Irish on Tuesday

Post by Harriet »

Found this webcam series of views of Dublin today, St. Patrick's Day. I hope it continues to play well, in case anyone wants to see. Just so interesting to see so much of a faraway city and think of the connections we have with our world. So many countries give an amused nod to Ireland today.

There's a small amusement park today with rides and merry-go-round at Talbot Bridge in one direction. I think the traffic, especially the double-decker yellow buses, is so interesting. They are four hours ahead of EST, so at 8:00 a.m. EST, for instance, the webcam was viewing their noon activities.

Seems like I've just had a visit to Ireland thank you Harriet. Finally tore myself away.

Pdoc today. He understood my need to go to ground this last week.
My medical card was canc as 'apparently' powers that be are sending a new one as this one expires in May ???
I had some choice words. Glad though it wasn't last week when expenses were 4 figures. My refund from today will be delayed and processed whenever.
Pd water bill. Transferred money back that I'd taken from another account to pay last weeks bill.
few groceries.
Just begin.

I'm amazed at what I've gotten done the last two days. Pansies on the front porch, back porch looking better, raised bed from last summer's tomatoes (finally) cleaned up. I got in over 10K steps yesterday along the way yesterday too.

Today I need to do desk day, phone calls/emails re: rsvps for Sat night, and perhaps grocery run? I'm also watching a genealogy webinar this evening at 8 p.m. hopefully.

It would be nice to cook and have dinner with dkids tonight assuming dh will be home?

-breakfast/meds/vitamins
-s2s
-call back lady about window washing
-reschedule mother's podiatrist appt which was supposed to be on Thursday
-evernote review

HRH and I have commitments to attend two meetings today, and I'm regretting being so heavily scheduled, because ds30 and my green-eyed boy will be coming over after those. Ds has a lot to talk to us about. We'll be starting to plan all the babysitting and odds and ends coming up with the birth in April. Have been on the phone with him and with dd35.

Laundry load in dryer. Need to get a meal into myself.

Congratulations to LadyM and dh! Even though, no, you are not old enough for great-grandchildren! :) I looked up the name and see that it is popular now because of the princess-heroine of the Miyazaki movie, but she was modeled after the Odyssey princess in Greek literature. How regal!

Finding myself in a 'disgruntled' mood this morning. Slept till 12:30 (from about 11), was awake a while, then up again at 2:30 until after 4. Had just gone back to sleep and my alarm sounded at 5!  Have no idea why it went off -it was set for that yesterday morning, but I had turned it to "off". Got up turned that off. Finally dozed off and heard dh going out of the bedroom. He had left his phone in here and there was a fire call notice. Then it kept blaring the fire tones about every 2 minutes. I got up after about a 1/2 hour of that and took the phone to dh in the living room. Went back and laid down for 1/2 an hour and then finally got up.

Dh's db is here now. They're leaving shortly to pick up a big keyboard at our pastor's house about 30 miles east of here. They're bringing that back to our church and then going to dbil's house. I'm heading over that way soon.

I've picked up the kitchen and a few other areas. I sometimes go "grrrr" but remember which side my bread's buttered on.  I especially tend to be ready to 'growl' when I go into the laundry room. DD's would be fine, but it is piled literally almost to the ceiling with dsonil's clothes. (And that is not dd's area -he wants to do his own.) Think I've aired this complaint before.

Better sip my coffee and do up the breakfast dishes.

We were supposed to go to friends in Clermont -about 50 miles away yesterday. They called Sunday to say they had to postpone. Called him late yesterday afternoon and he was to call me back last night -not. I realized that we really only have tomorrow and I'm not even too sure about that. Dh may end up having to go back to dsonil's plant in Tampa with him. He's been on the phone with him. He was there all day yesterday and was completely wiped when he got home. Worried me actually. I don't want to go to friend's on Thursday as I already have something going early in the evening and it would be a non-stop day. Friday I have to work at church (our secretary had to go back to Michigan to be with her Mom) and in the afternoon we're meeting dh's 2 brothers and wives for supper around 4:30. Saturday we're going to Sebring to pick up the truck dh is driving back and Sunday is church and then a luncheon. Monday we'll be doing last minute things.

Oh, it'll be fine dblessed. Just need to find some things to smile about -being here is one of them!
I find it a bit embarrassing to think how long it took us to move. We have been in the process of moving for almost 4 months!!!! How is that even possible?
Uh, it's been 5 years since we sold our house and we still have things there! How's that for lengthening a record, Lady M?

Continuing to work here. I have window cleaning - outside only - scheduled for Sat a.m. Will ask dcleaning lady to do an extra job on first floor inside windows on Friday so that will suffice. I just texted dh re: dinner tonight.

PODA for today:

---mother's bank accounts, etc.
---rsvp list, send emails, phone calls
---paper processing, desk clean up
-call about dog sitter for weekend following this one
-back patio - clean up planter for herbs
-grocery? I need a major, major trip
-lamp base repair
-supper/dinner cook or go out tonight?
-webinar at 8 p.m.

Right now:
-do a master list in Excel of who was invited to Sat event and who has responded
-get rid of 10 pieces of paper
-ck mother's bank account and credit card online
-file papers that dh left on my desk (this is in addition to 10 pieces of paper to scan, file, or relocate)
-short walk for ddogs if they want to go
