I saw pdoc who thought it good visit to dd's is deferred again (maybe on w/e - I need to check)
bought dog flea meds
yard got mown (happy dance) though I wanted to nap at the time.
dog took me for a shorter walk
filled up bin with prunings
precooked meal, heated on toast

Tuesday is usually Desk day for me - need to continue with the backlog of papers that never seem to end. On Sunday, dh suddenly asked me what happened to iTunes cards that we bought before Hanukkah/Christmas....I thought I had them in my stack of papers but can't find them. We both looked for them for awhile and they didn't turn up. Somewhere, also, is the Christmas card for dnephew w Christmas $$...I'd like to find that and send to them.

I need to get moving on a.m. routine, must be at PT at 10 a.m. this morning and hopefully will meet the SU lady to get my order from her. Would be nice if I could do some stamping too.

Yesterday I realized that dMacs had an open wound of some kind on his shoulder, so a trip to the vet was indicated. They sedated him, cleaned out the infection and left a drain that will need to come out on Thursday. He finally ate something last night and I think he ate at least some this morning, but I found dog throw-up also. I need him to keep the antibiotic down so just gave him a bit of canned food which he scarfed up. I'm so afraid this may be the "beginning of the end" for him. Talked to our very kind vet yesterday a bit about the house call which he will eventually make, whether now or later.

Should also say we don't know where dMacs got the puncture wound, but I believe that neighbor dog across the street may have inflicted it last Friday when he pulled out of his collar and charged dMacs while his owner and I were trying to talk across the street. She was mortified about her dog's behavior and came over to apologize and we had a glass of wine together. Dmacs has done the same thing - charged another dog - so I know how she feels, but hate it for my poor dMacs.

Yesterday dh was home for most the day. He had a lunch appointment then bowled last night. In the afternoon he came to the vet with me and Macs, and then we looked ar furniture. I've wanted a smaller table for breakfast area - with my desk at one side of the breakfast area the table is just too massive. It will seat 8 easily and doesn't have a leaf we can take out. Found a couple of smaller tables we liked, but not enough to make the purchase.

(((Twins))) it is awful to even have to think about this but dMac's been through a lot lately.

I'm up and s2s. Bed it made. I'm skipping the hot water and lemon. I've been decidedly unhappy since I started that regimen and while the odds of my mood being caused by it are slight, I'm in too bad a mood to do it this morning.

Dh noted a hole in his sweater the other night and I wasn't too upset about it because I was pretty sure it had been mended before. Looked at it this morning and found 4 spots where I'd darned it. This 5th spot will show because I can't mend it from behind. Even so, I was pleased that dh hadn't realized I'd worked on this sweater previously. And he's pleased that he can take it as a mid-layer when he climbs and I won't mind if it gets wrecked. It is Costco cashmere and gorgeous but hasn't held up like other cashmere sweaters have and not due to excessive where. This sweater has spent most of its life in the mending pile!

Didn't get to bed until almost midnight so am dragging again this morning.

I will try my SAD light but haven't noticed any reaction. At the old house, I could feel it in my tummy but here the apartment is so bright, I'm not sure it makes a difference at all. Plus I'm outside so much here that, technically, I shouldn't need it (outside on a cloudy day is the same light strength as the light gives inside.)

There's a really irritating tone that I can here in all rooms but really bad in the living room (where my desk is) and now the kitchen. I went out on the balcony and confirmed it is from outside somewhere. It might actually be the source of my bad mood as it wears me down. I simply can't concentrate on writing or reading because I can't block the sound. I fear it is from the new boiler room which is below our apartment. If that is the case, we'll have this noise for 7 months of the year, although I suppose it will be less during the months when it isn't deep cold.

I've managed to get the humidity up into the 20% range steadily in the living/dining room and the bedroom is usually above 35% at night although last night it only got to 33%. Now that I know the pans on the radiators work (they put about a gallon of water a day into the air) I need to figure out if doubling the pans increases the amount of water that will go into the air. Plus I need to buy more pans - these are metal loaf pans and are rusting. Never underestimate the corrosive power of water! (I'll go find glass or microwave loaf pans at the thrift store.) Today I need to pull all the towels from the pans and wash them in the washer. And wash the pans themselves. It is fascinating the stains the cloth develop so they are filtering air as well. The one in the kitchen is the most stained.

Good morning, Twins & LynLee. I'm up, s2s, just finished meds, bed made and have a load of laundry twirling. Hmmm....have done more than I thought. I'm trying very hard not to be sick. Dsonil has had the cold/flu for several days and I started with a sore throat Sun. night. Have some congestion but am trying medicate just a little, trying to keep it from being full fledged. I already went through this once this winter.

Dsisil called me last night and asked me to join her and her dsisters for lunch at Out back today. Yikes! I already have an appointment for an oil change at 2 in a town south of here at a dealership. And of course they're meeting on the north side of our town (crazy, when the other one is so much closer to the third sister and equal distance for them -oh well.) Finally agreed that I'd meet them at 11:30. It will probably take me at least 45 minutes from there to the dealership. Have been trying to discern just when our new car needed an oil change but went ahead and made the appointment last week. Lo' and behold the "change oil soon" message came on this weekend. So guess dd was right about the timing.

Good Morning, All! It is a lot cloudier today than yesterday. I think we have some rain coming this weekend.

I was awake at 7:30 this morning, even though I didn't sleep well. Up at 8am, dressed and had breakfast. Straightened up bedroom and made the bed. Need to finish cleaning kitchen, then I think I'll be ready for a nap.

Harmony, Dfam#2 enjoys being with your two girls and their dfamilies. I'm glad they get along well. They were surprised at how much the little cousins have grown since they saw them last.

Kathryn, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at the pool yesterday. I might have been tempted to tell that man to buzz off and find his own lane, but I think you handed it the right way. And it is their loss! Hope you find a better place!

It is foggy here this morning. Something that did not get done last week still need attn. Here.

I am at the hospital's waiting room doing my spending paperwork from December 2014
d uncle is in surgery and so far they say he is doing fine... I am worried about what they will find and which way his path will turn. He wouldn't tell his daughter about the surgery. She is a damaged soul. She lives in Minnesota and he doesn't want her to worry.

I wish I had my charger with me though .

Kathryn, your class lesson yesterday reminds me that once upon a time, people actually hoped for long sermons. They were the greatest (only?) entertainment/intellectual quality-time of the week. I've heard that in the US in the early part of last century there were sometimes groans of disappointment following sermons that lasted shorter than 2 hours. So hard for us to grasp now, that a pervading sense of responsibility for length could have once been a part of sermon planning.

I do give your lecturer credit for costuming and visual aids . He's trying! He didn't just say, "and the sermons were long". He gave you the experience. (and of course these days Calvin would be competing with the Penguins of Madagascar!) Come to think of it the Penquins might fit into a lesson, let me see... ..

Dd's friend's handicapped little sister gets to go to a pool near me this morning and so I will keep older child with me through the rest of a.m.

Twins' Mom I am so sorry about Macs and the wound. Perhaps his skin is thinner these days like a human's would be. He is so blessed to have such an observant family, to catch these problems and be attentive.

Sunny, I hope you are feeling well today.

Sunny's advice to Kathryn is kinda the way I feel about it - I think that gentleman misunderstands the full purpose of swimming lanes. He is forgetting everyone doesn't use them the way he does, but each use is valid. The little girl I mentioned in above paragraph will use a lane, today, too - I wonder if he would attempt to tell her how to use it.

So glad LadyM has dropped by today - she's been on my mind.
