Dinner is done and mostly cleaned up.

We are watching Bletchley Circle which is too scary for me. Luckily the first series is just 3 episodes (a 3 part story) and we'll stop watching this after tomorrow night.

The graham cracker crumb base for the church cheesecake just came out of the oven.

So I'm slowly making progress.

Won't get my steps in for today, I'm too tired to get on the treadmill. I'll need to get on the treadmill tomorrow morning and 'bank' some steps for the rest of the week since Saturday will be a wipe out and tomorrow afternoon/evening is also not a lot of walking. You'd think a church supper would get lots of steps but I've learned otherwise. I guess I spend too much time leaning against a kitchen counter chatting!

Harmony, yes, dsons all know about the trains. I am sorry you felt dizzy on the ferry ride. Maybe it happened if your sinuses are stuffy and your balance would be off a little. ((Hugs)) !

Dee, how awful to have all that water overflow. Clean up would be no fun for sure -- no wonder you both are tired! I hope nothing is ruined permanently. Wish I could help somehow! ((Hugs)) !

I ditched the paperwork this afternoon and played with all the yarn. Several small containers are now organized together in one three-compartment tote; much neater and easier to access.

Me either, Sunny. Going to be a few days before we know. We have the electric fireplace on, the window open, the ceiling fan on, 3 other fans going as well and the fan's on in the bathroom. We're now finding the carpet is wet over by the sides of the bed as well. I'll be wearing my winter nightgown tonight.

No-bake cheesecake is chilling now in the fridge. The brownies (made earlier this week) are defrosting in the fridge. Dishwasher is running; the things that didn't fit in it are washed except for my tea much.

I'm off to bed now since I'm too tired to keep my eyes open.

I don't know how much snow we got between yesterday afternoon and last night, maybe 5 inches? Not bad, and it was not heavy to shovel, but I did have to shovel the whole driveway because my car rides too low to the ground to go through more than 2 inches.

I just checked the forecast for tonight, and I wish that I hadn't. I didn't really need to know that we will have record-breaking cold temps overnight. But the good news is: no more new snow until Saturday, so I should be able to go out and run errands tomorrow.

Work at the library tonight was very uneven, alternating no one for a long block of time and then a big rush of people with unusual requests. Of course the final big rush came at 10 minutes before closing time, so we had to work a bit late to finish our closing checklist.

It struck me this afternoon that I have worked only the bare minimum number of volunteer hours this week. I've checked Emails and returned phone calls each day, but that's about it. I'm ok with that, because I've been concentrating on doing things for my own family. I'll have a bunch of reports to run for the sewing and library groups next week, but until then I'll keep dealing with personal chores.

Speaking of which, the cat is telling me that she's staaaaaaarving because no one has fed her in for.eh.ver -- over 4 hours ago, how can we expect a cat to survive thaaaat looooong without new food?

So very sorry (Dee). You don't want to hear the story of my stepson & family out of town while toilet leaked down from 2nd story and flooded 1st. They lived in efficiency motel room while drywall was replaced, carpets, wiring, etc. I hope your fix is much less traumatic.

Yes, I forgot to say that I was so sorry to hear of the water troubles, Dee. I hope the carpet dries out well. ((HUGS))

We almost had water troubles when an 8 or 9 month old dd16 crawled under our sink and disconnected our dishwasher -- while it was running. I had left the kitchen for 3 minutes to go do something frivolous like go to the bathroom. When I came back, dd16 was sitting inside the cupboard under the sink very happily holding the gushing hose and babbling effusively. The floor was tile, we kept nothing of consequence under the sink (our way of babyproofing as all sorts of child locks (we tried several kinds) did not work at all with child #1 so we never bothered with those gizmos; we very quickly screwed boxes into the walls over all our outlets when we observed him unplugging cords and then effortlessly re-plugging them in at 9 months; those plastic plugs that go in the outlets were useless) and I knew how to turn off the water - so not much damage was done. Dd16 was soaking wet, of course - but oh, so happy with herself!!

I'm calling it a night. I'm not ready for the meeting tomorrow morning yet, but I'm going to get up early tomorrow and finish putting things together. I've ordered bagels and coffee and will have until 8:40 to get things done. My quiz is made and the kitchen is clean!! Dh called and I talked with him for a bit.

Haven't cuop yet -- did NOT stay home today. No housework has been done, laundry is piling up, I don't know what my problem is. Captain Adventure had us out looking for newspapers... and then we ate supper and went to a movie. OH -- but I did finish the rock project for dmom's birthday. Still sorta juggling lunch/dinner plans for Sunday b/c she doesn't know what she feels up to. DS was fine with attending our church as usual, and ddil has made sure she is off work Sunday, so we are able to adapt to whatever dmom wants to do. She said she wanted to go shopping, so for the first time ever, I am just going to give her $$ w/the promise to go shopping after her doctor's appt Wed.

I did see where Harmony was asking if this was not unusual for us -- 10.5 inches of snow. YES. Very unusual. Probably the most we've had since 1963, actually. Usually we get a lot of ice and very little snow. However, I think last year we had around 7 inches. That was a good snow, too -- I mean, good for playing in and all that, not just icy and messy.
OTOH -- I have done as little outdoors as humanly possible and would probably have stayed in bed all day long except for dh.
Glad to see pictures from ds & family though. They did the whole bit -- snowman, fort, snow angels. Nice happy smiles from dgs. I would have stayed outside with him if he had been here, but honestly, I'm just as happy to look at the pictures and think, how nice for them. I just do not do cold weather very well.

DS did have some water problems at dmil's house. Outside well pump pipe burst and saturated the ground, causing water to flood the newly de-mildewed basement. DS takes it all in stride... said they turned off the pump, mopped up as much as possible, and he left the sump pump and a fan to do the rest.
He said it burst above ground and looked like Old Faithful when he saw it. Luckily, this is not the water source for the house -- it is just an old, outside well that dmil used when watering flowers and stuff like that. DS plans to fix it but there is definitely no rush.
