Hello dear ladies
Ended up calling in today and stayed home.
Been resting in bed with my tablet.

I figured I should be okay with insurance since I work slightly over 30 hours each week so if I miss a little time my average should still be at 30. If not looks like I'll join dh on Obama care. Just don't need to stress over it.

One dson made me eggs and toast, my comfort foods.
Going to shower maybe the steam will help me feel better.

We spent several hours at the ER. Since it was the throbbing ear pain, with a stabbing sharpness thrown in, they of course focused on the ears. His left ear is very red and infected. They seem to downplay all the flu like symptoms. They did no bloodwork, no ua, just looked in the ear. We left with a prescription for an antibiotic. They also, want him to start using those ear drops that the specialist prescribed after he had cleaned all that fungus out. The guy who seen him is a nurse practitioner. We weren't real satisfied but what do you do? So dh may be going to the walk-in clinic first thing Monday.

While we were there it had started snowing, hard. We dropped off the RX and they said it would be 45 minutes. We came home and I got dh settled. We debated what I could pick up for our supper. Then I left to pick it up and also the RX.

I am glad to be home, because now the wind has picked up and the snow is blowing.

As I finished eating, I realized I needed to come back here and let you know what little we found out.

Dh told me that he had been sitting there thinking that the weekend is half over and he dreaded the thought of work on Monday. Then it hit him that it doesn't matter anymore.

I am not mentioning that bathroom remodel until dh mentions it. I don't want him starting the demo, before he feels a lot better that he has for the last 9 days.

Took down the Christmas tree. That was all it took to un-decorate. Wayne decided he wanted to spend his Ba ss P ro Shop gift certificate, so we went there and then went to C hapters and spent his gift card from there. I cannot tell you how delightful it is to finally have a man who reads more than I do.

It has been raining and snowing here on and off for most of the day. We had to clear ice off of the truck before we went out.

Snow is 90% gone here now yes it will refreeze but we have a warming trend mid week so not to concerned about it.
Drive way was bare and dry when we got home.

Went to knitting meeting.
Store run done.
Pet chores done.

Had the new sandwich @ Arby's for our jeep date. That was good.
Yarn meeting was productive I now have 1/3 done on the current knitting project.

We are HOME! Thank the good Lord. I drove every mile of the way between Tampa and Auburn and Auburn and home. And I have to give credit to the Lord, b/c there is NO WAY I could have done that on my own. Y'all know -- I'm usually falling asleep after a couple hours' driving. It was truly a miracle that got us home -- but I actually feel pretty good, all things considered.

Everything is put away, but I need to take care of some bills, etc... and then I am going to RELAX.

(((LO))) (((BIG BIG HUGS))) -- and for you too, (((LadyM))) -- b/c I sympathize sooo much w/anxious children, having been one myself. I suspect this is a little phase though, related to the move, and the coming and going of dgd, change in routine w/school holidays. I predict LO will snap back to himself once things settle back down into a more regular routine for him, w/going back to school and seeing that everything continues in its normal way.

Also sending lots of feel better soon wishes to Mr. Lilac. That sounds like a rough infection! Ear pain is sooo hard to deal with anyway.

Lots of rain here, possibly stormy here tonight. I don't care. Good sleeping weather.

Also hope you feel better soon, Sadie. Such a sweet ds!

Snow started here around 1 p.m. There's 2" on the balcony and I imagine a lot more on the ground below since my balcony is sheltered by the balcony above.

I had a late start to the day but was s2s by 12:40. Had lunch then dh and I brought up almost all the Christmas bins from downstairs. Instead of using the dolly with holds at most 3, we used the rolling shelves from the storage closet in the apartment and got 5 bins and 2 boxes up at one time along with the tree bag (it has wheels.)

I worked a little bit, getting most of the centrepiece and some candles put away (but not everything off the table.) Dh was taking an afternoon off, watching a movie (yes, I realize it is Saturday but dh works 7 days a week so taking an afternoon off is a big deal. Of course, the computer was compiling while he was watching the movie, so it was completely like he was off.)

I read another couple of chapters of the book our friend wrote (dh read it first, now it is my turn) and then was so tired, I crawled into bed for 2 hours.

Dinner was just frozen meals and we watched Back to the Future. We are hoping to do a family watch of the second movie next week so dh wanted to watch the first one and I thought I'd be able to put away Christmas decorations since I know the movie so well, I just had to keep an eye on it. Except the movie was so engrossing, I didn't move once.

Dh wants to head to bed soon. The minister is driving him (and has already announced that church will not be canceled.) They are leaving here at 7:45. It is usually a 35 minute drive so they are giving themselves 1:45 to get there in time!

I'm more worried about my minister friend because the freezing rain is in his area much longer (and his first church is an hour away from his home, and the second is only 15 minutes closer to his house.) Glad we didn't have plans to go visit him this week.

I'm on the treadmill now while I check email and cuop. Then I'll get back to work on removing Christmas. While I was waiting for dinner to cook, I prepared a winter wreath to go on the inside of the front door. We aren't to have decorations on the outside, but I broke the rules so we could have a Christmas Wreath. I loved having a wreath up but will follow the rules for the other 11 months of the year.

Glad to see Mr. Lilac is home but can't say I'm happy with the attention he received at the hospital.

Don't have time to CUOP. Still have the "New Year's Crud," so didn't come here until 6:27 p.m. Been busy reading an e-book, sorting through files in a basket, and did 1 LOL. Took 1 short nap, too. Have browsed through 3 magazines, cut out things for pen pals, family, to put into their addressed envies, for when I write their letters in a day or 2. Not pushing it tonight. Need to rest some more.

Evening ci here. Dh and I just got back from a lovely evening out. We sat at our table in the restaurant for 2.5 hours. The place was pretty empty, so I think it was OK. We talked for an hour after we finished eating. The food was really good, pricey but good.

Now, dh is doing some woodworking in the garage. It is nice to see him spending time on his hobby! He's happy to be able to get to it too. He is on the first semester of his sabbatical this coming semester. . . Long story, but since dd16 didn't want to go on sabbatical while still in high school, we decided to stay put this semester -- but this was after dh's proposal for a sabbatical in the Netherlands was approved. Before he submitted his proposal, dd16 had said she wanted to go to the Netherlands for a semester. She changed her mind after it was too late to change sabbatical dates. Once approved, sabbatical dates can't be changed, thus, the in town sabbatical. All this means, really, is no teaching and no service responsibilities (Univ./Dept. committees, etc.) for him, but the main part of his job, the research, will continue as before. Anyhow, he is going to look into splitting his sabbatical and taking the 2nd half overseas the fall dd16 goes off to Uni, fall 2016. We'll see. . . This is better timing for me too with my new job.

Meeting with my mentee this afternoon took 2.5 hours. it took us one hour just to get set up!! Skype wasn't working for her, so we did a google hangout, and there were some issues with that on my side. With the help of ds, we eventually got those ironed out. In the end, he told me to use my laptop rather than dh's b/c of how dh's speakers are set up - or something. LOL! That did the trick.

We are having cold drizzle, but temps are not forecast to fall below 33? degrees, so it is possible we will escape an icy catastrophe tonight. We'll see. Trees clearly have ice on their branches. Roads are icy/slushy in spots. I'm doing my 4th lol in case we're out of electricity tomorrow. It just feels better to know that we have clean clothes. LOL!

I'm going to switch the laundry and then veg for a while before going to bed -- not late tonight. Dd19 is out babysitting. Dd16 is sewing in her room, adjusting costumes for the high school drama team. Ds is working on his own techie project.
