Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Slept in till 6:45 today.
Posting to ci from lib while we wait on tax prep stuff. Taxes are paid.
Net was practically non-existant today at our house.
I am fine. I need to return 2 pr. jeans I got last week are too big. I will look at roses while I am there. (No roses in yet.)
I am marveling that I got the lawns mowed yesterday after h got the mower going.
Waving to all.
Later on this morning we will marvel if we can get back to some normalcy.
Dump trash is up.
It is supposed to get up to 72* here today and 80% chance of rain tonite.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Truly a Marvelous Monday! I have a long day with nothing on the calendar except getting dMacs to PT at 4 p.m. His PT gal was out of town on Saturday. Thankfully, was not a super busy weekend so today I'm deciding whether to work on genealogy or stamping or nothing. Dh out of town tonight also.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Check in -
3rd load of laundry in
2nd drip drying
1st folded and put away
Exercised - Basic
brunch of Dr Hyman's whole food shake recipe along with a McHale's Navy episode
dishes and counter back to rights and vitamix cleaned
HRH had taken the recyclables that were in my way when he left. So now I can mop.
Continuing to make errand list - printer is complaining of lack of magenta, so office supply. And at copy shop I'd like to somehow create a bunch of new church quarter-fold "stationary" (8.5x11 folded twice) from previous one by a late member who painted it for us. Pretty image of church she gave me and others. Problem I see is yellowing, so I may need advice. Perhaps at copy shop I'll also make up a bunch of my full-page healthy habits forms.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Good Morning! My Monday Marvel....I'm back!
We've had a busy week with dfam#3 that now seems to have flown by too fast.
They arrived mid Saturday am and we visited for a while before ds & ddil took a few hour nap. Dgd17 wanted to shop for a prom dress so we all set out on a trip to the mall, then met ddil's ddad & his new girlfriend for supper. Easter Sunday we went to Sunrise service and stopped at a B ob E vans for breakfast, then home again to get dinner ready for 16 of us ( all three dsons and their dfamilies, plus dh & I ). Talk about a Full House...but we all had a good time. Dson said he had wanted to do a big project while here, so Monday morning he decided it would be removing the carpet and padding in the living room, dining room and bedroom hallway. We have a nice terrazzo floor now! It took all day and well into the evening to get it done, with everyone helping. There are some stains that had been there when carpet was installed 29 years ago; I will have to research to find something that will remove those stains. The house seems brighter and cooler now.
Tuesday morning we started out for Busch Gardens but decided that it looked like rain coming so went back across the bay and headed for Tarpon Springs. Dgd-K17 who lives nearby joined us. We had a nice day there, looking in all the shops and had a nice lunch at our favorite Greek restaurant, Hellas. Ddil had looked forward to one of the boat trips that went out to one of the islands with the lighthouse, but all the boats were already booked and had not enough openings left for all of us. Wednesday was our Busch Gardens day - we were there just after opening to 7 pm closing and were all so tired when we got home. Dh and I do not ride the roller coasters anymore, but dfam does and rode them all, even the water rides! I got my exercise walking around! Thursday dh & I stayed home while dfam went to the beach at Ft. DeSoto. I needed a quiet day to rest some and also got some laundry done, desk work and general pick up done. Tues morning we had discovered the kitchen sink was not draining, so dh tried plunging and that didn't work so we used the laundry sink for dishes. Dfam all came home with lots of sunburn which needed pain meds and aloe gel to feel better!
Friday was another shopping day for dgd-H17 and her dmom for clothes for Sat. am. Ds and dgs-C13 stayed home. Dgs set up the train again while ds-T took the kitchen sink pipes apart and after a couple of hours running a snake managed to unclog the sink. It works better now than ever! He also changed the innards of the commode in the master bath so it flushes with the handle again instead of a bucket of water!
So, then, in the afternoon dfam met up with ddil's ddad and gf for a game of putt-putt golf and he cooked dinner for them. Dh and I stayed home again.
Saturday at 8 am dgd-H17 had a photo shoot for her senior pictures; ddil-Y arranged the meeting with a good friend/fellow teacher who has her own photography business at their local marina. The pictures turned out wonderful ( https://www.facebook.com/judy.poth ) if you would like to see them. You can follow the link to the photographer website at sh utterfly to see the full 64 pics. In the meantime, ddil-A ddad came to the house to help ds-T finish installing the carpet and tile strips and grind off the remaining cement nails around the floor. We took them all out for supper at our favorite seafood place S am's Deli.
After we came home it was time for dfam to pack up the car (
); they were on the road home by 9:15 pm. Sunday morning I got a text shortly after noon that they had arrived in their neighborhood. It was good to hear they arrived home safely. Dh and I are so very grateful for all they have done for us....we would have been happy just to spend the time visiting and not have them working so hard!
Sunday dh and I spent the day resting; dfam#2 came over for supper and brought Chinese food. It was good and I sent leftovers home with them for dgd-K20 who was at work. Today I have started a lol, sheets and towels, and will have another the change the four beds and also another of my clothes. Kitchen is cleaned up as is main bathroom again. I will try to get some desk work done - if not this afternoon then tomorrow. Dh had a trip to the vampire office for a blood test ordered by urologist; he is now outside sweeping the driveway.
I want to cuop also......

