Re: Conga Finishing Friday
Lilac, those motors are hard to get out. We've worked on those before. We changed gears and 1 motor and used some parts from the one left for the other...it's really hard.
The harder we work the more behind we get. While we were out we got a new radiator cap for DH's pickup. It was hot when he pulled in and I told him. The cap looked really ratty so we got another. Well, now we have a shiny new cap - and a leaky water pump.
So all things grind to a halt while I help him as it's getting dark remove the old water pump and hoses. It's like working down inside the belly of the beast. All the tools are out. Got the old one out finally, the new one (hopefully we'll be able to find one tomorrow) will go in tomorrow and I'll likely have to help with that.
I have some of the house put back together but there's all kinds of things to do just to get back to how it was this morning. I can't catch a break. While we were out I asked if we could please go out to dinner and use one of our gift cards. Yes that sounds nice.
Then all this. So it's frozen pizza again and that doesn't agree with me. I'm sorry I'm moaning but I just feel like I want to give up.

(((Harmony))) Try and get some frozen food that you can have and that way your dh can have pizza and you can zap something else for yourself the next time you decide to resort to something simple and easy.
The Christmas lights look pretty in the apartment.
Dh finally got the living room sound system playing our music library on the network. It didn't work at all for me and I had no idea why. I don't think he knew why but after a half hour of struggling it finally is working for me. I can just select the genre Christmas and all our Christmas music plays.
Edited to add:
Walked almost 2 miles in order to check out my lights from the road. The office window lights can't be seen probably because the lights are on in that room. The kitchen and living room lights are just what I wanted people to see from the road so I'm pleased. I imagine someone stuck in traffic having something pretty to look at. Only about 10% of the apartments have something up.
We met our new neighbour today. I had met the man almost a month ago in the elevator and today we met the woman in the hall. Neither smell of cigarettes and they'd have to if the smell was coming from their apartment so we still don't know where the smell is coming from. Today was bad in the morning but was gone in the front hall by lunch time and the balcony door open kept the smell out of the living room and dining room (the only rooms it goes into strongly.) I closed the balcony door at 5 and turned the heat off again so the apartment is back to slightly chilly which is where dh likes it. I will say the heaters did a great job counter-acting the open balcony door so I know I can do that at any time. The balcony doors and office window are the only ones we are allowed to open in winter. The rest of the windows are above radiators and cold air falling on them can freeze the pipes so they can't be used in winter for more than a moment or two (i.e. no sleeping with an open window.) That's why I'm glad the residual heat in the apartment isn't stifling because I'd hate to have to sleep in a hot room.
Time for me to clean up the kitchen and run the dishwasher. Then bedtime.
Tomorrow is the retirement home Christmas Party (in honour of the volunteers so we just have to show up, we aren't working at all.)

Kathryn, I think I'll do that with the frozen food. I'd not ever thought of doing that! This pizza wasn't too bad. There wasn't much spicy sauce on it.
We are both so tired we could hardly move. Both stiff and sore. I got the sheets on finally but that was all I could do. Oh, a little more stuff put away and the ladders moved out of the way.
I think I'll sleep well tonight.
