Good luck with the cable guy, Nancy! Sorry you are having issues.

Dinner is done and we visited our neighbours to stand on their balconies. Their apartment is directly below us and same square footage but different in many areas. The building is almost 50 years old and over those 50 years the units have been upgraded by their tenants (most often at the tenants cost) and so are quite different. These people rented the 21st floor because the brother had the 24th floor unit and they liked it so much they wanted to move into the same unit. But even those two units are different.

The dining room is a shade smaller and has a different built-in than mine had. There is a hall that goes from the foyer to the kitchen, but no door between the office and the kitchen (that wouldn't work for us since dh does so much of the cooking.)

The hall from the foyer to kitchen makes their laundry room much smaller (I have my freezer in mine, they have no room.) On the other hand, since they are missing the door to the office, their kitchen is much, much, nicer. 3' more counter space and another 4' is more usable because there are no cupboards above. Yet, they also have more cupboard space all through the kitchen, a larger fridge and nicer stove. And their counter tops are nice and they have a back splash. Just today I was thinking I wanted a back splash.

This couple have way less furniture than we do so the rooms felt larger. Dh says he likes ours better but the only advantage I see is that the sound echos in their place.

They get their blind in the next week so we'll go back and see what they came up with. The price was way lower than where we got our blinds so I've already checked out the website. The downside is they have to install them themselves, but that isn't too big a deal.

The mess in my apartment is really bothering me now after seeing how uncluttered there's is.

First things first, clean up the dinner dishes. Then I'll work on the ironing because that's making the bedroom look messy.

Catching a second wind since my tea had a little bit of caffeine in it. . .

I did not exercise today. Nor did I go to the groc. store. I did go to TJ and buy fixings for pasta for tonight. I also went to the pet store to buy drops for Taffy the g. pig's water since she no longer eats her vitamin C tabs. . . .I think actually she never did - but I didn't know this until Starby, the other g.pig, died, and I discovered the tabs were no longer getting eaten. Hmmm.........

Class this afternoon was fine. We're moving at a good clip.

If I'm not going to the groc. store tonight, I need to get some work done.

ToDo:
- grade quizzes
- post weekly grades for last week
- edit sentences to prep for paragraph writing tomorrow. . .

Back home from work at the library. We stayed late for a patron who was having issues with one of the computers not wanting to send the documents he'd spent some time creating, so that kept us about 10 minutes over.

Then after I clocked out from the paid job and assured my co-worker that it was ok for her to leave me there alone (I'm used to being in the building by myself), I stayed to take a quick look in storage for old financial records for the volunteer group. I found part of what I need.

I need a snack and more water before I start looking at numbers again.

At about 7:55pm our church moderator called me to let me know that there was not going to be a church council meeting after all tonight. For some reason the Deacons didn't meet and there weren't enough Trustees who planned to stay -so I got the night off. We never miss a month -and we missed February because there was too much snow. Then we don't meet in July -this will definitely be the year with the least meetings!

It was okay as we have thunder storms all around. Right now it's rumbling again and there are storms very close but may still miss us. Not going to leave the computer on very long and I'll unplug it for the night.

Have a women's meeting for church in the morning. Then we're going on a tour of the new Salvation Army village for women and children. It looks great from the road. After that we're going to an Italian place (great spaghetti) nearby for lunch. I'll get the lunch portion of spaghetti and still have more than 1/2 to take home. Their portions are huge.

Was having big time printer issues and had to print out forms. Finally fiddled enough to get that done and the forms mailed off to our tax man. Sent them priority so he would have them by Wednesday -they told me they would be delivered by then.

Guess I'll get ready to bed. Think I'll watch a Doris Day show on my kindle before I outen the lights. Night all.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Sunny, your family week sounds wonderful. Lots of fun time, and also great help with plumbing and flooring projects.
