When I could not fall asleep despite being tired and sleepy, I decided to visit the village!
I didn't make it out of the house on Monday. I started having a tummy issue. I called to see if dd1 needed anything from the store. She had decided to have chili and she did need something. So I gave her a very short list of things I needed.
It started snowing yesterday afternoon. We're suppose to get 4 inches.
I fixed poached eggs yesterday for breakfast. So as I was tossing and turning, I kept thinking of poached eggs.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN & TWIN'S DH! Also, Happy Belated to whoever I missed while I was at my sickest.
Kathryn, I feel for Ken and all his nose blowing. I feel like I have blown out my weight, in the last 2 1/2 weeks. Sorry for TMI!
Before I got sick, I would have loved to get together for game night at dd2's for New Year's Eve. At this point, I just want to feel well again and be sitting at home.
I have been watching recorded H allmark Christmas movies, since Friday.
I have been up an hour, so will try again to sleep. I have just been sleeping on the sofa. With us both feeling so cruddy, it works better.
HAPPY belated 50th ANNIVERSARY MT & MR MT! I am anxious to hear about your family celebration, after you get rested up from having company.

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
Forgot to come back after we got home last night to wish Mr & Mrs MT a very HAPPY 50TH. Our very best to you and may you have improved health.
Happy Birthday Ken and Twins Dad. Seems like we just wished that for them -oh maybe 3 or 4 months ago. Time does fly.
No time to cuop from later yesterday or post much. We're leaving within the next 1/2 hour for db/dsisil's. They're about 1 3/4 hours from us in Homassasa. Can't wait to see them -last time was in the spring.
Spent most of yesterday and evening at Disney. Had a really nice time and I managed to get in almost 9,000 steps for a change. I take a rolling walker with me and I guess that's now a staple for our Disney trips. I can keep up and walk so much better. Don't get as tired and I have a place to sit and wait. Also gets us in some places a little easier.
Have a great next to the last day of 2014 everyone!

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
Good morning, it's a big To Do day for me with cooking and getting house together for dh's bd tonight. Didn't get confirmation until bedtime that friends can join us - this is a couple and she just had her own bd. So it will be seven with four of us plus Z, and two more. We'll want to use DR then, where wrapping paper is still piled up.
Just realizing that I have a lot to get done today.
Broad TO DOs:
-grocery
-make lasagne sauce
-put lasagne together and bake for supper
-make challah in breadmaker
-rest of dinner
-get house together, including dining room set up
-get in 10K steps today
-what else?
For the moment:
-get dressed, brush teeth, wash up etc.
-meds/vitamins, me + ddogs
-make grocery list
-straighten GR
-head out for groceries
Poor ddogs will have to wait until lasagne sauce is underway before they get their walk.

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
I'm up and moving a bit.
Need to really move today because I did less than 4K steps yesterday. Got working on the paperwork which needs to be spread out so couldn't work on the treadmill. By the time I took a break and could have been on the treadmill, it was 10 p.m. and although our neighbours claim they can't hear it, I didn't want to test that out.
So I will get on the treadmill for 4 - 5 twenty minute segments today.
Am sitting right now because I'm having tea (too dangerous on the treadmill!) and about to start reconciliation on the last two accounts.
I put up the happy birthday sign over the office door on my way to bed and remembered in the night to wish him happy birthday. So I didn't forget this year!
Ds called but we couldn't hear him talking so still not sure what the plan is for tonight. He'll need to sleep until late afternoon. I'm hoping we can all go to dinner and a movie together this evening.

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
Trying to jump back in here, after a much more extended Christmas season (celebration-wise AND responsibility-wise) than I have had in a long time kept me from normalcy. So much new church responsibility took a great deal of time from the first of the season, and then with everything a bit behind, my green-eyed boy became ill with lots of upchucking.
The result was a division of celebration(s) (although they were each wonderful), with ddil finally getting to come here at all and enjoy some gift opening last evening.
Wishing marvelous birthdays to Ken in Canada and Twins' Dad!
Lilac, sorry to hear you had been sick.

