:D :D THANKS FOR THE B-DAY WISHES! :!: :D :D

Oh, I think I'm "getting OLD"! :o I woke up at 6:10 A. M. :!:  Oh my PODA for today, I wrote: "SLEEP IN!" But I woke up with a stuffy nose, a sniffling nose, and itchy nose, all in one. :? I got up, watched the news, watched the Oscar nominations, and thought it was cool, how we'd just watched "The Grand Budapest Hotel," on cable this week, and they got nominated! :o :P After breakfast and a s2s-shampoo, and make-up and coffee, I went to put eye gel in. I looked at my under-eye area, my puffy eyes looked purple-navy, and I looked awful. :? :( :?: Even WITH make-up! Company was coming at 1:30 p.m., so I put on concealer and my powder, and ended up looking better. ;) When BFF and her DH came, she said she's never seen me in jeans before. I told her I always wear jeans, but I'm wearing my shirt tucked in with a belt I just got. She said, "YOU wear a BELT?" ;) After they went home, I realized she's not seen me in so long, how I've lost 15 Lbs. or so, which made her "think" I'd never worn jeans before. I told her my jeans were new ones, too, which might be why she noticed my jeans. They gave me chocolation shower gel, 2 orange nylon puff scrubbers, with a heart-shaped soap, 1 red infinity scarf, 1 black and white infinity scarf and everything was in this tall roomy nice tote bag with red and pink hearts all over it. She said, "Oh, KEEP the tote! It's part of your gift!" :P I told her I use totes so much for crochet projects.

Dson called on his lunch hour, they're doing well, and he's doing well, too. DD called this evening, prior to dinner, and she's been ill with a virus, which went into a sinus infection. We chatted awhile and I talked to DGS-18, too. When I turned on the computer, I had a Happy Birthday card from my dentist and his staff and also from http://www.hystersisters.com , who are ladies who are thinking about, or have done, or are not going to do hysterectomies. Some gals are perimenopausal, menopausal or are post-menopausal. I've not been there for ages, but they sent an e-card, which was nice. They also have studies, information, threads, at their website, and it's a really neat place on the web, to go to. :)

I replied to 2 emails wishing me a Happy Birthday; 1 dfriend; 1 relative, and right before our filet mignon dinner (via Omaha Meats from dson/ddil) I got an email from dsis, but she made it short, as she had a rough day, was exhausted from working, and all. I'll email her next/soon. She's probably in bed by now though. DH is watching a movie, I'll have cake later, and will just relax and enjoy the rest of the evening, too. BFF thought we'd completely rearranged our living room, but it can only be arranged in 1 formation. I believe it's being decluttered and re-decorated, made it seem rearranged. ;) Also, she told me how to make those fleece blankets, which have fringes tying side one to side two. :!: :P I'm "strongly considering" make the oldest 5 grandsons, from 11.5 - 18, each a blanket, like that, for Christmas. This way, I'll only crochet 3 afghans, for the 3 youngest grandchildren. And BFF said teenagers ♥ LOVE ♥ these kinds of blankets, too.

Thanks, once again, for the Happy Birthday wishes. I took 2 short naps in my recliner, had 3 cups of coffee, I'm still tired, but at least I've had a great day and enjoyed being 63! I'm sure it's going to be a good year, too, because I've changed priorities, will be doing the Annie's Attic Quilt Kit-of-the-Month Club, to learn how to do this new interest, and want to get back "into" flowerbed gardening this spring, too. ;)

Take care, Everyone! :D Thanks again! ♥

I am glad that you had such a nice birthday, FF.

lucylee, I was relieved to see that your dh has lab work and a drs. appointment next week. I always think it is better to know what is going on, than to imagine the worst and it be nothing or something minor.

lucylee, did you see Unbroken? After watching it, you knew why it was called Unbroken. We are wanting to see American Sniper, also. There were only 10 of us at the early (4:25) movie today. We will go to an early weekday movie sometime next week to see AS.

Dh was wanting some new shoes, I want to say tennis shoes but that's not the word. Anyway he asked if I wanted to go. I had planned to read but I went. He found a pair at the first place but decided to look at P enney's. They had some he liked better and that is what we bought. We then went to WM. Dh is amazed how much easier it is to go to any of our stores during the weekday opposed to how busy they all are nights and weekends.

Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since dh retired and he is really enjoying life.

We were really spoiled. All this time dh has had his cellphone supplied and paid for by his employer. When he retired they told him to keep the phone. It was only a few months old. Whoever was in charge of the phones went through the hoops to get dh's phone number released so that he could keep it. That was a waste of time because when he went to get a new plan in his name, they told him that the phone itself is still attached to the employers account and there is no way to separate it. So dh had to buy a new phone. Anyway he now has a plan with the same phone carrier and it has excellent reception. Dh told me that I could have a new phone too, but for now I will keep my Trac Phone. As long as when we travel and have a reliable phone, that is enough. When we went to the lake last fall, I couldn't get cell reception on my Trac Phone.

Saturday evening we are having the girls and their families over for the ham dinner that I had planned to fix Christmas Eve. The 2 boys will be back at their dads but they don't like what I am having anyway. Dgs20 goes back to college on Sunday.

I went to bed at 10:15 and even though I was tired, I couldn't fall asleep. Guess I better try again.

It's 12:15 and the church website is updated. I needed to call a friend, but my phone is at work. Not gonna drive an hour to get it. I emailed her. Girls' Night Out was a success with DD12 agreeing to try a restaurant she did not remember "as long as I can get chicken strips". I told her about fajitas and she LOVED them. We split an order so it was reasonably priced, and a reasonable amount of food. We both eat ours plain, just the chicken in the tortilla. It helped that I was able to guarantee her soapapillas. After that, we got yarn for the youth group auction item shawl. It's black with sparkles. I just remembered I swore I would never work with black again. I hope it works ok. If it does, I will make another one for the animal org auction.

Catboxes are done, but I should probably feed them as well. Me care is done. Computer Scrabble is successfully avoided by coming here.

TwinsMom: I have not been rejected by the mortgage company, just stuck in processing limbo.
