SEEMINGLY SIMPLE SATURDAY

Did a few things clear clothes out of the bathroom K in C that sounds like a workable schedule. Roo is out of his roo coop & fed hens.
Breakfast is done.
Called about getting pill Rx going to pick up later.
Store run needed.
I need to text family about things to drop off for them.
Rv show is this weekend h is going while I am at my spinning meeting. Also a good plan. It was good to get up and see the work I had done on the counters last night.

Yes I could use a simple Saturday.
I too need to consider a walk before the daylight gets away from me.

It's a seemingly simple Saturday here. The gusty winds are blowing, the rain pours on and off, and the lights/power blinked off a couple of times. I've got electric rollers in my hair, I'm doing computer "stuff" in case the power goes out, and I'm planning on making more bookmarks, too. I want to bake myself some oat bran muffins, if we keep our power, or when the storm settles down.

I put the dirty laundry into the utility room laundry basket, after I s2s, etc.... Made my side of our bed; DH did his. I tidied up the bathroom counter, got out my muffin mix, and DH found the papers for the muffin tin. I looked and looked, but couldn't "SEE" them.

I've got 2 people I want to write, to send bookmarks to, and I plan to crochet, do in-house walking, my 90-minutes of light to moderate housework, and move a bit more today, than yesterday.

DH took up 'Mail Art' envelopes, decorated for Valentine's Day. I've been enclosing Valentines cards, to friends, family, and pen pals, and then last night, I made 3 of them wonderful bookmarks, from red & pink embossed paper with (I think it's called this) sheer organza ribbons, pulled through the heart-shaped paper punch hole, then knotted, to secure them. Pretty! ♥ Fun to do, too!

I'm dressed and have eaten lunch. Helped dh with the new sung blessing but got nowhere with it. He just can't hear the chords in this one and it looks like there will be a different chord for almost every note, at least every bar, and there are a lot of notes! It is a rollicking piece, I was trying to leave them with something uplifting each week. I've made the decision to scrap it and go with the traditional God be with you til we meet again. Don't like the lyrics totally but they'll like it enough. Just not the cheery piece I was looking for.

Still need to work on the anthem for tomorrow for our regular church service. I've picked "keep on the sunny side of life" for the anthem at the retirement home services.

I've decided the telescope is going back to Costco. So now I have to pack it all away. Hope I remember how it all went (there are about 35 pieces to it.) The 60x magnification is just too much and it takes up far too much room. Today I spent ages trying to find a group of ice fishermen. The field of vision is too small. Once I figured it out, the viewing position for me (bent over, one eye squinting) was just too uncomfortable. We have 8x binoculars and this blew them away (with them I could see something white that looked like it was a building in the hills but with the telescope I could clearly see it was a satellite dish) but I'm not willing to give up the room in the living room for it (I had to move the recliner each time I had to fill the pans on the radiator and last night dh had to move a plant away from the tv because it was displaced by the telescope.)

So I guess that's my afternoon project. We'll also have to walk for milk. That will get me some fresh air.

Booksaver, I went back, to read your post, after reading Blessedw2 's post. Your idea's so smart! It would included the Uncle, he'll have a better idea, as to what all is involved, for Blessed and DD, and there will still be boundaries, yet there will be healthy communication. I liked it. Very good idea.

I'm on my way to check emails and oh! I just remembered: I have electric rollers in my hair. Oops. They've been in my hair about 1/2-hour now. Oh, well. I wanted CURLS! Now I've got them.

Cat thoughts : d old cat 19 years old... had a problem last week where his cyst next to a c. tumor in his ear broke (you can imagine) - we brought him to the vet and they cleaned him and gave him antibiotics. He slept a couple days and then started feeling better. but now his third eyelid on his cancer ear side - will not retract and his eye looks like it is looking to the upper right corner with his 3rd eyelid taking over 1/2 the eye. He is very happy, no pain, wanting to be cuddled. I am wondering if he had a stroke when all this happened? Any thoughts of what this could be. I know he is old and has cancer in one ear.. they say he is fine and he shows no sign of pain at all. I will ask dh to take him to the vet on Monday as I have to drive to Bloomington Sunday and won't be back until Monday.

