Ah, yes, this is a caring group. Love all the wisdom here. Liked your thoughts, Harmony, and how you seem to be able to keep perspective with the practical rhythms of life. Yes, I'm a bit like a balloon too, but a balloon that needs to refill itself starting tomorrow.
I didn't get too much done today beyond groc. shopping, laundry, and hosting the C family (R, S, and baby J) tonight. J is becoming so fun!! She's almost OK with the dogs now and is saying more and more words. Anyhow, I'll need to be focused tomorrow to get ready for dfriends. Also, my mentee emailed me tonight, wanting a date for us to Skype for our study, so I feel I need to do some background reading and email her some Qs soon. I did email her back tonight. She is so on the ball and so eager, very easy to mentor, actually.
I'm going to say it is OK that I didn't get more done today. I'm peopled out after the trip. I love dh, but I did start to get irritated w/ him, not b/c of something specific he did but just b/c he doesn't leave me alone well. He's always asking me questions or talking to me, and at night, he sleeps so close that it feels like he's glued to me. . . . LOL! I'm sure some wives would love all that, but like some (many?) of you here, I'm the introvert and he's the extrovert, so sometimes I just have my fill of people. I probably would hate being married to another introvert like myself, though.
I'm going to read commentaries to prep for mentee for about 30 minutes and then go to bed.

Re: Monday Race to the Finish
Finished more account reconciliation so I'm almost caught up. Two more to go, both easy accounts with only a few charges a month (compared to my 3 page statement from Visa!)
It feels good to be almost caught up with this. Nothing bad happens when I'm not, most of the time, but it does feel better when Quicken agrees with the bank or credit card company because then I know I can just check Quicken and not have to pull statements or go online for the balance.
I've also shredded 6 months of chits for one account, 2 for another three so that means my file folder where I keep them is back to not needing an elastic to keep it shut!
Off to bed now, very late, but with something accomplished.

Re: Monday Race to the Finish
Don't really have much time to CUOP from today, but wanted to "pop in" to say hello-- er, uh,
-- Goodnight. Will try to get here a bit earlier tomorrow. Time's gotten away from me today/tonight.
Hope everybody had a great Monday race to the finish.

Re: Monday Race to the Finish
I'm still up working. We have the worst cell phone company. DH called them this morning. I called twice this evening. Supposed to get a call back. Trying to switch auto fill/credit card to another card as original card was one stolen a few days ago. We've had a real big mess straightening all this out. Company never did call back. Never.
On their website I couldn't get the credit card thing to work and they couldn't help...so after hours of waiting / trying different things I tried one last thing and that was the key...and now it's changed but I still have a dead phone. Wouldn't you know it tried to recharge right when the old card was cancelled.
Also had the website people try to recharge with same cancelled card. Their customer service is absolutely the best and they helped me fix that immediately. I just discovered I need to order DH another medicare card as that was gone too. Our supplement ins. co. already sent those cards to replace ours gone. Still waiting for 1 very important card to come.
I wonder if that stupid cell co. will call once I go to bed. Probably.

Re: Monday Race to the Finish
DH called a service he no longer has need for, on his old computer, because he doesn't use a computer any longer. They had automatically charged him $79 on Christmas Eve. They were nice about canceling their automatic service, as I don't use this on my laptop either.
I got to thinking this evening, how if DH was automatically renewed on HIS service, I'd better CANCEL one of MINE, too! I called them, they were nice about it, wanted to know if any other computer in the house wanted it. It's so difficult for these people to understand when we're a 1-computer family!
I was then told, how about my tech support, from them, ALSO, which I paid for this year.
I said to cancel it, I never ever used it all year, and we're on a fixed income, cannot afford it, and if something goes wrong, I'll bring my computer in. They tried to tell me, yes, but the cost would be the same, but I repeated myself. However, 1 product they did put on my laptop, I raved about to them, told them I use it all the time, and am very, very happy with it.
It's so nice to begin the New Year, with 3 less automatic renewals, due the end of January!
