Learning to cook beans from scratch soaking them now. I have seen this done but never actually did it myself. Hope to get them cooked up for crockpot chili later. I successfully did up some chick peas for humas.

Today is the community beautification aka spring cleaning they will plant flowers too. Miserable cold windy & wet weather for it today. Yesterday I drove by the community garden project. One gal in the knitting spinning groups is involved with that and a master gardener. 5 am envious but do not have the time for their meeting bc of kidcare maybe some day. They have a plant sale in the spring I think. I will try to get to that again.

The tomatoes in the dining room are getting a bit leggy a bit cold for planting them yet.

I want to go to home imp. Store to price some path bricking wider than most bricks in a diff color maybe called stone they were tumbled I think. I need to put this in my 90 goals note book.

This was my post from late last night... I'm re=posting it so y'all can kinda see why I've been AWOL so much and where my head has been lately. And I did NOT manage to do 15 minutes walk away the pounds... and my weight is up a pound this morning... and part of me just wants to go back to bed and ESCAPE as Twins said...
BUT... I will press on.

Today's PODA -- big things I REALLY need to do to make myself feel better about myself:
[x] color hair
[ ] vacuum
[/] change sheets (sheets are in the dryer now)
Also will need to
[x] go to CVS, AND grocery store AND Dollar General... and need to make special effort to
[x] exercise, since I've skipped two days. *

Editing to check off exercise. Just walked 2 miles outdoors! Woo hoo!

Very late ci: tonight! I do not know WHERE this week has gone. Told dmom today, I've just piddled it away and have nothing to show for it!
-- Monday we had dgs and went to that auction, but that was only from about 5-10 that night.
-- Tuesday night was nursing home singing.
-- Wednesday I did laundry, right? And we went to the court house to get dh's check from his aunt's estate. $45... I also spent 15 min in the zone late Wed night, and dusted master bath and bedroom.
-- Thursday we made trip to next town to pick up tax stuff, and then we ate supper w/ds, ddil, dgs, and dgs spent the night. I also took care of online insurance stuff for dh and myself, which involved much frustration bc they have not received my info from doctor's office/labwork... And doctor's office was unexpectedly closed, so I can't complete this till Monday!

Today, dgs and I
-- delivered UPS pkg to dropoff place for ds
-- went to post office
-- picked up lunch for dmom
-- took that to her and visited for about 1.5 hrs
Then I
-- took dgs home,
-- registered dh's new knee pain contraption,
-- paid a bill,
-- took a nap,
-- ate supper, and
-- finished reading the Jerry Lee Lewis book.

I also walked two days this week -- 15 min WAP Mon, 2 miles outdoors Wed. I guess I can manage another 15 min now.

Sigh. It looks like I've been somewhat busy but I have not done the WHB -- sheesh, might as well call it the MONTHLY house blessing -- so that depresses me and makes me feel lazy and useless.

Having my lunch now. I'm well aware that it is 4 p.m.

Here's my account of the hockey game.
This is unbelievable.

I'm sitting in an arena watching a hockey game on the jumbletron with about 11,000 other people.

The noise when the Sens scored early in the game was overwhelming. (Our team needs a tie or win to progress to the playoffs.)

The organizers were expecting about 5000 or less so although they said there would be limited concessions, they aren't kidding. It is lunch time and already some of the few open places have started to run out of food. I'm having beer nuts since my second choice (muffin) sold out when I was next to be served. My first choice had such a huge line-up I decided to wait until later and make do with a muffin and tea (now beer nuts and water we brought in from the car.)

Sparticat, the mascot just showed up. I'm wondering if he was scheduled to be here or got called in.

<later>

I'm being deafened again. The score was tied and now we are winning again.

I just got back from a walk around. The food lineups are longer. There is only 45 – 60 minutes left before we'll be in the lineup to leave this place. There is a family in our row that dh said joined us while I was walking around. They came, got in the lineup, and were there for the first period, first intermission and part of the second period. So there is no use my lining up for food. All that I can get quickly is beer and cotton candy. There are no drink machines so I'm glad I brought water from the car.

<later>

Not sure what the point is of chanting Go Sens Go and the noise-meter when the Sens are playing 1000km away. On the other hand, given how loud it is here, maybe the Sens can hear us!

<later>

Well, without any teams on the ice below us, there's no need to stop doing The Wave. We did it for the whole of the song WipeOut and then continued on. The announcer was counting and it seems to have died down in the 27th pass because there was an exciting play on the screen.

<later>

The energy at the end was overwhelming. The final score was 3 – 1 and because of a penalty, the Sens spent the last few minutes just running down the clock. They played very well and Ken is just super happy. (I spent most of the time with my head buried in my laptop.)
The main reason we went to watch the game there was we don't have cable the the hockey game wasn't being broadcast over the air. So it was either watch highlights online, go to a sports bar, or do this. This was free (except for $2.75 for the beer nuts!)

Dh got the yard mowed and it looks great. I've done our tax return - printed a copy for dh's "review" and will get it electronically filed later.

Good to get that off my plate.

After eating 'lunch' I napped.

Did nothing productive today (I still haven't finished the project I was working on at the hockey game, it is only 2/3 done) and we are starting dinner now. Leftovers, nothing exciting.

I've S2Slippers and put my hair up for the night. Had to do a second load of dishes today - unusual but both HRH and dd were cooking. Both trash and recyclables to go to the cans. Made the mail. HRH grocery shopped, which was a help. Dsecondbil visited. Began reading my FastExercise book this evening. I think I feel better.

Possibly will leave church tomorrow and just keep driving to see ds' family. Already accepting it may be a long day of driving for very little time with them. Also ready to accept it might not work out. I would carry presents but they are in a limited space.
