Re: Wonderful Wed.
Dd came and spent a few hours. I thought she was just coming for lunch and then heading off to her friend's place so that was a surprise. Dh and I were going to walk over to the store for butter (don't really need it but dh has been inside a lot lately so wanted fresh air and sunlight.) Then I realized I had car errands so we did those instead, including getting it washed. It was his first time taking the car there and he was impressed with how they handle lineups, etc. It was quite crowded today.
Got home and found our cruise tickets waiting for us and ds ready to leave for his shift up at the ski hill.
Dinner tonight is leftovers. Dh has his choir practice tonight, then we have choir practice tomorrow and we were asked to sing out in the old village next week so we have to put together a set list for that. And I have to practice singing.
Dh now realizes that he doesn't have to come to church with me on Sunday (he thought I had preaching in the afternoon too) so is debating staying home. Dd is inviting us over after for a visit at her place (we have to drive by her place to get to this church) but dh could just take the bus over and avoid attending church.
Now I need to buckle down and at least get the service written before the end of the evening.

Re: Wonderful Wed.
DH is watching a movie. I need to write him a list for Costco, for tomorrow, finish my 1 LOL, and get a slow cooker dish done at 4 p.m. It's for the 1.5-quart slow cooker.
It's cloudy here, isn't raining or sunny at all. It's just a sort of "blah-looking" day outdoors.
There was a hydrogen peroxide spill at the port. They evacuated nearby businesses. It's gone into the water system and is showing a smoky-looking fog-like air over the water. Hopefully the residents there, won't be affected. Have 1 family member, living not too far from the port.
I'm going to run and do some stretching, yoga and Pilates moves now. That'll help loosen up the tightness and pain.
I had 1 nice letter in today's mail. She usually sends plain lined paper letters and regular white envelopes. But today, the paper was floral, pretty, no lines, with a matching floral envelope. It was unusual for her, but so nice!
Have a great afternoon - evening, Everyone!

Re: Wonderful Wed.
I am home again and tired. Trying to regroup for what needs to get done tonight so I can get "away" tomorrow. Right now I'd just as soon not go anywhere.
After I posted earlier I worked through that li&t. I got a good walk in with Moses in particular since it was such a nice day - to the bottom of the hill and back. Got back home and realized dcousin in FL had called cell phone, then as I started to call him back the home phone went off and it was him. Wanted to tell me that the address he gave me for CA cousin was incorrect. Then about 30 seconds after I answered the phone, my cell phone went off w CA cousin calling. So I talked to CA cousin for awhile. He is 9 years older than I am and they lived in Michigan growing up, so I never knew him altho I saw him a few times during my childhood. It sounds like duncle will not pass away soon and I may try to get my mother skyped with him early next week. She has difficulty with phone calls because her hearing is so poor, even with her hearing aid, so I hope that skyping might help.
Busy afternoon - so I got a late start getting back out of the house this afternoon. Temple secretary texted that she had a vendor who wanted their ck this afternoon, so I decided to accommodate and go sign cks first. Stopped at post office on the way to send off the DNA kit and a card for the bat mizvah we'll miss this weekend. While at temple
, dog/house sitter gal called and was ready to get my car and couldn't do it later after I visited dmom, so I dashed to the university, picked her up and she brought me home. Also stopped at the bank for $$ and paid her. Then I had to head back out in ds' car - got to the JCC for the meals just at 5 p.m. as they were closing, and finally got to dmom's for visit and to drop off meals.
And I am feeling pooped. Won't be a walk for ddogs tonight, I'm afraid. I may sit down for a little downtime before I hit it again.
What do I need to do tonight?
-reboot laundry, fold and put away
-straighten house for dcleaning lady, who will come on Friday
-pack
-charge phone and fitbit
-water plants
-what else? I know there was more!
Giving myself about 30 min of downtime.

Re: Wonderful Wed.
No progress to report except we had dinner. Dh is out now. I watched an episode of tv and am on the treadmill now to warm up.
Clean up of supper will be quick since most everything will go in the dishwasher.
Need to remember to run a load of towels when I get off the treadmill.

