This morning I rattled some chains on the religious school issue and indicated I would resign in 48 hours if the exec director did not address the issue. She's had ample time to deal with this, and sent out two emails last night on other subjects. One was reminding me about another non urgent issue. I just don't get this lady. We'll see what happens next.

Now that that is done and the clock is ticking, I'm getting on with the day.

Twins: the religious school seems to be a thorn in your side. I think you did the right thing. Going back over your posts on it, there is a pattern on non-support on financial issues. Your job is the finances and you can't do that if you are not getting accurate and timely information.

The fire alarm went off. It is very loud and disturbing (my tummy is upset now) which is a good thing. It would be difficult to be complacent if I heard that without it first being announced. They did an announcement into all units first letting us know that we could ignore the alarm this time.

I still haven't s2s. The LED light string is now acting up in the office. Oh well. I managed to clean both the windows in there so 5/12th of them are done. Will try and finish the rest of the non-bedroom ones today. Noted a deep scratch in the office window which is scary to me. I thought it was just a streak or maybe a bit of plaster or paint but when I went to clean it, it won't come off. Hope that isn't a sign that the window is weak. The windows are 46 years old so really should be replaced. A lot of other work has been done around here. Rumour has it that the owners want to sell, that's why the new boilers, new lit street sign, new patio doors, new flooring whenever a long-held apartment gets a new tenant. I'd vote for new, brighter, carpet in the halls and definitely a lobby make-over. The lobby is just weird.

The sign is up for the tenants Christmas party but only in the elevator lobby of the basement. Anyone without a car won't see the sign.

1 hour done: doesn't seem like I got a lot done but so far cleaned out 2 cabinets and did some tossing. I need to update flour etc. I usually do this in NOvember

Bookie, I've had potato chips smell funny in a bag (oily). The last few chips I've had tasted slightly off and they weren't old either. I haven't been able to touch a potato chip for a couple months (a good thing)!

This is another tough day for me. My days have been tough since we came home last weekend. Just mountains of work to do, and I haven't been able to attend to the house except for dinner dishes duds, and that only sporadically. I did get unpacked and the laundry around here folded or hung.

Got DH out the door with a long list again. We've had words again about the paperwork scramble, lost papers, stacks to file in proper places... We'd probably have to have whole new computer systems to ever go paperless...and then some education. So we must put up with this. We are trying another way of corralling
things in the office. I'll need another bin or letter box, I put a shoe box there temporarily. We moved a step file closer where he can reach it better.

It's really hard. I'm the cleanie living with the messy. I always feel bad for the partners of hoarders who do not want to live that way but are forced to. DH is not a hoarder, but his methods of dealing with paper is deplorable.

I was up in the night, twice I smelled something funny, like burning oil or electronics, enough to wake me up, and I went out to kitchen sniffing around. DH came out asking about the smell and his sense of smell is way worse than mine so I was surprised he smelled it. I sniffed around all the electronics and outside on the porch and never figured it out. It woke me up once more. I have no idea what it was. The smoke alarms never went off.

Sorry just rushing through this morning...

Before I forget...MT ...daily showers with diluted apple cider vinegar will help your pup I promise. I fill a 2 quart container with warm water and the vinegar and rinse Willis in my tub. He loves it and it is really helping him. I also give him a benedryl pill in the morning. If the grass is wet...like after we water it...and he goes out and rolls in it, he comes back in the house with his entire back swollen in bumps...its awful looking.

What I have decided is whatever bugs are living in the grass/dirt must be looking for water and surface to the top of the ground once its wet. Then Willis goes outside, rolls in the grass and while he's down in it those bugs bit the stuffing out of him. Who knew I would end up with a dog who's allergic to stuff outside.

I have a young friend who has two very small children. I spent two days at her home while doing the community yard sale the other week. She is a TOTAL SHE and was so completely embarrassed to have me inside her home. I told her I didn't "see" the mess and wouldn't judge her.

During the sale I took pictures of her 3 yr old dd eating a chocolate frosted doughnut covered with sprinkles. Yesterday I had the prints and stopped by her house to give them to her. Once again I found her in a tizzy about the condition of her house. Looks like it came straight out of the P&P sisters.

Explained I had the same problem and if she wasn't offended I had a system that I could share with her that might just help her out. After I shared a bit about how the "box" worked she wanted to know everything. So at her begging and request this afternoon I am bring my books and box to her.

Before I left I said...do you find yourself working in your bedroom, discover a glass, take it to the kitchen, then find something to do there and the cycle continues....She laughed and said...that's me, that's me.

As I was walking out the door, I told her I had a simple solution for that...a laundry basket. Told her how I put on in the doorway of the room I am working in and place the items that belong in other rooms in it so I stay working where I need to be.

Her response was...that's an ingenuous idea!!! and went running to get hers.

I so feel for her remembering how I struggled to get my house and home in order back when I was her age. And I am so excited about being able to help her. I also remember how much peace and harmony using the system brought into my life. I hope that I can pay it forwards.

It's raining its pouring so I am working around the house. Laundry is spinning away, my three legged table is up, and I hope to get the tree done by this afternoon.

I am really excited about seeing Peter Pan tonight...The song, I Won't Grow Up is so me. I've always try to find the kid like fun in my life.

Y'all have a great day... Hang in there Harmony. Don't be so hard on yourself, you're doing a wonderful job. My husband prior to Sweetie was a builder and I faced many of the same challenges as you. And I can so identify with an aging man who still believes he's the man he's always been, but his body is proving to him otherwise.

I am so thankful that Sweetie is able to continue using his life-learned skills even though he is retired. He will be 68 in March and is still as strong as he ever was. On the other hand, my son's father is 65 and retired at 55. He has more money than God and is so unhappy. His health is poor, he's over weight and just plain miserable with life. We still have a great relationship so its hard for me to watch this once strong, viral man who ran a major corporation for years, become a shell of himself. Sometimes I get so frustrated with him I want to shake him to change if only for my son's sake.

Got run...I'm getting way to sidetracked.

That would be me and dsonil, Harmony. Left to him every scrap would be left lying wherever it lands. Dh does pretty well overall. DD loves it when I come because I have time, generally, to keep things picked up. Though it may take me a while to get there. Of course this year we had the cruise to get ready for and now Christmas. But I'm at least getting more done.

Making progress. Thank you rrose. BWTG helping someone with our system.

I typed up minutes from Tuesday night. It is a blessing to me all month to be able to look over at my binder and know that the minutes are there waiting to pass out, that chore is done and I don't need to have it OMM. I must tidy up the permanent record book and get that ready to hand over also.

I've had breakfast and vitamins and supplements.

I made a couple recipe cards and filed a big pile of used recipes in my box.

Baby steps.

Hello everyone! Yes, how nice you are helping your dfriend, RR.
Nice to see many of you here.
I think dh and I are pretty well matched; neither of us is over the top clean or messy.

Done:
- looked at my lesson this a.m.
- put stamps and return address labels on snail mail bills; put them in the mailbox
- s2s and self-care
- out the door late at 8:40
- moms group; with set up and clean up I was home around 12:30.
- fed dcat
- tended hens
- did some shopping on Amazon; the teacher upfront at the moms group this morning has a PhD in English Lit, and she always draws from a rich collection of books. I ordered a few for myself and have some extras to give as Cmas gifts too.