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
I got the bed done. I think dh was disappointed, again, when he came into the bedroom expecting me to strip and change the sheets and I still had a nightie on! Turns out we never put on the mid-weight mattress pad (we gave the featherbed to ds) and so I just swapped the regular pad for a clean one. Have managed to do only one load of laundry, wash the boot rack, vacuum the carpets (just 2 small ones) and trim and deadhead my cut flowers (3/4 are still going strong after 5 days, pretty good for $2 a dozen flowers.)
Dd came and printed off t-shirt transfers for her trip to NYC. I sold her my US cash with the agreement that I'd buy any unused at the same exchange rate. They probably need very little. We discussed her taking my US credit card (which has a huge balance) but it isn't a chip & pin card and she can't do my signature anymore (she tried and while she left out an i she still dotted where the i in her name is - our two names are almost the same but I don't have an i or l and she is missing an h and r.) Her brother can still forge my signature well but that won't work for a credit card transaction. And I don't think he can forge his dad's. They both could do my signature for school notes!
I walked her back to the bus to get some fresh air. It is too nice a day to pass up on a walk. The vacuum is still out so I guess I'll vacuum next.
I'm corresponding with MF in order to see him tomorrow afternoon (he suggested dinner but I have presbytery.) It would be good to see him but I can wait a week if this Tuesday doesn't work out. I just realized I have a hair cut tomorrow at 1. So that probably is one wrinkle too many to resolve for this week.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Wow, Sunny, that was a busy week you had. I'm so happy to read of all the work that got done for you. I think getting the carpet out is such a good idea. Carpet is hard to keep clean, especially with pets. There are people who will come out with equipment and fill in any holes (from carpet tacks) and repolish and seal terrazo, but I have no idea how expensive they are...probably a bunch since there isn't much of that going on any more. I'd have terrazo in a heartbeat if we could have, it's wonderful stuff, no grout joints!
Got all my errands done, 1 county office, 2 banks, quick stop at library. Stopped at jobsite. DH working all by himself this afternoon as one guy had a meeting, other was a no-show. I managed to get some exercise in, had a little quiet time (trying something different) and had lunch, 1 phone call too. I'm really sleepy now.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
I got distracted. Sigh....
Vacuumed all the apartment but the office. Saw my bike and got distracted.
Wanted to move my bike to the living room so moved furniture around but didn't finish that task.
Got distracted by the balcony and started to arrange that furniture (it was all piled up and tied down for the winter.) Then dh had to come help me. He can look down (I still don't look more than few inches in front of me) and commented on our downstairs neighbours balconies. I looked. They are gorgeous. They've put down wood decking and filled the gap with river stones. Then put out lovely furniture. They have a few potted plants already (ones that can take cold) and have planters ready for the rest.
I came inside to price the decking (I think it might be $1K for both balconies not including the stones!) and then got distracted with looking for cheaper alternatives (before I saw their balcony I was thinking of putting down a jute carpet.)
So, in summary:
It is 4:20 p.m.
* The vacuum is still out in the office, not yet used.
* The living room needs to have things put into new spots - there are boxes that were tucked in a corner, currently out.
* The balcony furniture is still not put out.
Oh, and MF and I haven't yet figured out a plan for tomorrow. I've pointed out there will be other weeks, we'll see if he gives up on tomorrow or not.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
I am marveling at how sick one can feel when one has the stomach virus. Not to give TMI, but this morning I needed the toilet for two different reasons, at the same time! I've been in bed all day. This probably started Sat. Night, but didn't really put me in bed till last night.
I am also marveling at how sweet dh sounds, reading Sesame Street books to dgs.
Ds and ddil have gone to the auction with two vehicles. Maybe we'll do better tonight.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Lucylee: that's the way I was (and usually am.) Dh never gets sick that way, it is one or the other.
Living room and balconies are put together. Our neighbour has invited us down tonight to see it in person. He said that another neighbour has already seen them and bought the supplies to do his own. I'll have to dress up.
We walked to the store for chips to have with burgers for dinner tonight (so we can eat on the balcony.) I forgot we had burgers at McD last night although there are some who would argue those aren't burgers.

Re: MONDAY MARVELS
Waving from Tuesday. Sunny. Autumn change is finally here.
I'm trying again for a fresh start. Better attitude. Actually do some more.
Tmeds taken, dog out and in, breakfast eaten.
Yoga today. I haven't been for probably a month. Trying for today. I'll be as a newbie. I'm so out of condition.
New attitude says computer off, quickly get bathed and dressed, then promptly otd to find a spot in the back row early.

Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