-clear kitchen counters and breakfast bar counter
-write a ck for dcleaning lady
-update info for dog sitter
-get out the bag I'll be taking so I can start getting things into it

Re: Wonderful Wed.
Hello, villagers ~
Only an hour so far today on the tea party prep. The rest of the daylight hours were used for household chores, personal errands and about 2 hours getting the sewing group's newsletter printed.
Yes, I'm back to proofreading, driving the finished file to the printer, folding/labeling/taping/stamping & mailing the newsletter again. Long story, nevermind.
Harriet ~ The embroidered lace "scarves" are for the girls to dress up. No sewing, I used my rotary cutter on the laces that would not ravel, and the other ladies used pinking shears on the others. Yes, you and I know that a scarf cut 9 inches wide and anywhere between 44 and 60 inches wide is waaaaay too large for little girls -- but 1 of the other ladies wanted them cut that size, so I followed instructions.
... This sat on the screen during supper. Now I need to return a phone call and then take care of those newsletters so they'll be ready for the post office tomorrow morning.

Re: Wonderful Wed.
And again....
-refill meds containers
-water plants
-start pulling out what's going with me
-online ck bank balance for dmom
-pick out an embroidered letter on my backpack
(Long story....my backpack, which was purchased when dkids were preschool has my first name embroidered on it - still in good shape but I'm picking the name out of it)
I'm stalling on packing because I'm not sure whether I want to shave my legs and plan to wear shorts some, or stick to jeans. And what to take to wear to temple on Friday night.

Re: Wonderful Wed.
Dd35 may be having an allergic reaction to a cillan drug, and the alarming thing is swelling of the lips. But she has a rash across abdomen, at sides under arms and some on upper arms, also feels her eyes are swollen. If ya'll are so inclined, I'd appreciate you sending up a prayer with mine.

Re: Wonderful Wed.
Harriet, yes! Praying for quick relief for dd35! Please let us know how she's doing later on tonight... maybe a visit to the ER should be considered?
Twins... isn't it so aggravating to have to consider shaving/not shaving every time you pack? I know I hate that when we do trips. Ugh. Started to say this is ANOTHER problem men don't have. Then I remembered... duh... they have to consider it every morning!
(((FF))) -- I imagine 2.5 hours w/the dentist would be about enough for anyone!
And (((Harmony))) -- I hear what you are saying.
Well... for my quote of the day would be something about "the best laid plans of mice and men..."
That PODA? Yeah. Didn't happen. Well, most of it didn't happen.
After we walked 1 mile, then dh sorta had a burst of energy and said, "Let's go over there (dmil's) and sort some of that stuff out now. We can make a box for dbil, dniece, and dnephew, and get a lot of that stuff done without him." So... for better or worse, we spent the next FIVE HOURS doing just that. DS came and helped, and we took all the pictures off the walls, emptied drawers, etc. etc. Dbil might not appreciate our efforts, but we are glad to be making progress.
So... the PODA turned out lie this:
[x] exercise
[ ] s/s bathrooms
[/] start laundry
Washed/dried new pillows as recommended. I liked mine pretty well, but dh says his feels "stickery" (scratchy?) Could be pillowcases -- old ones, but seldom used.
[x] return call to dfriend who left message earlier this morning
[ ] call dmom
[ ] work on my rock project -- got two more words from another dfriend & her mom yesterday
[x] decluttered/sorted/organized for five hours at dmil's
[x] home/supper/s2s
We are pooped too!

So many times it seems that way... people who try to do right suffer and the others just go their merry way.So many out-of-work people just doing their own thing, legal or not, and those of us with licenses and insurances to pay and permit fees...well we're the ones having a rough time.

Re: Wonderful Wed.
Off to bed.
A lot of unfinished work. Still have more prayers and a blessing to write but normally I write some of them in support/response to the sermon and so then I found myself starting the sermon. That's about 1/3 done and I'm stuck so need to go to bed and tackle it fresh in the morning.
