cable bill, so either I dreamed that it arrived early or I took it with a stack of things to mail. At least it is here and I have already paid via credit card.

My Avon lady fell backwards a few weeks ago in her kitchen. She has previously had back surgery that did not work, so she thought the pain was just an aggravation to her condition. After waiting 1 1/2 weeks, she went to the dr. and her back was broken. She said they put 2 holes in her and used a cement to repair her back. Yikes!!!! She told me to be careful because she wouldn't want anyone going thru what she has gone thru.

I had an early lunch so I need to head out.

Hello SHE friends! I'm heading out the door to the groc. store. I'm moving slowly - but I am moving. I still haven't completely reversed the momentum of the lovely 5 days of relaxation I just enjoyed. LOL!

This sat here whil I just took a call from the director of the school. He said he took me at my word and didn't give me a class this session -- but he, "really really wants me to come back in January." :) I'm very happy about this! Perfect! I had told him earlier this fall that I would like to not teach this session if I wasn't needed. Then, I was worried by his initial reaction that I would definitely be needed. Dec. is a busy time for me, and I wasn't sure how I would juggle work and Christmas busyness. Plus, I'm behind on several different things. I can use this month to get caught up around here - if I use my time well. I'm almost giddy with happiness! --I got the sense that he called to make sure I was happy with this arrangement. I do hope he'll need me in January. He seems pretty sure he will. . . . . Fortunately, this is not about $$ and we can afford for me to be flexible with my schedule, but I would like to jump back into the saddle in January. I've really been enjoying reviving my professional side after letting it sit dormant for so many years. There's so much for me to learn and so many ways to still grow.

Today:
- s2s and self-care
- QT
- haircut in neighboring village (about 2 hours including driving time)
- encouraging email to mentee
- lunch
- groc. list and menu plan made; since it is just dd16 and myself this week, cooking will be very simple. We'll mainly eat leftovers I've ferreted away in the freezer. That way we can enjoy homemade meals and use up the small amounts of leftovers at the same time. I guess we're also clearing out the freezers, though they're not particularly stuffed at the moment.
- phone call with director

I was so happy to hear of good family times over Thanksgiving, LadyM. I'm sorry about ((dh)). I'll pray for him.
Lilac, I almost giggled outloud after I read the first line of your post about the bill arriving today. Isn't that just the way it goes? No issues with you paying it early, though.
Kathryn, I noticed you had a full day yesterday.
I love VW bugs, Dee! I hope your kids (dd and dsil?? - or vice versa?) enjoy!
Glad you have a quiet week, Twins.
Yay for new cupboards for MT! This sounds like an important anniversary number. . .
Thank you for the cheerful start, blessed.
Neat to hear about your weaving, nancy.

OK, I'm off to the groc. store and the school - to return a couple CDs and look for a spatula I left during the Thanksgiving potluck last Tuesday.

Hello, villagers ~
I've been doing various desk jobs all morning to be quiet enough to let DH sleep in for 1 more morning.
* fed the cat
* put dishes in to soak
* fixed and consumed breakfast toast & coffee
* wrote and sent several Emails for the library group
* read and deleted lots of Emails from my personal Inbox
* worked on month-end financial reports for the library group
* washed a load of dish cloths and towels which are in the dryer now
* watched a sewing video of ideas for quick and pretty projects
* played 2 online jigsaw puzzles with Christmas themes
* read the fine print on a contract for the library group (need to check with the banker before signing)
* checked out a couple Cyber Monday sale items
* posted the December Cleaning Focus thread

DH got up 15 minutes ago. Once he is fully awake, we will go out to lunch and then to Aldi to buy the food items requested for this week's donations to the charity drive at his job. We also need to see if they have any more eggnog ice cream because DH discovered he likes it; funny because he didn't touch any of the flavors I bought all summer.

After we're back from errands, I need to clean the kitchen. We change into house shoes as soon as we come in from outside, how oh how does the kitchen floor still get so filthy? Maybe the calico cat has been inviting the outdoor cats in for dances while DH and I are sleeping at night?

I'm having quite a day, for the beginning of the week/month. I cannot keep up. It sounds like many of you are in the same boat.

LOL Harriet, Love, honor and remember the toothbrush (in our case)! I asked DH why his newly tagged and organized case was in my sink and he said because there was soap in it. He hadn't noticed that it was all washed, reorganized with new little bottles in plastic zipper bag inside and I had to explain all that...also that we wouldn't be sharing any more and it was forever more HIS responsibility whatever he did and whatever he didn't do. He just grinned about the whole thing. I wonder if divorce proceedings ever happen because of irreconcilable toothbrushes?

PBS had a special about Haw kings' life which I found kind of depressing...

LadyM, ooh poor DH another stone? Sure hope not. Crossing fingers for both sales to go through, that's wonderful.

Been doing paperwork all this time, at least 4 different things going on at once, with DH here interrupting constantly. I did manage just now to get payroll taxes deposited. Sent him on the way with clipboard full of stuff for county office and store list (eggs was on it, he had dropped 2 of the last 4). sigh... progress is so slow sometimes.

BWTG Dee! I gained 2 pounds over Thanksgiving. Yesterday I walked. I'm going out for another walk soon. I'm finally getting a little motivated.
Oh, Elizabeth, sorry about computer backup.

Better get going here.
