8 to 10 inches of snow here, perhaps? A very nice snow indeed, and it started coming down just as dh got home. I made soup (Italian sauce with wild rice, tomato and veggies) and we had a quiet evening. He's already bored and has gone out to look at the roads.... So I suspect he'll head out to work at some point today. Depending on what happens with the roads, I may venture out by the afternoon, we'll have to see. We are inside the city now probably 1/2 mile going downhill toward a major road.

I talked to h. About calling the plumber this spring to get hot water to thd washer and a better set ip for the drain duct tape is no longer cutting it there has to be a better way. -sigh-
Quite a widespread winter storm. Hmmm... ... so lucylee reports 10 and Twins' Mom 8 to 10 inches of snow. I'd say we got 5 inches, and so did my dd35, although her area is much more plagued by power outages. I hope the boys get to play outside. I predict a lot of photos from both dd35 and ds29's families. Sadie's son's area got "between 3 and 5".
We are definitely housebound, yes, and doing laundry. This fell on top of an ice blanket here. As I did my outdoor chores just before the snow started last night I was crunching through ice. The snow tends to insulate the ice underneath.
We were stunned that the university dd plans to attend (and at which dd35 got her bachelor's degree, mostly while living at home) intends to open for afternoon classes as normal after 12, while authorities are asking people to stay off roads and hundreds of flights at the airport are cancelled. This because in an oddity of the storm, the campus itself didn't have much snowfall. Those commuting there simply wouldn't be able to attend, and that would include instructors like my cousin who lives near me. Dd's friends in attendance there are scrambling, with parents trying to decide what to do, especially about their students' drive back home. I think it's ridiculous. I certainly hope dd35's university doesn't do this. I checked and they are solidly closed, thank goodness.

Good morning everyone! I am not staying at home on Thursday, it's another 'hit the ground running' day at payroll. (Always a good thing - means lots of work and never boring). Occasional snowflakes that melt before hitting the ground. In fact, it is not that cold today. Which is good because I waited 30 extra minutes for the train. The announcements kept saying it was running late and they had no info on when it would be there. I read my book until I had to leave to get to work on time. On other weeks, I could have waited, but this week I cannot miss the 830 meetings. I have to report on the problem tickets (a good report consisting of lots of progress made and no new tickets today).
Tonight, I have DD13 and will try to convince her that she does not need Chinese again (we had it Tuesday). One good thing - I have found another dish I like at the usual place. AND it is enough to serve as lunch the next day!
Of the stuff on my list yesterday, 4 out of 5 are done: meeting, bills, cooking, collect things to bring in to work. I did not work on the auction shawl, but since it is due in April and needs only finish off, weave ends, and blocking, I am not worried.

Hello! Time for a lunch break! I came in here to cuop about 1 1/2 hours ago and decided I wanted a cup of coffee. Got sidetracked while in the kitchen and came back without the coffee.
I had mentioned to dh last week that it would be nice to document the train sets with pictures before giving them to dsons. He decided that today would be the day and he is busy unpacking the boxes one at a time. He sets up one train at a time on dining room table and called me to see and take pictures, then packs it back up again. He's doing the third one now. After I took pictures of the first two I made my sandwich; waiting for him to call me again.
Morning routine finished, bedroom and kitchen cleaned up; vacuumed carpet in bedroom, hallway and dining room. Have to decide what I want to do this afternoon, there is some paperwork, mostly medical papers needing separated and filed.
Wow, this winter storm is something. Anywhere from 4" to 12" of snow across the southern states causing all sorts of trouble for a lot of folks! We had a lot of wind and dark overcast yesterday with temps in the 70s. We were supposed to get thunderstorms overnight, but I don't think it rained. Cooler today at 63*. Hoping everyone is safe and warm!

What a quiet day this is! DH went on to work at my house, I have a 3 p.m. appt for Moses at the vet, and I've been working on the online "sources and citations" course. Oy vey. I've done the last module and took the quiz and only got 4 right of 10. I hope I can figure this out....but it's also kind of like tax law, it's something you can look up any time you need it so you don't have to know everything there is out there. So I am going again.
I'm hoping I can get Moe into the car to get him to the vet - he's limping on a front foot so may not be happy climbing up.

Sunny, I also got some documenting photos today which will make life more organized. How did we used to manage when it was such a big deal to get a photo of anything?
Last evening I got an email with a $25 dollar price break on $50 purchase at a catalog co. because I haven't shopped there in a while. Used that right away for sensible jeans, so I felt virtuous.
Lucked out and found 2 of my salad plates on ebay for half the price the replacement places charge, IF you can find them. That just never happens, and they are the one item of my plates that has the most chips. So I'm very pleased to have them on the way. These dishes are starting to become rare after the years pass, I guess.
Looked at a bowl in the pattern, too, and wish I could replace a broken one. Hmmm... ... but it seems overpriced and I'm too cheap. Noticed there is also a pretty oval serving dish, which I've never had. Something to consider in future as Mother's Day or birthday hinting.
An hour of kitchen declutter, a laundry load through to folded. Hallway sconce lightbulbs changed.
Dd took a snow walk and cleared the car and back steps, let the hens out to keep them from going crazy. She's drinking hot cocoa now and sitting on her cold feet on the couch.
And I'm doing this online course for fun? Five out of 10 this time, barely better than the first time. I did copy each question and the choices to a Word document that I used to make my notes on what I thought was wrong with each citation but I spent 45 minutes this time doing the 10 question quiz so I'm not sure how much more analysis will help me. Aaaaaagh! I can't let this get the best of me, tho.
