Blessed, I'm sorry you've been criticized. I always think, "they'll be my age someday and understand"...

MT, I can't get up easily either. Neither can DH. With him it's his knees. With me it's my thigh muscles.

I looked at that gym today that I've been contemplating, and it isn't opened yet, but soon I guess. Still thinking about that. Sure would like to get some strength in my legs.

Awful, really awful trip out. Passed a fender bender on the way to the post office. Someone stopped, lady in back of her did not. I was mindful of a vehicle beside me, watching as I was in right turn lane and he was in go straight lane. Sure enough he zipped in front of me to turn and almost hit me. Said a prayer of thanks.

Then I did my post office chore, and came out, was unlocking door when BAM WAM there was an accident right where I was going to pull out. It's a bad spot, busy road with a shopping center directly ahead...I just stood there in tears. I found another way out of the parking lot. I'll never go that way again. As I was going up the road the ambulance was going to the accident...

And my time in the stores was awful too. Long long lines, people trying to text to get their rewards pin # and something I bought for 3.99 turned out to be 9.99 (was on the wrong peg) and I had to get into another long line to get that refunded..not worth the 9.99. Then a semi in front of me on busy road stopped and finally made a left hand turn from the right lane...and I was worried about people coming up behind me stopped on the main highway.

I need chocolate. Or a drink. Or something. sigh...

Home again. Picked up dmom's meals, stopped a balloon store to order balloons for tomorrow night, prolonged two hours at temple working on final details for dinner and ironing out lots of opinions, (forgot to sign cks, tho) then visited dmom and grocery and home again.

I don't know if I mentioned this morning that dh had indicated he will be home for dinner w family tonight, but by the time I had it together to call and discuss with dkids, dd had made plans to go out for evening. Then ds texted me saying he was going out with dd also. Sigh. I had hoped for an evening all of us together and asked dh earlier in the week if he was busy tonight. I had already gotten some items for dinner including cookies for dessert by the time he texted me.

I think I'll set a timer and do a short nap myself.

I really am feeling like I'm not doing a great job at anything right now. Yesterday's temple drama was getting a not too nice email from a fellow board member about the dinner. No good deed (co-chairing this dinner) goes unpunished, for sure.

Hmmmm, nap sounds good.

Dh and I wrote a letter to the Senate asking for a full explanation of their clerical error to be sent to the other bidders so as to not besmirch (what a great word!) our reputation.

Then we gathered up the recycle and garbage and took it downstairs plus a pile of stuff for the storage locker and car. On the way back up we picked up the mail (forgot to check for flyers) and bought chips for dinner. We'll have those and burgers. We debated going the restaurant at the theatre but the entrees start at $35 and I just can't spend that sort of money on a meal out. We simply don't get enough out of it to be worth the money. On the other hand, I'm still thinking about how much fun our $10 lunch (total!) was at the chip wagon. Priorities, priorities!

Ran into the super and chatted with him while we were out.

Next up, I need to check the online flyers to see if ground beef is on sale this upcoming weeks since I didn't get out to the store after all.

BTW: I wrote my minister last night saying I wasn't in the mood to write a service because I was so angry about the contract and he wrote this morning offering up anything I wanted from the services he's written for this upcoming week, even his sermons. I really love him! (Didn't need to take him up on it, but love that he offered to help me.)

toot-toot...I am done and have no intentions of entering any store from now until after Xmas except to buy fresh veggies from the grocery store.

I was in and out of the post office to mail a package in less than five minutes...this was the third attempt and must have been the charm.

The puppies have food and so do we. Beef is on sale and though I don't plan on cooking any for the holidays did buy some to put in the freezer. May go back in a day or two to do the same.

Harmony...I had a near accident the other day when a woman went down the road the wrong way and was headed straight towards me. I stopped and she turned left never evening seeing me. Woman behind me saw it all happened and when I looked up into my mirror, she was shaking her head at the other driver. Way too crazy out there and I am glad to be done.

Have a family/friend gathering this Sunday and I am making my white chocolate raspberry cheese cake to take. Lots of smiles over that.

