Trying to slowly get ready to make a Wally run. Don't need much but do need eggs for deviled eggs for tomorrow. Yes, I volunteered to make those to take to dbil/dsil's for dinner tomorrow. She surprised us when she asked Thursday about us coming for dinner. She had stated she wasn't doing 'this' anymore. So we'll see. Going to use our new 'method' for peeling eggs. I'll let you know how long it takes to peel a dozen eggs.
Bed's made and I've taken meds and now for breakfast.
Did something to me knee when we were shopping Wednesday. It got better then I did it again later Thursday and just did it again as I finished dressing. I can barely hobble when this happens for a while anyway. I'm almost afraid to get on it.
Off for coffee and a slice of cranberry/walnut bread with cream cheese. Yum! P ublix has it once in a while and it's so good toasted.
Good morning! The sun is so bright shining in our easterly windows. Skies are clear, birds are singing, and it looks like it will be a gorgeous day! It is only 26* right now, though, but will warm up to the mid-50s.
I feel less grumpy after a good night's sleep. Funny how that happens!
I will have to make a quick run to the groc. store today after all - but I only need to get about 4 things. I think my yeast has gone bad, so I'm going to replace it. I'll try to make cinnamon rolls for our brunch tomorrow, using the bread maker to make the dough.
Other than that, today will be spent cleaning and cooking for small group meeting here tonight. I think it will be a full group - 13 adults and 7 kids, ages 1 - 10. And a baby in arms. Dd19 will be here to watch the kids as some of them requested her help with the egg hunt. Our small group does two Easter egg hunts. First, the adults hide eggs for the kids -- and then the kids hide eggs for the adults! The kids LOVE hiding eggs for us, and you'd be amazed at how competitive our adult small group members, most of them University faculty members, can be hunting for Easter eggs. LOL! There's nothing like an Easter egg hunt to bring out the child in each one of us.
I also need to do laundry. It's been over a week; the week was so busy I couldn't fit it in.
I might go for a jog today too. That would help me feel better - not that I feel bad, but jogging always helps me feel good physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.

I am up doing laundry this morning. Remote needs new batteries again sigh! I too do need to go to the store. We had rain in the night. I need to do chicken chores. S2s needs to happen first. Spinning meeting today not sure if I will go or not yet. Coffee is done. That is about it for now.
We need to flip the matress & I will need to get sheets throught the wash 2day as well.

Last night was seder w friends, very weird that one couple didn't show up, and then when texted they were at the temple seder. And they were supposed to have brought charoset - a mixture of chopped apples, walnuts, sweet red wine and cinnamon that one eats with matzah and with horseradish. So a couple of guys went to grocery for apples and we made it quickly. So we got a very late start, obviously. we had waited awhile before we called or texted them. Which meant a late ending.
I was awake for Moses around 2 a.m. and still felt overstuffed. This morning is better, but I may not want to eat much today.
I am craving a quiet day today, hoping that dh can relax without having to go, go, and go. There is a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt, we might walk down there for a few minutes.

I woke up with a lot on my mind. Lots I want to do today. I did get an OMM paper project done and emailed and sent off. Annoying thing that's been looking at me every time I go into the kitchen past the bar top where DH put it. Then I tackled a couple statements, 1 I knew was wrong and I didn't want to sit there and figure out...but I did and now it and another are in the mail. Phew.
Today I want to:
store run
fold laundry
finish a couple floors I missed yesterday
clean a bathroom
sweep front porch - didn't get that done yesterday either
then I want to spend some time sewing. I have a couple mending chores to do and the machine rolley bin is all pulled out from the other day I was hunting a needle for DH to dig out a splinter.
I need to get to the store. H is sleeping in. I pruned the necterine tree back so I could reach fruit from the ground. I wanted to wait till it was done blooming. I got the plum tree done last year. I transplanted a small tree. Watered the chickens.
End of another amazing day. Won't get my 10K steps in but did manage 7500 which is respectable considering how much of the day was spent in the car.
Today was about animals and geography.
I stood at the south west corner of Africa and looked north, seeing two oceans simultaneously, one on either side of the isthmus.
I saw penguins. Lots and lots of them. They were so cute!
I saw baboons. Lots and lots of them. They were so cute!
I saw dussies. Just half a dozen. Not cute but still interesting - they look like a ground hog but their closest genetic relative is the elephant.
The oceans were beautiful. Lots of sandy beaches, lots of beautiful waves.
We saw the Crystal Serenity sailing out to sea on her way to Uruguay.
We had lunch overlooking one ocean and it included smoked wart hog and ostrich kbobs.
We had dinner overlooking another ocean, having pizza at the same pizzeria we were at 3 years ago. It was still great food, the view amazing and dinner cost less than $15 including a coke and a milkshake.
All in all, an excellent day.
Tomorrow starts for us early. Up and at the curb at 6 a.m. for the Easter Sunrise Service. So, although it is only 7 p.m. we are packing up for tomorrow and I'll shower before bed.
Lots of business stuff happening today. I feel stressed. I usually have a quieter Saturday and look forward to it. Not today.
Went out for some groceries. Even with a list I forgot one thing. Made an extra stop at office supply to get something laminated. We're still dealing with fallout from DH getting his wallet stolen 3 months ago.
Eggs are on cooking, I'm going to dye 6 just for something Easter-y around here. We aren't going anywhere but church and aren't having anybody in. I do have a nice dinner planned.
Front porch swept. Floors inside swept. We seem to be dragging a lot of sand and leaves and "stuff" in every day.
3 blocks from home, in that mess of our traffic with all the barriers, there was a bad bad accident. People laying in the street, a crushed motorcycle, a damaged utility trailer, nobody directing traffic. I am very grateful I wasn't just a bit earlier.

I'm back from the groc. store. Finally. Traffic here is horrendous, almost completely stop-and-go (through 2 lights) on the main road between the groc. store and our street. It's all heading into town. Maybe there is a game or something??

- laundry gathered, 1 lol washed
- brunch with family
- living room is tidy
- dw unloaded; reloaded w/ bfast dishes, ran, unloaded for the 2nd time
- kitchen is tidy
- granite table is clear (major hot spot)
- 2 snail mail bills prepped and put in the mail (Thanks for the reminder, Harmony!!)
- gift from GG's family arrived; dgirls wanted to open it so we did. Personal gifts were opened today. Family gifts will be opened tomorrow when the family is together.
- chatted a little with dd19 who has now gone to the big inner city with dd16 to celebrate a special tutee's birthday. This tutee is a child at the inner city church where our hs youth group provides tutoring services weekly. We didn't feel good about dd19 going alone.
