The good news ... I got some nice exercise, rode my bike about 2 miles, real bike not exercise bike.
The bad news ... Because it is the only transportation I have right now other than my own two feet. Today, my car CAUGHT ON FIRE!!! It was a small fire and burnt itself out quickly, but DANG!!! Friday, I posted how pleased I was that I had paid off my car's latest troubles on THURSDAY NIGHT!!!
There is some hope though. It may be the compressor for the AC. I had turned it on the first time this year, and thought I should get it recharged because the air was not very cold. A little while later, there was a horrible noise, so bad I pulled to a side road, then a burning smell at which I shut off the engine. Opened the hood and there was smoke. Removed cats from car. So not good. Was not about to turn the engine back on, so I had it hauled away. I called some animal org people to help get the animals. The car is going to be inspected tomorrow ($30 - not too bad). The towing was covered under my insurance. If it is the compressor, they can disconnect it and I can drive without AC until I can afford to fix it. However, when they started it without the AC there was still noise, which got significantly worse on turning it on. There may be other problems as well.
Normally Sunday has no animal org activity. Of course, this is the Sunday of the cat show (major fundraiser), and guess who is supposed to supply THE ENTIRE CAT COLLECTION!!! Yep. Me. In the entire org, there is only one other person with a vehicle large enough for five cat crates, so she is stuck picking me up. My original Sunday was: morning shift at the cat show, lunch, help with estate sale unpacking and pricing, pick up cats and get them home, errands, dog care. I may be stuck at the cat show the whole day. If I CAN pick up my car, I will get a ride from the same person to the car spa. If I can't, I will get a ride to a car rental place. BLEAH!
helia: Don't forget the Sedona airport restaurant has the best view and really good food (at least it did 5 years ago). Reservations are essential.
LadyMaverick: Medication allergies often start with skin rashes. I don't know if steroids can cause allergies or not. Call a doctor or pharmacist ASAP!