Coloring my hair at the moment and its done, so I've gotta run....waving a big hello to y'all.

white chocolate raspberry cheese cake
Feel free to post the recipe in the recipe section, RR -I sure wouldn't be opposed. 2 of my favorite flavors!

DD has often complained that one of the needs at her school (of late) is better communication. Ya think? Last night on our way to pick up GD16, she said, that's "X" walking there. Wonder why he's on this side of town?? Today she saw his sister and asked her where he was going to school now? She asked why & dd said she saw him last evening. "WHERE? He's been missing for two weeks!" So she passed this info on to the new principal who knew he'd been missing. So she filed a police report, hoping they'd look in this area for this troubled teen. Had she known all this earlier she would have called the police right then and perhaps they could have found him before he gets into serious trouble. Sad. At least they might have a little bit more to go on. This student was well known for telling dd (and I'm sure other teachers), "You're on my last nerve." :?

Oh, my, I feel like I need to ((HUG)) many of you. So, ((HUGS)) to blessed, Kathryn, Harmony, Twins. I'm sure I've forgotten someone. I wish I could stay and comment more - I feel upset (along) with Kathryn re: the contract and harried with Harmony and Twisn - all that traffic in the stores and on the roads and issues with temple. I wish ddolder hadn't made those comments to blessed, but it sounds like you gave her grade re: her intentions and her different physical abilities.

Toot Toot! We're almost ready for the party! I just need to inspect the play room and tidy/dust it as needed and do a quick s/s in the bathroom downstairs. I doubt an adult will use it. . . . Dh came home around 3 and has been helping.

Dh started a fire in the fire place - but it's a bit early. People won't be arriving for another hour.

TOOT TOOT!!! I just got back from KICKING BUTT at a demo at payroll! It has been a meeting sort of day here.

Yesterday, on the way to work, my car felt funny on a long hill. On the way home, the check engine light came on. A quart of oil was needed, but given the reading, it is extremely unlikely that is the culprit. I did manage to get back in time to go caroling with the church folks, only to find it had been cancelled. People were afraid to drive in the snow. However, the snow had stopped, the roads were clear, AND they had managed to drive to the church for DINNER. Why not drive to the nursing homes to carol? I used the time to do some errands. I am pretty sure I got a speeding ticket. I know I deserved one and a bright light flashed as a passed a parked police car. (If I had seen it, I would not have been speeding). I did get two presents bought, and am down to one in-towner (due Saturday) and one out-of-towner (due 12/24). I worked on my ceiling repair and it is UGLY. Tonight, I need to get a rotary sander, more superglue, and more Kilz for ceilings. That must be done after activities with DD. (Having the extra day with DD is good for her and pleasurable for me, but it sure interferes with errands and chores).

DBrother is out of hospital as of last night.

Today, while not in meetings, I have: arranged car repair for Monday, arranged rental car for same, called one company about an IRA rollover (from), and emailed another about same (to). The rental car will cost half the amount of the repair! Need to do before I leave: fix a report, check a train schedule to accommodate late meeting on Friday.

Happy Birthday Ellyphant!!!

:D :D :D Happy birthday, Elly!!! :D :D :D

Thanks for input (J&C) re: my confessional quandry re: ds... I guess the thing to do IS keep my mouth SHUT, b/c (1) I know that is what dmom wants, and I cannot think of a single time she has given me bad advice (2) I know the situation as it stands now w/ds and there is no way to know what the situation will be later and (3) once it's said, it can't be UNsaid, so better to hang in limbo than to open a big can of worms for no apparent good reason except being afraid of What If someone else opens the can later, right?

A nap is a pretty good remedy for most things. I had a 2-hour nap, and now I (almost) have the energy to take a shower. ;)

(((HUGS))) help too, and I feel like so many of us need them, as helia said...

(((Harmony))) -- what a terrible day! Oh my goodness... and also for business concerns... Isn't this probably a slow time all around? I know I would not want to start any sort of projects right here so close to Christmas, and the contractor ds sings with and sometimes works for as a helper is doing very little right now.

Glad your dbro is out of the hospital, Elizabeth! Hope you get the car fixed ASAP and don't have to deal with rental for long.

