I've spent as much time in the bathroom as in front of the tv. I'm really tempted to go back to bed but DH is changing all the brakes on one of this trucks, they were just about ready to fail. He has all his tools out there and truck is jacked up but he is off in the car, probably buying more parts. I just hate to see him struggle with anything, so I will go out and sit in lawn chair in case I can do anything. Then I'll come in and lay down.

Elizabeth, I hope the faucet is fixed. At least I learned how to spell faucet from your post! Too bad about your cat. Will you end up being the one to keep it?

Harmony, the big date was evidently happy, and dd's feet were not touching the ground for a while. This boy also sketches all the time, is polite, and scared to death of her parents, as it should be. We are allowing daylight dates or group dates with others we know, and no more than once a week. HRH is rationalizing this as not really dating at all. Dd is satisfied and calls it dating. So, it's all in the definition, lol.

((Cathy)), heal quickly.

FFriend, that's nice you don't have to bother with this again for a long time.

Harriet: thanks for the comment about reading the latest book. You are a very smart woman.

I'm not feeling well today so haven't done much. Two loads of laundry are done and the did vacuum the apartment and dusted the bedroom well. Still have to dust the remainder of the apartment.

The publisher sent me the music to a hymn in the senior's hymn book. He says it appears no other place than that one book so he gave me a complimentary copy of the music. That explains why I can't find it anywhere online. The only references were to the copyright. Dh and I will learn the melody and then he'll work out the chords. It is a good choral blessing which doesn't talk about death (as in God be with us till we meet again) or service (these people are old and I don't expect them to head off into the mission field.) It just gives thanks for the time of worship and blesses them until we meet again. Great lyrics, now to see what the tune sounds like.

My minister friend has a children's book by Tutu so he's bringing that next time we see each other. Still waiting for other recommendations from my minister friends.

Elizabeth: the last time dh replaced the cartridge, the tap still leaked for 2 days and then stopped and never leaked again. We surmised that the rubber had to form a tight seal in the faucet and so it leaked before that happened.

Aside from the above, all I've done is lie around. I feel better when lying down. Total step count so far, despite the vacuuming is under 3K.

d uncle made a turn for the better - his meds were causing problems and I honestly thought we would loose him yesterday and this morning. His heart rate zoomed - and he couldn't breath. Much better today to the point he was funny and having a great time with the neighbors.

Well, the brakes are fixed and I didn't have to do much, thank goodness. Everytime DH is doing mechanical work on the vehicle I get a running commentary...and I understand practically none of it and if I did I wouldn't tackle any of it myself, anyway. I guess it is being a good wife to listen attentively.

Sorted mail and found the one bank notice I need for the cpa, so I tackled that batch of work. Went through everything, made some notes, copied 4 pages, and separated our copies from the ones for the accountant. My "year in a folder" is now complete and ready for him, though I don't know whether I'll bother him this weekend or wait till Monday.

Was curious when I got this together last year, and I did a search from 1/11/14 to 1/28/14 and didn't read any of my posts about it. However, it was eye-opening to read what was going on and how frantic I was sounding, cooking ahead, taking DH for pre-op appointments, etc. It's no wonder I crashed when it was all over!

I'm done for the day. Going to go chill.

blessed, glad to read your duncle is doing better.
Harriet, it's fun to read about the date. I know dd must be happy.

I've done an hour on the treadmill and got my step count close enough to the 10K that I might make it before bed.

Dusted the living room, spare bedroom and foyer. Put felt pads on the chair in the front hall because I'm convinced it is scraping the floor.

Donated money to the National Arts Centre for the music in the schools program. Aside from a tax receipt, I also get access to three dress rehearsals so I'm thrilled. We are available in the daytime so will be able to go. There is a bonus event on Monday so I'm thinking of going to that.

Still have to dust the dining room and office and clean up the dinner dishes. Then I can go to bed.

:D Thank you, for those of you who congratulated me on a good report. I'm so thrilled - still- how I don't have terrible things and will just follow a fiber-rich diet now. Not needing to do this again, for 7 years, is so wonderful. I'm counting my fiber grams. It's sort of fun. It's neat to learn what has more fiber, what has "0" and all. DH got me fiber-rich foods today, too. I still have that IBS, but it's not as "bad", with the fiber. It's so nice. Oh, and today I didn't do a conga, but I did do 1 LOL, but need to put it away. It's laying out flat on our bed. I napped 3 short naps, one after the other, until Kitty Cat came into our MBR, kneading my navy blue good turtleneck and snagging it. I was so upset, but DH said I should have closed the door. I left it open, to be getting the fireplace insert warm air in there. I used a crochet hook, to pull the 1 long snag, to the wrong side. Then, I told DH how this navy blue turtleneck now becomes an everyday one for the Seahawks "Blue Friday" days! :!: :P So it's not the end of the world and I "can" wear a pullover fleece top over it, if I wear it out of the house.

