Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
Twins, great report!
I don't know where the time goes. I got a bunch of pickup done but there is still much to do. Kitchen is cleaned up, time to make the pies. I was making omelets for dinner and just cracked all the eggs when I thought, oh how many for the pies...and had to just make DH his because I needed the other eggs.
Wrote a thank you note.
Gave DH a tutorial on our website. Still have phone call to return.
Yikes, still a bunch to do.

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
Back from errands and supper is on the stove. It needs to simmer a few more minutes.
I did not have any luck finding a new top for oldest DSis. Need to figure out Plan B. I won't see her until Saturday so I have a few days. We don't usually exchange gifts, so she isn't expecting anything from me. I just feel bad that she can't come to the Christmas Eve party so I thought I'd give her a little something.
All of the parking lots and stores were crowded enough that I'm very glad that I don't have to do any shopping tomorrow.
I almost forgot to stop for gas, until the sign at Sam's jumped out and slapped me in the forehead -- $1.98 per gallon!
I never thought I'd see the price that low again in my lifetime.
Must clean up the kitchen after supper, and make fudge.
Better go check the pot on the stove ...

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
Christmas shopping was a success! The stores were busy but I've seen them much worse. I finished everyone except for DGS17 and I'm holding off buying his gift because he wants to go shopping with me. We have a date to do that on Friday. Nothing is wrapped yet, but I'll get to that in the morning. I hid LO's gifts in DH pickup. I'll retrieve them before LO wakes up in the morning and get them wrapped. I am soooo glad to have the shopping done!
While I was shopping LO stayed with DH and they installed the dryer! After almost 2 weeks of not having a washer/dryer in the BH, it feels absolutely luxurious to easily wash clothes and put them away. One more facet of running a home is once again in working order. Slowly OH so slowly we are getting moved & set up.

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
Dinner is over. The dishwasher ran during present opening and dessert. The hand dishes are not organized but it shouldn't be too bad.
Dh is taking dd and dsil home now.
Ds is in bed. He leaves in just over 2 hours.
I'm going to make up the jellied salad for Christmas Day and then start in on the dishes. Or maybe vice versa. We'll see. The house is pretty messy right now so I'll be easily distracted.
Singing went well at the nursing home. They were sweet.

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
Wow, LadyM, you did great! Kathryn, party sounds like a success.
This afternoon I did get the car washed and wiped inside and the windows shined inside and out. DH had already done the wheel clean thing. So all the dents and dings are clean now. I was thinking LadyM would have laughed to see how I did the car, with my hose and bucket and string mop to slop the suds on and wipe a bit. I think a rag does better, but this was easy and did ok.
Pies are baking. Dishes are all washed but in 2 heaps waiting to dry & be put away.
Isn't the gas price lovely. I need to fill up again tomorrow.

[/] bake cookies
* This is going to take forever... I've got SIX large pkg of slice and bake dough, but I mix in pecans and spoon them onto the cookie sheets. It should take about 4.5 hours to do all this dough, but I am stopping/starting constantly
[x] meet w/dbil
* Thanks for your prayers. I guess everything went fine... dh is happy... more in J&C
[x] pick up monogrammed sweatshirts from dfriend
[ ] finish wrapping presents
[/] laundry
* making a lot of progress on this while doing cookies
[-] (NOT) help dmom
* except to talk on the phone constantly. When she found out how long my afternoon had been w/dbil, and saw what a flood we are having, w/thunder and lightning, and realized dbro & gf would not be here till tomorrow, so she didn't have to have their bedrooms ready, -- all that considered, she told me to stay home.
And listen to this, I am so crazy. I took a dozen cookies out and TURNED OFF THE OVEN. So when I put the second dozen in and set the timer, they just sat there for 13 minutes in a warm oven. So? What to do? I set the timer for 6.5 minutes again, turned the oven back on, and... I guess they're brown enough. They all ran together and they look PITIFUL. These are the dozen I make (intended to make, anyway) for dnephew who is deathly allergic to all tree nuts. * shaking my head * He never eats cookies at Christmas anyway, but I always take some with no nuts for him. * sigh * He'll just have to eat very flat cookies this year if he wants them.
I so much want to cuop but I have to do all this in 13 minutes segments, once I get ahead on the cookie scooping...

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
Fudge is cooling. I will cut & package it in the morning as soon as I'm awake enough to be able to safely handle a large knife.
I'm too tired right now to deal with the complicated mending project my red coat will require. I will try to get to it tomorrow. However, I doubt very much that anyone else will notice if I wear it as is. Mostly I want to fix the problem before it gets bad enough to be really obvious, but it will not be a quick job to sew.
DH said if he goes to work early tomorrow, he will be able to leave early. Depending on traffic, he should get home around 4 and we should leave for DSis's between 4:30 & 5:00.
DSis wants to start the meal at 6.
On paper, everything still on the list looks possible in the available time.
Of course, I have crossed a lot of things off the list as being lowest priority and therefore Not-Going-To-Happen. I have a lot less stress in my life since I lowered my expectations about what is necessary for successful holiday celebrations.

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
I made the jellied salad. Dh came home and helped by washing and I dried and put away the kitchen things. The dining room items are on the table. I'm too tired to do that now.
We watched the original Miracle on 34th Street while we worked.
Tomorrow I need groceries and to make the tortieres. We leave here at 4:30 (at the latest) so will take a picnic dinner of leftovers to eat between services. I need to cook and freeze bacon tomorrow as well.
I also have to get the charitable donations done. They've been on my to-do list for too long and the deadline looms.
Next up. Bedtime. Late again. On the other hand, I've already done tomorrow's 10K steps (I'm well ahead on my goal for the month.)

Re: Tuesday To Do/Ta Dah!
DH baked cookies 2 - 3 nights ago, pre-cut on a mini-sheet, from the "Frozen" DVD movie theme. That's all we're doing this year, for Christmas baking. I had years where I slaved over a hot stove, baking to ying-yang. We bought cookies and cheesecake for Christmas Day.
Saw my G. I. Dr., really liked him, he's a Christian, and very nice, compassionate, bright, helpful, and informational, too. He and I discussed my old IBS drug study med, he wrote a prescription for it for me to try, and a prescription for the colonoscopy prep things. It'll be in the New Year, which is fine by me. At least I can enjoy Christmas AND New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
Just a quick C. I. again, I'm afraid. I'm tired out from our drive, it was a big day, and I'm about to fall asleep.
Have a good sleep, Everybody! Waving goodnight, to you all!

Shucks just lost a post. Forgot to put meat pies in after turning on the oven so dinner was late.
Walked bs crashed. Got the bathrooms mopped and some spots by the sink too.
