Every once in a while I get a case of acid reflex at night. I have a prescription of the "Purple Pill" on hand but I almost never take them. I've discovered I can get quicker relief by mixing about 1/2 tsp of Baking soda into a 1/2 cup of water and drinking it. I don't care for the taste (very salty) but it gives me relief in just a few minutes.

Finally online! It has been go-go-go all day.

I did get swimming and we got off to church on time.

Service went fine. We headed of quickly, stopped and Subway to pick me up a sandwich and I ate while dh drove us home.

Into the apartment but boots stayed on - I boiled water for hot water to lubricate our throats, and dh grabbed the song sheets. We put away the milk we picked up on the way home and then headed out again for the Christmas party.

It was at the building across the street so we walked across and got there around 1:25. Started the singing before 2, paused as more people came so they could eat and chat, then finished up right at 3 as planned.

Met a number of people from our building. Have been invited to a Christmas party in the penthouse for next week. Yay!

I asked dh if he felt like a walk (we were hot from singing) so we headed back to the post office and picked up a parcel I had a notice for. Came back home just a few minutes ago and are resting.

Need to head out in about 20 minutes because ds needs me to bring him some food. Then we'll have our dinner out as planned (there's a 'family' restaurant that I wanted to try and we were going to go on Friday but ran out of time.)

Dsis said Dmom's home from the hospital, on oxygen, has a helping friend, goes to the Dr. on the 21st, about her bacterial infection.

I had my sleep disturbed again. Coyotes, an owl, so wrote on a letter, then slept 9.5 hours, sleeping in until 10 a.m.

Got 4 hats done, so far, only 4 to go yet, but have 11 days, counting Christmas Eve.

My Tinnitus book left N. J. last night at 8:58 p.m., so is expected to be delivered here on Tuesday. I'll be able to read it prior to my Dr. appt., so that will be good, too.

It's sunny here, cool, but nice.

This is a quick C. I., but am Thinking of You ALL, waving hello, and have a great Sunday and upcoming week, too! :D

Slow for me today.
We went to church but I've done nothing much since.
Stomach thing is about to get the best of me and last night I just cried. I am scared to go to the doctor bc I am so terrified he will insist that I have a colonoscopy. I was crying bc of fear -- not pain. I don't really have pain, just mild cramping and pretty severe diahrrhea. And as y'all know, this has been going on for a while now... No hint of blood or anything like that. Just pretty constant.
Sorry if this is TMI... Just wondering if this also would have anything to do with why I'm so tired all the time.
All this, PLUS this persistent cough I can't shake, leaves me feeling pretty sorry for myself.

I'm trying to drink more water and less caffeine and artificial sweeteners -- and trying to increase fruits/fiber.
Any other suggestions?

Posting on phone bc dh has computer tied up. Will try to reply to others and be more sociable later.
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee!! Please, you need to see your doctor! This is nothing to fool around with. It may be something simple and you will wonder why you have waited for so long to see him. Either way you need to see what is going on. Please, Pretty Please! :) A colonoscopy is nothing. There is no pain. They will put you out for the procedure and you get up and go home. I have had 3 and there is absolutely nothing to doing it. The worst part is drinking the solution in prep for it. It tastes nasty but there are ways you can do it that won't be so bad. We all want you to find out. :)

(((LucyLee))) Coconut is suppose to help with diarrhea. My Daddy would eat a couple coconut cookies and get relief. I don't understand it but there are several articles that say it works.

I never made it to read the book. Instead I watched videos how to empty, clean, fill and maintain a hot tub. I have zero knowledge & experience with hot tubs so need to learn the basics. At least now I have an idea what to do......as soon as I find/schedule a time to do it.

Next up -
** prepare/serve dinner
** go to spellingcity.com to get LO spelling words for this week. Make up 3x5" cards
** sit with LO while he reads book for an AR test tomorrow.