I had 2 really nice dreams, back-to-back, but woke a bit sad from them, after I'd finished it up with the 2nd dream. I dreamed I'd went to our dneighbor's house, to tell him something DH had found, told him to come real quick to see it. I woke up, then fell asleep again, I was sliding his back sliding glass door open, telling him again, how I was so excited for him to come see whatever it was that was so neat. I saw our dneighbor get up, say "OK, I'm coming!" and walked out the door, with me. I suddenly awoke, realizing he's now in a nursing home (since August), from a serious stroke and can't walk, he's in a wheel chair, in real life, so I felt a bit sad, for a moment. Then, I got happy that I HAD seem him, in my dream, like I did, because it was just like "old times." ♥ His Dwife's in the nursing home, too, with Alzheimer's. :( We're going to go see them in 1 - 2 weeks. I want to bake him some cookies, to have. He used to bake them for us, so now it's my turn to bake for him. I'm also going to take him 2 - 3 Reminiscence magazines to read. His wife is in a separate room, which is more secure, because of her wandering off. :( But they have lunch together, visit each other, and all. :) :) I just wrote them, earlier this week, a card, letter, to each of them. It was nice. We have their phone numbers, too, and the website of their nursing home, too. DH has been to see them, I didn't know he was going that day. He was renewing his driver's license and the DMV was closed, so he killed time, by going to visit our old friend. 8-) I was home, didn't know this was happening at all!

I'll try to do a bit of housework tonight, work on some sorting of papers, and stuff, after dinner. I feel well rested now, and raring to go! :P

Have a great evening, Everyone! :D Waving at you all!

Glad y'all got the brakes fixed, Harmony. :) So much like my ddad... there's no telling how many hours my dmom spent "holding the light," reaching for a tool, or just keeping him company while he worked on something like that. Hope your meds do their job SOON and stop working against you! (((HUGS)))

Glad to hear Elizabeth's faucet appears to be fixed! And good news -- our ice maker IS making ice. (Still have that drip in the refrigerator, but we can deal with it.)

(((Cathy)))

Harriet -- so nice that dd's date/not-a-date went well! Sounds like a nice boy that she would have a lot in common with.

FF, how many grams of fiber per day are you trying to get? I know what you mean about dreams like that, but they are kinda nice.
It is a good choral blessing which doesn't talk about death (as in God be with us till we meet again) or service (these people are old and I don't expect them to head off into the mission field.)
:) Kathryn... that IS important.
DS used to sing with a friend at the nursing home, and this particular friend used to just LOVE to sing a song called, "Not Afraid."
The lyrics are as follows:

When I close my eyes in death,
Fold my hands across my chest.
Sing for me a pretty song
While I take my journey home.
CHORUS:
Not afraid to bid this world good-bye.
Not afraid to close my eyes and die.
For His courage I have prayed.
In His arms I'm not afraid.
2. When I cross that silent sea
And those home lights beckon me.
I'll feel no pain, I'll fear no harm.
Safe, secure in Jesus' arms.

* sigh * Now, some of those older people may have felt great comfort from those words, and sometimes I do, myself... but most of the time, I'd be sitting there looking around at all those frail, elderly people, and I would just think "Could y'all possibly sing something more morbid???" * sigh *

Sooo glad things are so much better with your duncle, blessed! That is great news!

Glad you got some unexpected free time, too, Nancy. (We did as well. DS called and said they decided they would just go to C huckie C heese; did we want to go? Hmmmm... no. DH is still trying to eat more healthy choices and smart starts, in prep for weigh-in at doctor's office Thurs. and I just did not want to face the music/noise/screaming/lights/camera/action/etc that = CC. No. Very thankful for the invitation, but no.

Talked to dmom; she still sounds so good. Maybe making a decision about the new church has taken a load off her mind as well, and given her new enthusiasm. She sounds like she's really doing well, emotionally. So excited about all she's doing at dgrandmother's house, just sounds very good every time I talk to her.
She and I did the original P&P card box back when their book first came out, and she was talking about timing various tasks this morning, and how that helps to organize her day.

Well, I got my Mod-Podge last night (at Wmart in bigger city; H obby L obby closes at 8:00 pm -- who knew?) I think I'll give it a try and see what I'm working with here.
We may go out to see another movie since we're baby-free again tonight.
BTW -- Mortdecai was funny, but as I expected, very silly. It was sorta like the Three Stooges, minus two, with a British accent. But I'm a sucker for a British accent, so I enjoyed it. Lots of LOL moments, but kinda slapstick humor. I even developed a liking for the Three Stooges once ds came along and loved them, so that's a good gauge for y'all in trusting my reviews.

OH! NOW I know what I meant to ask y'all...
What do y'all think about these sheets? WHY do I only look at the reviews AFTER I've ordered???
These are the sheets I ordered last night... and someone in the reviews says they feel like sandpaper! * sheesh * DH said, "Oh well, if they're no good, they didn't cost you anything; you got them with a Christmas gift card. Make dust cloths out of them." * sigh * I should have bought a fit bit.

Editing to say THANK YOU, Kathryn for fixing that. I knew it looked ridiculously long compared to other links I've done, but didn't know what the problem was.

Also editing to say, my rock project is frustrating. Apparently my rocks have a sort of waxy coating on it. The sharpie won't write on it very well, and digs into it getting the waxy stuff on the pen point, and then it won't write at all... and I am just ready to say to heck with this!!!
Maybe some sandpaper on the rocks?
Tomorrow is another day.
