SEEMINGLY SIMPLE SATURDAY

What can you do that's 'seemingly simple' to others? Mine right off the starting line is simply making our bed. DD always marvels, "Your bed's already made". That's where routines, become habit, are seemingly simple.

I should mention after all the rhetoric about dsonil's job in Tampa and him being transferred back to Plant City -the guy hired to take his place. Well, he is no more. They let him go when it became quite obvious that he didn't know one tool or appliance from another. And (supposedly) dsonil is supposed to inherit his supervisor's job in a couple of months. We'll see -at any rate he's back working in Tampa.

I slept fairly well last night. Got up around midnight and slept in the chair for a couple of hours, then went back to the bed and slept until 7ish. A good night's sleep, seemingly simple, but escapes me most nights -feels oh so good!

Dh and dsonil evidently have gone to the flea market. Pretty cool out (for down south) -about 49. Pray for warmth, comfort and safety for all you in the northern states.

Have the electric fireplace back on, trying to warm it up in here a little -it's only 65 in here. To be comfortable, the thermometer needs to read nearer 70.

again thank you for yesterday! I am going to try to wrap my head around dd's care and d uncles care today and adjust my schedule to fit with the new week. I am the only family near by. After talking to uncle yesterday I realized he is planning on me caring for him even though my brother hired someone to help him. So my prayer is that dd younger stays healthy (gets healthy) and I can balance the time needed for care of uncle. I am going to have to talk to family in general if dd younger has problems.

Alright-y its time to open the shades and let in all that beautiful sunshine and change my thought process. Dh and I will go this am to visit uncle. My goal today is to work on my focus room, laundry room, as I didn't work on that room the end of the week, (like I had planned). Normally my routine today would be to vacuum and wash all the floors, dust the rooms surface-ly as well as cleaning the bathrooms but I will make it as simple.

I slept to 7 am and it was absolutely wonderful!!! dd younger is still sleeping and I am sure she is enjoying it!

I have to pull all donations together so that dh can take them.

Well, it's actually not so cold up here, relatively speaking. We're forecast to get above freezing, 38* today and 40*tomorrow - with rain tomorrow. On all our snow? THAT will be a mess. We'll see what actually transpires. Weather website says we got up to 50* yesterday?? I think that is a mistake.

I'm hoping to get caught up on some things today - some errands, finishing NY cards, some housework, clearing the driveway of slushy snow which we didn't bother to shovel after the last 2" fell.. . .However, I've been up for 3 hours and don't have much to show for it besides emails checked, a couple sent, cat fed, dogs in and out, bfast eaten, and s2bf. . . .

I'll be happy to have dh home late this afternoon too. We're both worried about how he'll do at the dept. dinner tonight. . . . We can always leave early if he starts falling asleep at the table, which is a real possibility.

Will be low 60s here today and sunny. The birds have been singing like it's spring already!

I've had coffee and my tummy is cautiously trying to digest I think. Not quite sick, but not well either. I need to have dMacs at PT at 11 so will get ready for that. If I feel well enough will go to dinner tonight with the guy who was to be our house guest and hopefully others.

Good morning, villagers ~
I didn't get to conga around the house at all yesterday, but errands went well. The sun was shining. I had a nice lunch with my friend Z, found 2 blouses for work at my favorite consignment shop, and bought a cart full of groceries at Aldi.

My favorite clothing consignment shop is going out of business, closing next month. I'm going to have to go back to buying my plus-size clothing at retail prices.

I ran out of time yesterday to pick up the coat rack I loaned the library for last weekend's tea party, so I need to go there this morning.

I also need to ask whomever is working the counter about the staff meeting on Tuesday. The children's librarian told me that it will be a pot luck lunch, she is bringing soup, and someone else is bringing dessert, but she didn't know what the other 2 are planning to bring. I don't know any of them well enough yet to know their food preferences, but I have a good salad recipe that I think would work with her soup, if no one else is bringing salad.

Other than that 1 errand, I am supposed to have this whole weekend free of commitments.

Blessedw2 ~ Of course you love your d uncle, but dd needs you more right now. Does he know how much time you and dd have had to spend at the hospital recently? Maybe it's time to start telling him how concerned you are about her health issues. Possibly solve 2 concerns at once, 1) encourage him to think about her instead of himself, and 2) make him understand that you need to be with her, so your time to be available to him is limited. You may have to bluntly tell him that you can do X for him but no more, set some boundaries. Maybe call him every time you take dd to therapy and are waiting for her, so he is included in your family news but doesn't expect to see you in person more than once a week. (Blessedw2)

I was able to sleep in today fed the hens last night. It has been raining here in the night but sun is trying to break through the clouds now.

I will let the roo out in a bit after 8.

Still in pjs. Bed is made and my clothes laid out to put on when I finally get clean.

Aside from that, I've done nothing today. Slept poorly last night, so that's part of my lethargy but in general, I'm not very productive these days. Can only do one thing so focusing on steps seems to be it. Thinks like paperwork and writing get in the way of steps (although I do some writing while on the treadmill.)

Stepping away from the computer now. Mainly because it needs recharging. Have been charging my phone off the USB port this morning so the battery is going down a bit faster than usual.

Good Morning Dear Ladies,

We got sunshine! Temps heading for the 70's today. Supposed to have several warm days before it plummets back to cold again. We are getting a variety of weather.

My one seemingly simple thing is a load of laundry. I'm trying to space out my laundry rather that do it all on one day. That way maybe I can get something more done on Mondays.

After several washer wars, DH said each of us got a day to do our laundry. The washer wars consisted of mostly one dson leaving his laundry sitting in either the washer or dryer and not taking them out so someone else could use them and not have to do the first person's laundry. Dson who now resides in NC would do this. He would put his clothes in the washer and start it up and then forget about them. As Mom I would follow through and put them in the dryer and then fold them although it did irritate me because it was when my shoulder was hurting a lot and I didn't feel like lifting more wet clothes than I needed. The other sons weren't as nice as I and would take the wet clothes out and put them back in the basket and put theirs in. Or if his clothes were in the dryer they would just heap them up on top of the dryer, even if they needed to be dried a bit more. This led to a lot of fighting so DH said each of us had a day to do our laundry and nobody else could do their laundry on another's day without asking that person.

But since Dson in now in NC and I hope he has worked out his laundry issues, the rest of us work together fine and move our laundry into and out of the appliances on time and the washer and dryer are ready for the next person to use. We tore up the laundry schedule when he left. I just have to reschedule things now in my head.

You're a nicer mom than me, Sadie. When I had kids at home doing their own laundry, I would move wet clothes to the dryer, but I would not redry or fold clothes in the dryer; I would just pile them on the laundry room counter.

Yes, I agree - Booksaver's advice to blessed is great!! I'm not following things here extremely closely, but letting duncle know more about dd seems to make sense. Maybe he'll understand that she needs to be the priority now. One only has so much time and so many resources.

Not much done. . . Laundry is gathered and first lol is almost done. I have s2sed and made progress on the a.m. routine. I've had a bit of lunch, probably need a bit more.

It is already noon.

My tummy is not 100% by any means but I am surviving. Had a banana and part (or all?) of a boiled egg for breakfast. I may have left part of the boiled egg where a dog (Moses) could have scarfed it up. I'm going to walk Moses around the block.