Coconut does NOT "digest" in MY system and it's like I've taken a laxative! :? :x I had a referral on Sept. 18, done by my primary care Dr. for me to get a colonoscopy and it's been re-referred 3 TIMES now! It's nearly 3 MONTHS LATER and the insurance co. still cannot get it "right". My Dr. isn't happy at all, I feel like my hands are tied, so I'll give them another call tomorrow, to see if this 3-month wait is nearly done. I picked out a preferred G. I. Dr. for them to refer me to, so now I just sit and wait and wait and.... :x :? And tell my Dr., "I called them!" and hope there will be some action taken soon. At first, I thought it'd be done the week prior to Thanksgiving, giving my "luck" and now, I'm thinking how it'll be probably done prior to Christmas, being my "luck". But now, I'm thinking, it'll probably be in the New Year, or if I'm real lucky, maybe on Valentine's Day?

I agree, a colonoscopy is not a huge ordeal. The prep is a bit disconcerting, is all. But the day of, you're medicated, they keep you very comfortable, and they're all highly professional, they care, and you're in good hands. I've had 2 of them now, was very impressed with the Dr. and nurses, and am so glad I had them done, too. It's a good thing to get it done, especially if there are any changes you notice or if there's a family history of cancer or other G. I. "problems." I wish you my very best, Lucylee. I'll be thinking of you.

I hope you get well soon, Lucylee! A Dr. visit is in order, I believe. You'd feel so much better. Please, don't be scared. They're so compassionate, and are there to help their patients. It's a not-so-fun subject to talk about, but your Peace of Mind would be at rest. Take good care, my Dear Friend.

(((HUGS))) (((LadyM, FF, Norma))) -- I really appreciate y'all being so concerned about me... it's not like I'm bedfast or anything... in fact, after a good nap this afternoon, I did manage to motivate myself to do most of my daily/Sunday stuff -- watered plants, wrote check for the paper man, s/s kitchen & both bathrooms, took my vitamin & calcium supplement (but left off the magnesium supplement. Dmom told me to take magnesium w/calcium b/c calcium is constipating. I figure I could use a little more of THAT.)

LadyM, I'm kinda like FF said -- I think coconut has a laxative effect on me, too -- BUT... OTOH... all citrus fruits do too, but I'm going to try to start eating more of them, at least for a few days, to see if the additional fiber will help, overall. I ate an apple today, but now I'm out of apples, and I have a HUGE bunch of oranges (bought too much from band fundraiser) so... I'm going to see how that goes.

If the cough doesn't get better, I'll HAVE TO see the doctor about that. It is really bothering me more than the stomach upset, as far as making me feel bad. The stomach upset is just making me nervous, b/c of the stupid reason re: what the doctor might say. The prep for the test bothers me about as much as the test itself. I just don't know if I can get all that drink down me w/out gagging or throwing up. And the IV bothers me... I've never had one since ds was born 31 years ago...
BUT... I keep hoping (dh says I'm wrong) but I keep hoping doctor might could tell something just from a blood test or stool sample. DH says nope, he will definitely tell me to have the colonoscopy and that will be that. I think dh thinks I'm a little bit over-reacting.

FF, I'm so glad your dmom is home from the hospital. How far away from you does she live? It's so good she has a friend there to help out.

Yep... 11 days... dh changed the little Santa countdown blocks...
I am ALMOST finished. If that ebay guy gets ds's video in this week, and dfriend gets dmom & ddil's sweatshirts done, then all I have to do is
* ornament for dmom
* ornament(s) for ds/ddil
* a bunch of stuff for dniece, whose birthday is Saturday
* gift cards for dnephew & dbil

Okay... dh is ready to go... must leave again. My computer time seems severely limited lately. * sigh *
Tomorrow is another day.

Oh, Lucylee, you need to find the courage somewhere to go to the dr. None of us like having to do these things, but we must. We are our own parent and must take care of that child inside that gets so afraid of new things. Oh, if I was having problems I wouldn't increase fruit. Or fiber. One needs fiber, but too much, oh my. It's probably just nerves causing it all anyway.

We got the garbage and recycling out for pickup tomorrow. I made dinner. We've had a nice fire going and I've been sitting there writing my Christmas cards. 15 this year. I made 2 personal letters to include (both individual for that person) and wrote small notes inside most of the rest of them. I have one more personal note to write and I'll be all done. I noticed this year we're not getting very many cards at all. Anyone else notice this?

If I was really ambitious I'd go wrap the gifts I have so far. But I'm not ambitious. So I think I'll go back to the fire and write that last letter and call it a day.
