Re: Friday Five by Five
Not doing well here. In paralyzed panic mode.
Spent a reasonable length of time developing an invite to our Boxing Day party. Spent 2x that amount of time trying to print it 4 per page but kept getting sets of lines that we'd have to trim off. Gave up and emailed it to dh. He couldn't use the .doc file so I had to print one 8.5x11 version to pdf, mail that to him and he was able to turn that into 4 per page. But still with the lines but two less lines than had to begin with. Sigh... So, 2:15 after I started the project, I washed my hands of it and had a really bad start to the day.
From there I made two more batches of squares, easy, no bake ones. So that is done.
S2s. So that is done.
Spent 45 minutes researching and ordering a present. Done.
Still have so much to do. We are eating dinner on the way to dh's concert so no cooking involved. I'll be there 90 minutes early. It is what it is. I'll try and take one project plus I'll help with set up.
Basted darts into the coat. Not sure if it makes it better. Shoulder pads might but I threw out all the shoulder pads I had saved when we moved so I won't bother. I'm hoping a pretty scarf and a pretty broach will help dress it up a bit. I'll look through my buttons for 2 pretty ones for the cuffs. Dh says those straps should come off because they look masculine. I'd buy some except that I'm not interested in investing real money in the coat since I suspect it will result in liptstick on a pig.
Put on fresh nail polish for tonight. Nails are in terrible condition so it is just clear. Still not sure what I'm wearing tonight. Dh will be in grey pants, white shirt, black jacket (ds's) and a red bowtie so I'm thinking a red top with black fur trim over black pants. If it fits.

Re: Friday Five by Five
Here is my 5 for tonight:
1. DD12 and I to Christmas concert
2. Shop for 3 gifts
3. Hose bib
4. Door fix
5. Email check
Has anyone been able to get the list functions on the posting page here to work? By this, I mean the buttons labelled 'List' and 'List='. I could not get them to work and standard HTML list commands didn't work either.
I have solved the problem of getting my columns to deploy and display, now I would like the numbers to be accurate.

Re: Friday Five by Five
I finally heard back from dfriend S and all is well. I also got fired from my registration job tonight, which is fine with me!
They need parents helping who can put the kids in small groups based on friendships, connections, etc. I don't know this group of kids well enough to do that. Maybe 35 - 50 kids?
Done:
- emails with dfriend S
- a.m. routine
- lunch
- listened to one CNN newscast
- phone calls, mainly dh
Hmmm.... not too much done.
Next:
- hand wash that wool sweater
- listen to another newscast
- update laundry
- gather items
- leave for tutoring at 3:15

I'll second that @#$%!!! except that mine is not related to this list. I got my prescription card in the mail, and was on its website activating it, when the page suddenly changed to a page informing me that the system was going down for maintenance! I had only partially finished the registration, so I don't know what my status is. And I need to order some meds, like NOW. ACK!!!

Re: Friday Five by Five
Home again after dMacs PT. I'll vent along with the rest of the village - I've done a very poor job of planning and flying by the seat of my pants is running me ragged today. I have about about 1.5 hrs here at home before heading out for tonight and I've been on the run.
I need to walk - I still need 5K steps for the day
and need to get dressed and put on makeup. Not sure about the "child's gift" I ended up getting a book - Good night Moon and it's bagged up pretty by the shop where I got it. While I was there, also bought a small gift for the host/hostess for tonight and another copy of Good night Moon for the neighbor across the street who just had a grand daughter. She and her retired dh are baby sitting this month after her dil went back to work, I thought I'd go for a visit one day next week with a little gift.
So I am going to head out and at least get a good walk with Moe and see how many steps I can get. It won't take

Re: Friday Five by Five
I'm at 12.5K steps for the day so can not worry about moving around tonight!
Dh and I walked to the far end of our urban 'village' to the post office and bank. It is about 1.25 miles each way, maybe 1.3. We took a new, quieter, walking route and enjoyed looking at the houses along the way. Found a specialty (organic, 100 mile) butcher tucked in behind the main street. If I need bison, venison or rabbit, I know where to go!
I have 30 minutes until it is time to leave for dinner out. Have to cut up the squares and figure out what to present on, plus I have to change. But I'm taking 5 minutes to sit and rest from the walk. I'm pretty sure my regular winter walking boots (not for deep snow) will not do this year. Even with my orthotics in them, my feet and knees were hurting after a very short distance. Will try my deep snow boots next. If they don't work, not sure what I'll do for walking in winter. My hiking boots come up higher than my winter walking boots but the grip on them is not sufficient and my footing is unsure. I was commenting how sure my footing was to dh and he was relieved since his hiking boots don't grip well either and that's what he was wearing! I thought he was holding me to reduce the stress on my knee but in fact I was holding him up as well!

Lucylee: forgot to mention that I'm in a very foul mood today as well. Definitely not good company. And I have to be nice to a whole pile of strangers tonight. Sigh...
