My bad mood was Wed. Over it now.
Got a gift bag sewn up yea & did some pre prep. For the Hanukkah gift basket.
It is raining here now.
CNN has more bad news school in Portland area sigh. But I do not think we have any nieces or nephews that age or in that school.
cookies are baked, coffee is on it is just me hens feds roosts up light is on. ToddlerN is gone.

Got the prescriptions transferred and all data updated on their site. In addition to a computer downtime, my new company does not know how to transfer prescriptions from my old one. The NC told me I had to call the OC and have OC call them. OC said that is not how it generally works and they have had lots of people call with this problem. Of course, they were able to handle it because it had happened so much, but I could tell that the representative was unhappy with NC. It did take a lot of arranging by her to get the two pharmacists on the line to talk to each other, when the standard procedure is one pharmacist calls the other. Nothing like adding complications where none are necessary.

While I was on hold, I re-examined my work task list and found there was one I can knock out pretty quickly. I had kind of forgotten it while working on calculated columns. I have moved that task from 'To Do' to 'In Progress'. Gotta go make progress on it. See you later.

I finished DGD's "Giggles" off-white vest, sewed on a yellow smiley face button, and it's so adorable!

I marched in place, while standing and crocheting for 30 minutes, to exercise as I crocheted.

Got groceries put away, from DH's trip to town.

We had a HUGE STORM here last night, power blinked on and off, but never went out, which is great. Limbs fell on the long driveway, but no trees are downed ON the driveway. There are in the neighbor's woods and we heard another big tree fall, but it's not certain where it was, who's property.

It's 2:26 p.m. here, I just went on-line, and for 5 things, to do by 5 p.m., well?
1- To do DGD's vest = done,
2- To log my yesterday's exercise = done,
3- To get my new blog free Friday book = done,
4- To empty, fill, and run the DW = done,
5- To help DH put away groceries = done,

NOW, I'd like to do:
1- Read my daily meditation, I missed yesterday, I was just too busy! X = DONE!!!
2- To read and sort the mail, when it comes; it's late today, X = DONE!!!
3- To get to row 20 on DGD's ribbed hat,DONE AT 5:02 P.M. !!!
4- To write my journal exercises, from a companion book prompt, X = DONE!!!
5- To write in my regular journals.....X = DONE

I'm trying for rolling tasks today. Something done every .15 in mini tasks. Except for the long time it took me reading here.

Markets, and something to buy. Rainy day here so I'll be quick.

It appears a group hug is in order. I read too-full schedules and long to-do-lists resulting in less-than-sweet moods.

Kathryn, can you put your ice gripper things on your boots to make them work better?

I rarely make lists any more. I just got out of the habit. Even 5 x 5 lists. I don't often forget really important stuff, but I often just run out of time and energy and can't get it all done. That happens a lot around here.

Today I was stuck on the phone a while. I put the headphone on, but ended up sitting down so I could concentrate better. That ate up a lot of time, plus I got up late. Then DH needed me to take him out to jobsite. He needed to do some work out there before the cabinet people could finish. So after that I followed him back in to town. We needed our big truck here for jobs in the closer area.

I got the packages wrapped and boxed up and off to the post office. Sent the birthday card separately because I forgot to put it on the package before I sealed it up. Then I went to another 5 stores and finally found ONE.MORE.GIFT. At this rate I'll never get done!

DH was working on the big truck when I got back so helped him for the rest of the afternoon. He is trying to get the big heavy bumper back into shape from where he crushed it on a telephone pole. He backed into the pole in a rain storm one day. We got it half way back and then it got dark...so that's on the list for tomorrow. Sigh..does it ever end?

Several more things to do before bed tonight, better get to it.

Wrapped the gift I need to carry tomorrow.

Made a call that was a little tough to make - a lady with whom I don't seem to "mesh" well, who had not yet gotten her gift in. Unfortunately the "home" number as listed in our revised directory is actually her "cell" number. Yikes. So I disturbed her, and her work is as a teacher. Oops. But she was very pleasant and laughed at the situation. She is sending the gift by someone else, which is fine except that now we rely on that person's memory, so we're back to square one hoping all is well.

One delivery of presents arrived (the first prime one) and the other not yet here.

Dd34 wonders if we would let her continue our subscription to prime as a gift to us. I thought it was fine. Asked HRH and he is against it, thinks it could make us order what we don't really need. Hmmm... ..

Never even posted that. So much going on. Bunch of other packages arrived. At first I thought they weren't mine, but yes, just 4 things shipped individually for some reason. Gee, I bet that shipping cost would have been high... ..

Now I see a group hug has been in order while I've been so busy. Must CUOP!

Went to grocery on school run (after dd's club meeting). Picked up dd34's collection of Christmas wrap from "her" house.

