I hope you all have Fantastic days today!

The morning is almost done. I'm tired but can't seem to nap. Perhaps this afternoon.

I read a book over the last 24 hours. Can't believe how fast I'm reading. None of these are complicated books but I suspect the lack of 'real life' is making it easier for me to slip into the story and whip through the pages. No distractions here except for constantly saying no to people offering me things.

I popped round the shops this morning (there are 4 on the ship, 2 of which have a few items for under $100) and bought another nativity scene. I saw it, admired it. inquired as to the number on board (3 or 4), said I would consider it, walked away, and in about 100' realized that if I went back later and they were sold out I'd be devastated so returned and bought it. Had her wrap it up for packing.

Got back to the ship and dh asked me what I bought. I said I wasn't telling but he knew me well enough that if he walked by the shop he'd see what it was. He had to drop the sunning towels back to the pool deck and re-entered the cabin a short while later saying "Duh!" I said the only thing wrong with me buying it was that he couldn't buy it for me!

Today is fancy Gala Buffet where food is enchantingly displayed in the main lobby and people take their loaded plates into the dining room to eat. I wondered around, looking at the labels on the chaffing dishes and nothing appeals to me! So I may end up with a burger or sandwich.

My tummy is still a bit iffy. Thankfully tomorrow's tour is only 4 hours. The next day is 7 hours of which over 3 hours is bus ride.

Up early here to finish packing and get stuff ready. Dcleaning lady is coming, dd is dog sitting, we are leaving around 9 a.m. and YES! I found Moe's meds, which had fallen into another bag I brought in.

I need to post some round to keep on track here....otherwise with ddogs underfoot and dh still home I'm not getting far.

-clear kitchen table, except for things that go into my backpack
-in bedroom, pack up CPAP machine
-breakfast, meds, dog meds

Great minds, Kathryn. I was thinking as I opened Shesorganized, "Fantastic Friday". What a lovely memoir to buy, Kathryn. I'm sure I'd like it as well!

Talked to dh again last night. Said he had two letters from his regular doctor's office. One was to tell him they needed to see him to update his medications. The other was that he was due for a physical (once a year now). But, I'm sure he had his last physical in September. He'll find out. Keep forgetting to tell him that I got a recall notice for our Chrysler 200 yesterday. Something to do with the 9-speed transmission & power train control modules -so guess I better make an appointment. Just hoping it's not next week. Said the appointment will take about an hour & a half. Guess it's a matter of putting in new software. So that's something to add to my today's to-do list.

DD isn't up yet -she has another training session at the local college today -had one last Friday as well. She hasn't gotten a full week of teaching in in well over a month. And starting today -it's Spring Break. Getting to go see db/dsil on Monday. Have to go that way for dd's dentist appointment anyway. Also should get to see dniece, her dh and dgnephew. They plan to come down for their spring break. An added plus. They only live about 20 miles from us up home, but it's seldom we get to see each other.

Taking the 8mm splicing machine up to my db for him to work on some old films from our childhood. We're hoping to get them turned into dvd's.

I'm happy to see some of us up and at 'em. I didn't get very much done from my list yesterday after all. Prepping for 2 classes really took more time than I had anticipated. I went in to work a little early - but then had to park in a farther parking garage b/c my standard one was full. . . Still, I had time to stop by Walgreens to buy candy for my students. If they can name all the students in the classroom, I give them a piece. I stayed at work until 6:30 pm getting things ready for the sub. Got home a little before 7 pm. Dh had started dinner! Anyhow, I was so tired yesterday evening, I didn't make much forward progress beyond emailing lesson plans to supervisor and sub, laundry, wiping down stove top, and charging batteries - phone and camera.

Of course, dh decided to get our tax info together last night, so I also had to stop and help him from time to time. I'm glad it is done, but last night wasn't really the best time to do it. . . He said it took less time than he had thought.

This morning, I'll do what I can to get ready for dd19's group of girls, but the house is not going to be perfect. I have 3 hours this morning before we leave.

Before we leave (ideally):

- fold and put away laundry (last load is in the dryer)
- pack clothes
- pack toiletries and meds
- pack lunch/snacks for the plane
- pack books
- bathrooms acceptable
- clean my van, including removing dog hair from the seats

- quickie dust of living room?

I stayed at work until 6:30 pm getting things ready for the sub. Got home a little before 7 pm.

I see dd doing that all too often, Helia. Makes for a very long day. And of course there is no pay for all the extra hours they put in. For instance their contract says work begins at 7:30 but they're "expected" to be there for bus duty, etc much before that. Those extra minutes every day certainly add up over the school year. But she doesn't really complain. Last night it was 6:30 by the time she got home after prepping for her sub for today.

I guess I'm ready to head out the door. DD forwarded me the bulletin for Sunday but I wasn't able to save it -only print it out. But at least I can get up to church and get a head start on it before the pastor arrives. Really hoping the secretary will be coming back this coming week (but almost imagine she'll wait until after Easter). I'd like to take next Friday off but not sure I'll be able to.

Yes, teachers work hard, Dee! I teach until 5:30 on T and Th., so I only stayed an hour afterward. I sure was exhausted, though. I'm really enjoying my job, for which I'm very grateful. It doesn't pay much, but I'm not doing it for the money.

- everything is packed - except for teeth and face items and a sandwich I'll make to take on the plane. Space looks good, so I'm happy.
- all laundry is folded and put away
- kitchen is clean and tidy
- bedroom is also tidy; not on my list but it helps me w/ packing since I pack in there.

Morning y'all..

Ahhhh, teachers hours... Under appreciated and underpaid by many. And it's only getting worse. Many teachers positions are NOT being filled by qualified teachers with employed teachers discouraging others not to join the profession. Here in my area there are 100 open positions for gen. Ed teachers and 55 for special Ed ones.

Here in my area teachers, myself included, haven't received a pay raise in over eightyears... Imagine working for another professional company and that happening... Between disrespectful parents and students, tons of extra work the eats into you nights and weekends would you stay??? It's really a shame because there are so many highly qualified and remarkable teachers that are leaving education just for these reasons.

I am off to dig some more and then will spend the afternoon set up for her husband's surprise retirement party.

Puppies are hungry and Sadie is looking at me with her sad-sack eyes telling me to hurry up and fix her breakfast so gotta go. Cy'all later....

Hello Dear Ladies,

Chilly and cloudy day here.

In to work early today.

DH brought me back a sausage and egg sandwich type thing for breakfast. Having some blueberries and coffee with it.

Dbrother has been taken care of, dishes washed. Off to shower and work soon.