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
Good morning everyone! And Happy Birthday to DHs of Kathryn and Twins' Mom! And Happy Anniversary to the EmptyNesters!
Got several things off my list yesterday: bill pay, Quicken update, check order, toothbrush order, email to dad. I did not have enough $$$ to pay all of MasterCard, which was high due to airline tickets. However, I get paid twice a month, and when the next check comes in, I will pay the rest off. Odd thing when I ordered toothbrushes: at the end of my order I was offered a chance to update my friends. This company only sells dental stuff and they think I should post the orders on Facebook? Not happening! The book did not need recheck, so I didn't do that.
What I still need to do from yesterday's list:
check Christmas cards to make sure I have not forgotten anyone
thank you notes
email SIL 2B
Added:
get Styx details
calendar update
transit reimbursement file
webwork

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
Good morning all! Nice to see you Harriet. Glad you survived your busy holiday season.
A Very Happy Birthday to Ken and Mr. Twins!!
Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Emptynester!
I'm still in the midst of holiday responsibilities, though I did have a one day reprieve after our travels. Phase 2 starts today. Dfriends E and C from TX will be arriving here around 2:30 - 3:30 this afternoon. Dd19 has admirably tidied her bedroom for them. I will spot clean the carpet (there are brown spots which she claims she cleans and then they reappear. . .
), vacuum, and dust as I can. Her shelves are chockfull of books and knick knacks.
Dh has just left for a run. It is 21* outside, so too cold for me. We're finally getting some cold temps. this week. And we finally have some snow in the forecast, Saturday afternoon/night, 1-4". The forecast also says ice pellets for Saturday. Yuck! Of course, Saturday is far enough away that the forecast can change.
With apologies to Harriet, so far today, I have:
- gotten up
- had bfast
- dogs out; dogs in
- refilled dogs water bowl
- fed g. pigs
- checked emails
- checked band camp dates for dd16
- emailed small group re: next meeting and summer camping
- written out menu plan for the week (it was already made; I just forgot to write and post on the fridge)
- written out list for the week and for today
- had half QT
ToDos/Brain Dump:
- a.m. routine - finish
- dd19's room ready for guests: the room is tidy. I just need to dust as can be done, spot clean carpet, vacuum
- clean sheets and bedding on bed
- bathroom downstairs clean
- 30 minutes decluttering bookshelves
- g. pig cage
- exercise?
- fold and put away sm. load of bedding in laundry room
- fold and p.a. load of darks in machine
- load of towels washed through to put away
- study and make Qs
- email mentee
- pet store?
- put check in mail for oboe reeds
- unpack books from trip
- start breadmaker? at 2:30
- dinner: roasted squash, roasted baby potatoes, pork with fennel and pancetta in cream sauce, bread
- downtown for dessert?
- buy wine and cognac for the fondue tomorrow night?
I'm tickled b/c dh and I have agreed on a plan to add sleeping arrangements to our home so we can sleep more houseguests more comfortably. I'm mostly tickled b/c I've gotten dh on board with this.
We will replace ds' bed with a double/queen bed and move the futon in dd19's room to the play room - and replace the futon mattress, which is 21 years old now. We will then put ds' bed in dd19's room. However, dd19 is balking at this plan b/c she likes sleeping on a larger bed (she sleeps on the futon) and want to continue to sleep on it. (Dd19's room also has her twin bed in it.) Alternatively, we could buy a 2nd fold out bed/futon to put in the play room and let dd19 continue to sleep on her futon - but then we have an extra twin bed and mattress (ds') and I'm not sure where we would put it. Honestly, it might still fit in ds' room along with a larger bed. The rooms in this house are all quite large.
Off to make progress on the a.m. routine. Yikes 3.5 hours and counting.

Re: Tuesday To Do's!
Home from groceries and bought a small carrot cake at WF also.
Closing for dsis' house is set for Monday afternoon - let's hope it happens this time.
-get lasagne sauce started
-put away groceries
-regroup, do a timeline for evening and lasagne baking
-respond to dfriends re: what time
-consult with dh re services on Friday night - I'm not inclined to attend, may suggest Shabbat dinner at home with dkids before they go back to school
Just rec'd an email from rabbi re: services friday night and honoring me on the pulpit....I'd rather not.
Still need to walk the dogs.
