Having a tea & SHE break. But not with tea :) . Using Helia's trick of having a diet coke for a bit of a caffeine boost. Ddog was up barking twice in the wee hours, so I'm a little sleepy.

I'm going to spend some time cuop for the last few days. I did see that Feline Friend recently had a birthday, so I wanted to post a

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY, dear Feline Friend! I hope your special day was wonderful. :)

There are some tasks calling my name, but right now I want to be here. Waving ~~~~ to everyone.

Lucylee, I think that's a great idea, the stone gift one. I like the idea of covering the lettering with something that will make them permanent.

Last evening I had a setback with this cough thing, and I just thought I was going to die. Don't feel a whole lot better today.

I did a bunch of work on my spreadsheets, and they are now all tweaked and copied. I am waiting for one more interest notice from a bank and then my year-in-a-folder is all set to give the cpa.

Feeling whoozie now, so I think I'll crawl back into bed.

My daughter is on a date. This is new. The only thing close has been a movie date with me as transportation. They left at 2:30 so it's somewhat comfortable to think of the mostly-daylight date. Sigh. He's been her friend a good while - eventually parents do have to put up with this.

My challenge is to get busy and get some things done now! I am running behind in the laundry dept.
Like Dove, tasks are calling my name.

Harmony, you don't want this to go into bronchitis - should you consider a dr's visit?

hi back from errands.

d kathryn.. I think there are many more people that think the same way re: intense movies etc. I have to watch the end of a movie first thing to make sure I won't be uncomfortable through it :D this way I am not invested in the character if they all disappear.

d sunny I just have to say AWESOME on your work!!! great job

d Lynn <3

d harriet.. did you say your sweet little girl is now 16 and on a date... where did that time go!

d Friend have a lovely day (I love your dancing)

d Nancy glad he didn't charge you. I Hope you have a carbon monoxide detector.. I want you safe.

d dee yay on your blood sugar of 86 - yes I am lost with out my timer!

d lucy (((on the loss of a d friend and mentor)))

Groceries put away, other errands done, dh mailed my letters, dh is a bit down as his check up from the cancer (5 years ago) - he always gets a bit down in worry because of this.

what I have to do that I am putting off: call insurance company re: dd youngers therapy

Cue Hallelujah Chorus LOUD!!! I found my phone. It was on the floor of my office, where I must have dropped it.

Forgot to mention a TaDa from yesterday: cleaned the master bathroom toilet. The rest of the master bath still needs to be done, including a job for Elizabeth's Own Plumbing Company, but progress has been made. I also remembered to feed the cats. One cat is having problems and is visiting the vet on Saturday. She has always had a sensitive stomach, but now she gulps a lot. Weird. I wish there were an Elizabeth's Own Vet Clinic, but sometimes you have to hire out.

Interesting task for me came up at the animal org meeting. Our speaker is the mayor and we want some photogenic animals for him. My Briggs of the uncertain ancestry has been chosen to meet the mayor, IF I can get him to put up with a leash. He doesn't have to walk on it, just not freak out. I doubt he has ever seen a leash, or a harness, or a collar.

I just got back from a baby shower at a restaurant. I checked out the menu before agreeing to go, but this site only had the vegetarian options. YUCK! And I will not have time to eat before the concert.

Harmony, I'm glad you are getting all your bookkeeping done, but I wish you felt better. I hope you can soon get some much needed rest to recoup. How's dh? Still coughing also?

Happy Birthday, FFriend!

Lucy, I think the gift idea of writing on the rocks is a nice one. Sprayed with clear acrylic after the ink is good and dry will keep the writing water proof, and in a nice basket would be a nice remembrance.

Speaking of Scots-Irish.....My dmom told me that both her parents' families were from Ireland, but that her dfather always said that his ancestors came from Scotland.

Thank you, Blessed!

Glad you found your phone, Elizabeth.

I've already had loss of voice, it's already in my bronchial tubes, and I can hear the wheezing in my lungs when I exhale. It's not good. Now, with the extra designation on my medicare account I'm more reluctant to go to dr. We probably both have walking pneumonia. DH is still coughing though not as badly as me. He says he has graduated from the Nyquil to just the dayquil. I know we did not get better because we've both been working.

I tried to go back to bed. The house is 73° inside but I am feeling cold and shivery. I crawled under the covers for about 5 minutes till DH called and I had to go put out some fires with an email, a couple phone calls.

I was supposed to go to some local concert with dsmil on Sunday but I'm just not feeling up to it so I called her to beg off. I felt really bad doing that, and she said she'd have to call around to find someone to go with as she already had the tickets (given to her). Even if I felt up to going, I'm not sure I could sit there that long without coughing - and I sure wouldn't want to give this to her.