Lovely call from dcousinMary. She is so sweet. Many encouragements/appreciation passed on from the extended family for my work getting family photos around.

When she was named Mary, a secret was that my dmother shed a brief tear in private, because her dream of having a little girl to name after my grandmother was not coming true. But if anyone deserved the name, Mary always has. Her kind heart is as patient as our grandmother's. And 9 months later, I showed up and was, of course, absolutely delightful, you know , named for my grandmother's dear sister, making her happier still.

Getting the tree and front rooms decorated, but my get up and go is lacking. I'm keenly aware that even though I may be away all tomorrow morning and even mid-day for church work, tomorrow is still a Sat before Christmas and visitors may come. They will find our front rooms cluttered with new deliveries, cardboard boxes and bubble wrap, even though decor is happening.... ...

One reason for WAY in advance shopping may be that a tree could be made to look more beautiful with all packages finished under it early.

But gee, if one does EVERYTHING early, the season would seem so formal.

Dinner is done. Watching "gold rush" catching up on it. I need to spiff up the kitchen. We have rainpart of the storm Ff mentioned.
Hens are tucked in for the night. Living room hot spots have been doused!

Trying a diff stitch with some knitting that is not coming out the way I had in my mind sigh. Oh well I will have think on this one I guess.

Yes, those were 2 insightful points, nancy. Thank you! I never even thought about feelings being a little more sensitive with the stress of the holiday season.
Harriet, I really don't think she thought the article would hit my buttons. I don't think she realized I had these buttons (I'm not sure I did either) and we have talked about the general subject of the article before. Actually, I agree with the article in principle. It seemed the article was kind of based on a straw man representation of "the church" and it had a bit of a prima donna-ish attitude to it. However, isn't it nice to have Christmas arriving at your doorstep?

I had a lazy evening, watched An Affair to Remember which dfriend B had recommended. I also ordered 3 gifts for baby J. I think I'll buy her an outfit and be done with her gifts. It is fun to shop for little ones!

Rambling again, but it's fun this time! Dd16 came home and told me about the youth group adventures. The youth group has this annual Christmas "scavenger hunt" in the mall. So, youth group alumni, youth group staff (pastor and other workers) + one of our main pastors all dressed up and spread out across the mall. There were 22 of them. The youth group kids are put into groups of about 6 each. Their task is to find all the church people wandering around the mall and have them sign a piece of paper. I think it was quite the sight. . . Dd16 said there were about 11 groups, so close to 70 kids. (Dd16 said most of them were from our church. I actually don't know how large our youth group is; a couple of the larger grades have graduated.) Um . . . . the costumes weren't exactly orthodox. Dd16 was giggling over 2 staff workers who were basically cross dressed as women. One apparently looked particularly horrible and odd. . . He had even borrowed his wife's, well, b ra and stuffed it. The youth pastor was dressed very convincingly Goth. He is a long distance runner so he is stick thin and apparently has this slouch so he could pull the look off. A couple of dd19's friends were there; one had a convincing fake beard. There was a lot of wig wearing and clothes stuffed with pillows, etc. Last year, the youth pastor shaved his head. Anyhow, dd16 said there would be funny scenes in the mall, an odd looking person or two hurrying through the mall with a small group of kids speedwalking after them . . . I'm sure the mall was already crowded as it was! They went back to the church for food and a short lesson after the scavenger hunt. Dd16's group found 18 of the people.

I'm stuck in my Cmas shopping. I'm not sure what to get R or one more gift for dh. Or the kids. Well, I have at least one gift for each kid, but a list from each would be helpful.

I've looked briefly at hotels in Chicago. I should probably get that done. I think the cheaper rooms might be gone already.

Alright, I'm going to bed. Tomorrow is another day, thank goodness. --- Actually, I'm going to order a couple commentaries for the new study my mentee and I will be starting together on Monday. She wants to study a gospel, which I think is a fine idea! It took a while to get there; she wanted to do other things before.

I finished the sewing on DMIL's gift a short while ago. I need to let it set overnight now before a final inspection and pressing. I don't think I will take it to the sewing group meeting tomorrow to show, because I'm afraid it will somehow get dirty or damaged, and I won't have time to sew another before brunch with the ILs on Sunday.

Two meetings in a row tomorrow. First thing in the morning will be the monthly sewing group meeting with the general membership. After that will be lunch with the sewing group board, to transition from this year's board members to next year's.

After the meetings I need to stop by wm to try again to trade in the co2 canister for the soda stream. Their shipment was late this week so they didn't have any when I was there Thursday.

Oh I just remembered some numbers I wanted to look at before the meeting tomorrow. And the dryer is buzzing. Well, this was a quick break!