* washed dishes that I left in sink last night
* ordered C oach purse I found on discount site for approx. $75
-- hope this will not be ANOTHER big regret purchase, but I have been looking for a purse something like this forever, and I will NOT pay full C oach prices. I had a fake one that I carried till it was literally falling apart & this is the nearest thing I can find to it anywhere!
* 3rd load of clothes in the washer
* went to post office, grocery store, and bank
* talked to dmom... three times... no she hasn't made it out here yet, but still promises she will (to look at some of dmil's furniture)

* got tv to come on in ds's old room/dgs's "playroom"
-- three times I tried to turn it on, got nothing but blue screen, called ds, left message, ds called back, I went to try the fourth time (to tell ds what it was doing), everything works perfectly. (DS & DH are gone to college town.)

This morning activities went smoothly even with doing 32 extra miles of driving due to sharing a vehicle.

LO passed his Karate belt test last night. I almost wish I had been able to attend after listening to them tell about LO sparring with 2 black belts. I'm sure the guys version of the sparring matches left out the times that I would have been cringing and covering my eyes. LO was physically exhausted after the 4 hours of testing though and really had to push himself this morning to get up and attend basketball camp. He was eager to take a nap this afternoon. DGD3 napped for about an hour but LO is still sleeping....3 hours later!

DD came to see DGD3 today but didn't stay long. She will come get DGD3 on Tuesday. I told DD about a speech program I found for DGD3 and DD could talk to the speech pathologist on Tuesday to get DGD3 started. Maaaaaybe DD will do it......

Oh, LadyM , I'm praying, too! It would be so nice!

I received 1 Valentine's Day card from a pen pal and another friend, who is an accomplished and published poet from Wisconsin, wrote to me. My poet friend gave me the name of a writer's group, so I joined it. I'll also research poetry markets on-line, too. I got out my 3" - 4" thick poetry book, which DD gave me a long time ago. I got out 2 poetry books, too, "The Writer's Digest" Magazines I have on hand. Will read those magazines, then purge, if I don't see what I want. Also, will Exacto Knife out pages, to staple together, to keep, if I see something worthy of keeping. I found a file full of print-outs from the 'Tera's Wish' writers/artists website, to read through, too. She's super about us all going for our dreams.

I made 2 more Valentine's Day bookmarks. I need to make 2 more. 1 has a rose-colored raffia string on it and 1 has the red & white string. They're both equally pretty, too. Will do computer letters with clip art, to go with them; probably tomorrow.

I tidied up my bathroom drawers, where I keep the bun covers, scrunchies, hair things, and crocheted facecloths. The drawers look so much better! It only took 5 minutes, but looks like I took 3 HOURS to do it! Must've been working fast? Or in a fast & orderly way.

I put more things, in the 2 boxes, for Ddil. They're filled up now. I'll give her more papers, card stock, and rubber stamps, at another time, in 1 - 2 more boxes again. It's nice to be "blessing" her like this. She'll be so surprised, too! AND I'm not emailing HER OR DSON, to tell them I'm doing this either! It'll be so much fun, to see the look on her face!

I feel so much better than I did at 1 - 3 a.m., with the GERD and the Gastritis attacking me out of the blue. It's nice. Oh, and I napped in my recliner again, too. It's nice to do that, especially on a cold warm stormy day, like today.

Oh, I just looked to my right, off the desk, and I have a basket with some writer's magazines in it. I'll read through those, too, and the most recent ones will go to DGS-16.5, the writer. He writes books, saves them to the cloud, and things like that.

I'd better run and watch the news, I suppose. Haven't heard from Dsis for 2 days, she's having terrible shoulder trouble and I don't know if she's had her MRI and perhaps an urgent surgery or what. I hate to call, because she's worked today, her DH doesn't work weekends, so when she's home on Saturday, and has her day off on Sunday, I hate to interrupt them. They're in the desert SW and go hiking, travel and things. I sent her a letter and Thinking of You card today, so she'll get that, most likely, on or around Tuesday or Wednesday, I think. She has a tablet she can use the voice activation typing thing on, to type as she speaks, too. I bet she's just been too busy the past couple of days, but wouldn't doubt if it's shoulder-related, as to why she hasn't emailed.

We're going to watch a science fiction movie with Tom Cruise tonight. DH is looking it up now. It's called "Edge of Tomorrow," where he's killed over and over again. It's on HBO at 8 p.m. Pacific Time. Sounds good, if you like De Ja Vue stuff. (Personally- I DO NOT!) But I do my "thing", like read, journal, crochet, and putter, while DH has the TV on. We're together, yet he's happily watching TV and if I can keep quiet, so he can watch movies, etc... it works out great for me, too, because I'm with him, yet I'm being productive, getting "my stuff" done. Occasionally, I DO nothing, and just "focus" on the movie WITH him. It's nice to do that, too.