Going to try going back to bed..

((Harmony)) Could you just call for advice?

I put in two 15s in the master bedroom for Focus. This is good.

Dee, I completely missed that bs reading until blessed mentioned it - what did you do right, Dee? (That is what HRH always asks himself.) He was surprised by a mid-day reading of 116 and was asking that yesterday. (btw - He seldom knows his answer.) Maybe it was good you had soup so often recently?

Also meant to say to Kathryn that I will abandon entertainment if something gets - as you said - intense. I believe there is mental effort required to hold "suspension of disbelief" of something that would trouble our hearts.. ... and our brains are already busy! I don't need Old Yeller dying extra times, whether I've already seen the movie or not. Sad is sad. And what difference did it make to me to have heard reviews and commentary on Jurassic Park before attending theater? None whatsoever. I was still hiding behind my knees and feeling as though someone had put me on a roller coaster without my consent. Surely these feelings are part of basic intelligence, since self-preservation is the first foremost duty of intelligence. So, I figure maybe I've just got too much sense to fool with certain stuff.

American Sniper - a movie from which I excused myself, but dstepson and HRH felt strongly that they wanted to see it. Their reviews were very positive and they said it was a story that was just begging to be told.

:P THANKS FOR THE B-DAY WISHES! ;)

:o   :? :!: I just finished a short story, was getting ready to submit it, via attachment, and with Windows 7, I need to do it TOTALLY DIFFERENT than I used to- because I no longer have Windows emails.  I got out my notebook, with instructions in it, from Dson, (WHO IS AT WORK & I CANNOT PHONE FOR HELP RIGHT NOW!), and I tried to figure it out. My heart rate went way UP! :!: :o  :) I DID IT! I was sitting at my laptop, crying my EYES OUT, because the story's a tear-jerker ALL through it! But it's sentimental and like "AHHHH..." ♥ So I was so "into" my story, feeling it through the editor's eyes AND the reader's eyes, and was so MOVED! :o  I forgot myself, totally! DH came to me, with serious concern on his face, "What's WRONG?" he asked. I told him, "Oh, it's nothing, but my story's a tear-jerker, is all, so I started crying!" Boy! He was relieved that nobody had died or said something evil to me, to break my little ol' pea-pickin' heart! ;) I never got to submit a story for the April issues because I was down-and-out sick with this virus. :x I'm so glad I sent the May story in 3 weeks early! :P It's so much fun to be "back in the saddle", so to speak!

Oh, my. I'm washing towels right now, need to sort mail, if it's not been sorted already for me/us. I'm in the office, behind the closed door, listening to FM long-haired music. Which reminds me of Ddad. One day I told him, "I love long-haired music." He said, "I'm not into that rock and roll stuff." I told him, "I mean classical, like Beethoven and Mozart?" He said, 'oh'. And then he cracked up laughing! He loved Dolly Parton, when he was alive and country, too. I love Shania Twain and a lot of country singers. It's so fun to waste time and watch CMT videos, too. :P

I need to check and see if the mail's arrived, check the towels, and stretch, move, and do some yoga. I'm too lazy to struggle on and off the floor, so I do standing yoga and Pilates moves. I love them. ♥

Lucylee, the rock idea was SO GOOD! You could also write words like, "Love," or "Live," or "Joy", too, and perhaps put them into a small basket or decorative bucket, so the person could get 1 rock out a day, to display and meditate on.

Elizabeth, I'm glad you found your phone!

Thank you, Blessed! Dancing is so good for the soul- like laughter!

Harriet, I hope your DD's date goes well for her!

Not sure (completely) what I did, Harriet. Especially since I had 'some' cake at lunch yesterday. But my main entrée was mostly salad and I had some potatoes (mashed & au gratin I think). But last night I only had about 1/2 cup of that soup, topped with mozzarella. Thought about eating some of my Oatmeal Cream pie that I brought home, but didn't. So there was very little on my dinner 'plate'. Tonight we're having chili so I'll forego the bread and see what happens. We had frozen entrees for lunch and I had 1 spoonful of the pie. At this rate it'll last me a few days. Trying so hard to get those scales to start moving! My theory is if I can keep my blood sugar low, can the pounds be far behind?

Dh and dd are going to the Rodeo tonight at the Arena in town.

I'll be glad to be back up north where the crime rate is lower. The one robbery and home invasion was only about 4 or 5 miles from us to start out. There was another on the north side of town a couple of days ago. Know dsonil/dd are afraid to leave their door unlocked ANY TIME. When we're in the campground we rarely think of locking anything. It's gated, which doesn't mean someone couldn't get in, but the possibilities are so much less up there.

Harmon, dHarmony, I do hope you get better soon. Hate 'seeing' you like this.