(((blessed))) Dmom is ALWAYS telling me that I will be HER age some day and I will understand... and I am already telling ds that, in re: to our energy capacity re: time w/dgs. :) * Hope your dmil feels better soon!

(((Kathryn))) -- certainly hope you get some satisfaction from the Senate and anyone else involved in this snafu!

(((Twins)))... such frustrations... men and children can cause such frustrations... hope you can enjoy a night of peace and quiet on your own; you deserve it!

Dee -- that IS ridiculous that the school has no better communication than that! Wow. Hope the boy gets back home and things are resolved soon!

Waving to Rose, Nancy, MT... and EVERYONE else who pops in... it's a busy season, isn't it?
Tomorrow is another day.

Earlier this afternoon, I s2s, shampooed, shaved legs and pits, trimmed toenails, and did the fingernails the other day. They had grown out long, I was mis-typing on the keyboard, so trimmed them. I was crocheting and snagging on yarn. It reminded me of being in High School. My BFF milked cows every morning, before catching the school bus. She had beautiful long fingernails and I did not. I grew them out, but did it at an awful time. I went to the State Championships, for talent, in band, and it was held at a college. I played piano, was quite good at it, too, so had applied to be adjudicated and perform "Solfigietto." I memorized it, could play it in my sleep, and when I walked into the music room, at the college, it was standing room only. Students were standing, sitting, and squatting, and sitting on the floor. I tuned them all out, as you're sorta in a "fog" at a performance. My adjudicator sat to my right side. I played a perfect song. When I finished, I rested my hands in my lap, and looked at the adjudicator. He said, "Miss, I would have given you a perfect score of EXCELLENT, if it had NOT been for your fingernails! They tap-tap-tapped throughout the song, all I could hear was dreadful clicking, and you're getting an average score. I suggest you trim your fingernails!!!!!" I turned 50 shades of red, I was mortified, he handed me my certificate, and I slowly walked out, as everyone stared at me, and felt like a whipped puppy with her tail between her legs, as I exited. I never have been able to do the typing or keying, with long fingernails. This is why I don't attempt having the fills either. Done that, been there, it's smelly, time-consuming, and it's not in my schedule to make appt.'s to go. I admire women who have long fingernails though. I just keep mine short now.

I re-did my medications/supplements list for Dr.'s, the dentist, eye specialist, and 1 for my purse, in my planner, in case of emergency. I was stunned that I had not put my rescue inhaler on the list, nor Naproxen. I'm so relieved it's finally done. Only a few things to fill out now. I'm going to go back to the scrunchies. It's a release, it's restful, productive, and I love to do it.

I received 3 letters in the mail. I got a free offer for a book, from RBC Ministries, for a book I'd already bought from them. They offer it for free. It's a great book, called "It's Me and it's Urgent!" It has poems, verses, quotes, and short little essays in it. I decided to say "YES!" to them, so I may mail it, with crocheted dishcloths, to a dear friend, for her b-day. It's perfect for her.

It's not raining, but it's not dry either. It's misty and occasional sprinkles. It's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow, be stormy all weekend, but we have no place to go this weekend. DH watches sports on the weekends. It's nice. I crochet or read, putter and write letters or on a story, while he watches. I sorta watch, too, so we can interact.

Have a great afternoon - evening, Everyone! :D

Back from errands. Most of the groceries are put away and I am heating soup for supper.

I ended up staying and doing all of the shopping at wm because I needed some name brand food items -- my oldest sister only likes 1 particular brand and flavor of gum, I have learned from experience to only use Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk when I make fudge, DH likes the SodaStream decaffeinated diet cola -- and some other things that Aldi doesn't have. I got to wm at the right time because, although they did not have any CO2 canisters for me to exchange the empty, they had everything else on my list and were not terribly crowded.

That will get us through the weekend. I will try again Monday or Tuesday to exchange the CO2 canister. It's the spare and I just changed it last week, but DH will be home extra days for legal holidays and he drinks a lot of pop when he's home.

Not sure what I'm going to do tonight. I need to eat and sit down for awhile.
