FAST FRIDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

First of all, Friday arrived again really fast! And do you have something you can whiz through "fast"? And then feel 'accomplished'? Think here it will be a lol -when I get back from working at church and a shopping trip. Vould have started laundry earlier but I know from a comment dd made the other day that there will be dsonil's laundry to deal with first. I had joked the other day that when they buy a new house someday that perhaps they should get a double with 2 laundry rooms -one for dsonil. We could use the other one and she could share with us. The laundry room has become his closet/dressing room over time. He does do his own laundry and that's one plus. But it's always left in the dryer (and I'm one who HAS to fold as I take things out of the dryer -no matter whose they are!) and if they're folded they're left in stacks (and stacks) in the laundry room.

Have a good Friday, Fast though it may be. Speaking of "F", I sure hope Feline Friend visits soon and that she's alright.

I have a full Friday.

Cat litter box is full.
Laundry hamper is full.
Sink is full.

... I will be emptying all of these.

I would like to leave here in an hour to do what out-of-the-house stuff I need to finish as well.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

This has been a fast week and will be a fast Friday as well.

Good day yesterday - I had an afternoon nap which I think probably helped me process some of the family stuff that dcousin and I talked about. I had a good time last evening at stamp club too.

Today I've talked to the vet already about dMacs (we are adjusting one of his meds) and have an appointment to get Moses stitches out at 11. Macs hadn't eaten since night before last; I got him to eat this morning by mixing canned food in with some dry food. He hasn't had another episode of incontinence so he'll go to PT tomorrow too. We are just watching the situation.

Also confirmed my massage/body work appt at 3 this afternoon. In between I need to get a few groceries. Dh and I are supposed to go to an event this evening at 7:30 but his flight doesn't get in until 7:15. He is going to try to get onto an earlier flight, but no guarantees, so I don't know what the evening will bring. Tomorrow one of us will go to the ATL to p/u ds at GT. I think dd also has spring break but not sure when/if she is coming home. We played phone tag last night and I hope we'll talk today.

I really need to get into gear for an evening party here on March 21 at our house. Eeeeek! I have two meat lasagnes in the freezer but need to make one or more veggie lasagnes as well. Guests are bringing side dishes or desserts and a bottle of wine, but I need to also provide soft drinks and some appetizers. Also spruce up the front/back porches, declutter, do some "spring" decorating and send up prayers for good weather. Oooooh. Also probably need to consult re phone calls for RSVP follow up. Hoping that dh will do some of them. So all in all, I just need to get it organized.

Morning y'all

Harriet... My "laundry room" in the first house I bought was in my hallway Where my bedrooms were. 38 years later the builders here in this area are putting them there as well. My friend just had a new two story house built and her laundry room ... And it is a room... Is one her second floor. Her husband hunts so when he comes home he takes hi nasty stuff off in their entrance to the house throught the garage, puts it in a laundry basket and carries it upstairs when he goes to take a shower. My laundry saw a snap to do when it was near the bedrooms. Just fold and put away. I loved it.

After being lost in the past for 9 hours yesterday with no real results... Every one in this family was one of 10-14 kids and each kid had as many as well. Plus families seemed to name several boys in the their family the same name ... I am taking a break.

The grocery store is on my list and I'm about to head out after I finish my second cup of coffee.

More coffee, Rr I like reading about laundry areas. Sil does not like it near the bedrooms so he can skeep better when laundry is going later, they have a very smal laundry room dd said she has laundry room envy. Ours is down stairs with tge furnace, freezer and sewing craft area set up. H just tosses his work clothes down there no need for a laundry shoot like we had when I was a kid in our 75 yr old house.

I have done chicken chores rolled out fencing so it will be flat to protect the lawn. Roo is in until eight today maybe later.... hens are staying in till ten lawn needs a break.

I told DH in our next house (if there is one) he could put my laundry in the garage against an outside wall. That way the dryer vent goes directly outside and doesn't get clogged up, like the ones that have to go up through the walls and through the roof. Those get clogged with lint and need cleaned out - up on the roof - and that's dangerous and hard to do. Something else to think about.

I'm having a fast Friday for sure. I was up super early. Don't know what's up with the surge of energy I got this week, but I'm grateful and taking advantage of it. I've already been to the bank for deposit and another bank for mortgage payment.

I stopped for things to replant the garden. I had lots of trouble loading the manure bag (50 lb.) into the cart but after second try managed that. Tried the huge bale of peat moss, but although that was less weight it was bigger and everytime I lifted it the cart would get pushed aside. Finally a guy came and helped. I used to be able to do this stuff, not without difficulty, but certainly not this hard. I am having trouble with one shoulder, it's sore with arthritis, and today was especially bad, so I couldn't load those bags easily.

I got some seeds, tomato plants but after 2 places couldn't find bell-type peppers. Nobody had any. Had to come home then as DH called that he couldn't get connected to internet and I don't know much more about stuff than he does, but I do have more patience to work on things until they work again. By the time I got here, he'd figured out how to get going by resetting the modem.

Going back out to get the peppers someplace else. I want to redo the front plantings also, and that will be a huge job...I guess I'll look at the bushes too.

We called the power company because jobsite is without electric. We're ok because we're 3 streets away, but power company says 25 people called in so far. Hope they fix it quickly, DH is using a saw up there.

Booksaver, I read your post last night about the series of books at library. I read series all the time and just love them when I find an author I like. I'd love if they'd put a dot/number on them so I'd know which was next. I usually look them up on the net and write them down in order and check them off as I read. I believe our library puts authors together and multiple books of the same title together, regardless of the order of the series. I've been disappointed before to read something out of order...and then get confused! Also wanted to say, if the author has written several different series, I just write a list for each one seperately. Dates of publication wouldn't help in those cases.

Not properly catching up, but. . .

Done:
- up
- said good bye to dd16
- fed cat
- tea
- checked email and web sites; sent 3 or 4 emails; mostly moms group stuff
- prepped 2 snail mail bills for the mail; put them in the box
- printed out photo project for class; photos of situations around the school that use prepositions.
- s2s and basic self care; will need to put on some make up before I leave for payroll
- WW - down 1.7 lbs. I think a lot of that is H2O.
- Target
- put everything away
- tended hens

Next:
- progress on a.m. routine
- lunch
- make quiz for class today
- look over tutee A's material; he was supposed to email me an essay or 2 but hasn't yet. . . .Maybe he'll bring one with him.

Later:
- otd around 1:00
- review rough draft of writing final exam for my class that my supervisor is making. Talk to her, either before or after class today. The writing final exams are next Wednesday.
- payroll, 1:30 - 3:30
- drive to library; tutor A
- home around 6:20
- out to eat w/ dh at favorite downtown Italian restaurant; dd16 is going to some school event, a synchro swim meet, I think. SO glad she decided not to do that this year. It's nice not to have that in our schedule.

We have a huge laundry room. It is directly under our kitchen in the basement, and about the exact same size as our kitchen. I think the laundry room sink lines up with our kitchen sink. We think the previous owners put the old kitchen cupboards and counters down there, so there's a ton of storage space. In fact, we use it for storage too. It wraps around a wall and gives us access under our stairs, where we have stored boxes of documents, photos, and memorabilia, as well as our ski equipment. The camping equipment is more accessible; in fact, the sleeping bags are hanging from a rod dh put in close to the ceiling that stretches from one side of the room to the other (short way). Sleeping bags shouldn't be stored wadded up in their bags. Kitty litter and food are down there too.

The room could use some paint and sprucing up, though, and the old kitchen counter down there is incredibly ugly, old brown tile.
