Re: Thriving Thursday
Oh no! Kathryn's travels are like BSO (Bright shiny object, generally leading me off course for the day.) Will have to try to catch up later!
Too much to do today to linger long...
-p/u meals, get to dmom
-bank for cash, for me and dog sitter
-talk to vet, p/u new meds for Moses
-laundry
-get glasses adjusted
-groceries
-petsmart for dog food
-gift for weekend hosts? (what?)
-shop for something new and suitable for FL weather?
-get ready for cleaning lady tomorrow
-finish up instructions for dog sitter
-what else?
I think Harmony asked the other day about Moe's pain meds - he is getting a strong dose of Tramadol (at a minimum twice the dosage that Macs gets for his arthritis) and he is still limping pretty badly. The vet indicated we could add a steroid (after being off Deramax a couple of days) so we'll see if that gives him a boost.
Right now:
-breakfast, meds, vitamins, me + Macs
-call the vet
-start a lol
-kitchen counters, breakfast bar clean up
-do Evernote review

Re: Thriving Thursday
I'm with Twins! LOL @ BSO! I've skimmed the travelogues but will have to come back at another time to read them properly. The clock here is ticking. 3 hours and 20 minutes before I need to leave for work.
I am taking a morning off from the church moms group. I had to arrange some things to do that. Last night, I dropped off supplies at dfriend's home at 9:30, after dinner guests had left and the kitchen was cleaned up. I then sent an email to a few key leaders, and I was set to play hooky! I need this time to get ready to leave tomorrow. So far, I haven't done much beyond dog care, bfast, check emails, write email to moms group friend, have a part of my QT, email with my supervisor, and make a syllabus for one class. My supervisor says I can have the syllabus for the 2nd class ready next week on Tuesday, so I'll take that bit of work with me on our trip.
Before I go to work, I'd like to:
- get some laundry done
- finish lesson plans for 2 classes
- get the van through the car wash
- clean at least one bathroom
- call to make an ortho. appt. for dd16
- finish a.m. routine
Next:
- finish QT (I really can't spend time praying with dh rummaging around the house; he's off on a run right now)
- s2s and self-care
- finish lesson plans for today

Re: Thriving Thursday
Kathryn - Thank you for the peek into your travels. I love reading it. It is a treat that I go through slowly so I can absorb as much as possible.
It was a short night for us last night. LO missed 3 hours of sleep due to the storms. He was a champ about getting up this morning but I suspect he will be dragging by bedtime tonight. (me too!)
This afternoon I will be taking LO out of school for counselor appt. We will arriving home just long enough to do homework, chores and eat dinner before leaving for ball practice. We should have about 15 minutes before bath/bed routine.
That gives me 5 hours of available time to accomplish as much as I can at home.

LadyM, I'm glad you are all safe and that the new storm cellar is more accessible for you.
Helia, I found BSO used as a term in some of the genealogy Facebook groups, and it's very apt for us too.
Next round:
-quick s2s
-make the bed
-reboot laundry
-walk dMacs
-organized my lists for errands today
---glasses adjusted
---bank
---groceries - update groc list
---petsmart
---JCC
---Mother
---vet p/u later
---stop at mall for shopping?

Re: Thriving Thursday
Morning. Y'all...
I too only had time to skim Kathryn's post as I have a full day ahead of me.
Happy all is safe LadyM. Love the idea your shelter if within your home.
Twins love the pics of your ancestors. My cousins shared a pic of my 4th generation g-mother at age 96. My mother, now 87, looks just like her
Had a great time yesterday at the ballgame. I will miss everyone when they return home for the summer. Norma and Mr Guy leave early Mon morning, but the good news is they woo return the first of October
Off to start my day...I see lots of digging and dirt in my future...enjoy your day

Re: Thriving Thursday
Welcome to Molly's Nana. Come post with us.
Sometime between the time dd left near 7am & the time I left here about 9:30, there was a pretty good accident at our corner. We're less than 400 steps from there so don't know why I didn't hear it. Obviously was 2 vehicles. One went down into the ditch & took out fencing on the way back up. I could see skid marks that way & more toward our side street.
Dh called just as I finished shopping -he called from our RV park up home at 10:06. Not surprised he was there. Said he had rain, hail & fog all the way. Now to see if he can get in our RV to unload the freezeables.
Still have to unload my car..........

Re: Thriving Thursday
RR, the photo on Facebook is dh's great grandparents but it's still amazing to think that these are my kids gr gr grandparents. I have one photo of my dmom's grandfather - my gr grandfather - but other than that just grandparents. I think a cousin on Ancestry has some on my paternal line - I need to look at those sometime and be in touch with her.
I think I'm ready to head out. I think I'll do the mall/shopping first because that's "want to do" not "must do."
Suspect we may eat out tonight if dh is getting home on the early side, don't know his schedule.

Re: Thriving Thursday
Using my day off to drive up to the tulip and daffodil fields. The Tulip Festival starts officially next week, but the fields bloomed early this year due to our very mild winter.
We will appreciate all the little things as Kathryn asked. We truly live better than the kings of the not so distant past!
Have a day filled with gratitude.

Re: Thriving Thursday
Read for a bit and quite predictably dozed off for a bit. Just went out to unload the car (there were no perishables thank goodness) and get the mail. We have a recall for our car and I need to make an appointment for them to update the transmission software -about an hour and a half. Shucks! I don't want to make it next week -it's dd's spring break and we have plans for most of the week. But now I know there's a potential problem I also hate to put it off.
My dh will be delighted to hear that I bought yet another set of scales this morning -we have a running joke about how many sets of scales I've bought over the years. I was very happy with the Dr. scales we had in our house but had no place to put them so bought a new set for our RV and bought another set for here. This winter we decided on a better scale & bought those. In our flood the scales took on a lot of water. Let them dry out (after draining them) and put new batteries in and it seemed to be sort of ok. But lately they've been very dim and hard to see -even with new batteries. Today I decide that they just need to go -probably the works have rusted inside or something more than likely. I'll take the batteries out and leave that open for a while and see if it improves -if so I'll take them home -otherwise in the trash they go.
Guess I'll make a short PODA and get busy. I know better than go out -it's so hard to get moving again once I return home.......Anyone else have that problem?
