"Mr. Crankypants" :| Ah, yes. A version of that guy comes through here every once in a while, too.
He certainly does get around, doesn't he? See him here too, more often than I'd like. :o

Oh, Harmony, I'm so sorry that Mr. Clueless is hanging around your house. They are just oblivious, aren't they?

Oy, here I've cancelled appointment for dishwasher repair since it was under warranty (and lost my place in line), then jumped through all the warranty hoops to have them tell me I could use the previously scheduled people and submit an invoice for reimbursement. So I'm waiting on a call back to get back on the schedule. (Kudos to dh who remembered that we had a 5 year warranty, I didn't.)

So far I don't even have "lift off" for my day. Also have been fretting over a young second cuz, once removed, who has been "researching" on Ancestry and has posted on Facebook several questionable finds for people that happen to share the same, widely used, first name (William) and surname. She has us connected to the DAR, and an ancestor who was age 66 buried at the national cemetery here as a Civil war casualty (note that he never stepped foot into this county, either.)

Early on I had to stick around here for the afternoon for the dishwasher repair guy, so I can ditch that plan now and get ready and go to grocery.

That said,
-clear kitchen counters, dip water out of bottom of dishwasher
-quick s2s
-start a lol
-make the bed
-grocery list, other errands needed today?

Good morning, everyone! I am cruising right along here at payroll.

Last night was Girls' Night Out with DD13 and we ate at a different Chinese restaurant (yeah!), which is a lot more expensive (boo!). I got a report on the dinner she was dreading with my clueless friend with the vicious roosters and hens. Apparently, DD's OTHER family (the one headed by the two adulterers that my friend claims not to like or approve of, but invites to dinner anyway), gets to eat WITHOUT chickens. They were all put away for their dinner. Why do the rest of us have to be attacked over and over again? Not just me, it is a regular occurrence at her house. She keeps a broom handy to fight the beasts off with, she KNOWS they attack. I think I am going to tell her next time she expects me to be around them that if I am ever attacked again, if I ever see anyone else attacked again, I am calling animal control. Hate hate HATE those chickens!!!

We went to a bookstore, where we looked at manga, which we both like. After I dropped her off, I had good intentions to do church webwork. Did I do it or get sidetracked by Scrabble? Bet you can guess which one. I need to find out FlyLady's zone and get cracking too, and LOTS of home repair and yard work to do. However, tonight will be cleanup at the estate sale fundraiser.

My query is done, see you later.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Cloudy here!

Welcome Sweet Caroline. I've got that song playing in my head now.

On Monday DH, Dson-C and I went to Dallas TX to visit with DH's sister and husband. It rained the whole time we were on the road there, but that made it so the pollen count was just about non-existant so that was ok by me. Had a wonderful visit. Her son was there too and I was thinking he was going to be a little snobbish to us as DH is a foster brother to his mom, but he was very friendly and shared some pleasant memories of DH giving him a ride on his motorcycle when he was young. And he was very friendly to us too.

Dsister-inlaw and husband are selling their house and everything in it and going to assisted living in Michigan at a place near their son. They have to stay in an extended stay hotel until the place is finished. I felt bad for them, they had a beautiful home and can't imagine living in a hotel room for months waiting for the place to be completed. But with their health declining they wanted to be close to family.

They gave us some antiques which had been owned by the parents and DH is going to take pictures of them to see what his sisters in NY want so we can send them out to them.

When we got back on the road, Dson-C wanted to stop at Cabella's as we don't have one of those in OK but we have Bass-Pro. Anyway got to look at all the hunting, fishing, camping gear, guns and knives that I want to see for awhile. We ate at the little diner that was inside the store. The special was Boar Brats and Fries :!: but since we were so far from home I didn't want to chance eating such unusual food so we all opted for pulled pork sandwiches and chip.

It was dark as we drove home and we cheered when we got to the Oklahoma sign. Guess big city traffic is not for us.

Seems like it is taking me awhile to recover from the drive, it is 4 hours each way so that a lot of sitting and stiffness.

Work day today.

Visitor has left. I'm feeling totally awful so will decline dh's offer of a walk. I think I can skip banking.

Made a DPC.

On the prep house for visitor front, here's the final score:

Finished Ironing - getting that done will get the bedroom almost in order
Finished Stash and dash
Vacuum kitchen and office
Slip shod sweep other floors
Mop floors
Finished Weekly kitchen clean (for the first time in 7 weeks)
Bathroom weekly clean (ditto.)
Finished Make something to serve
Finished Lunch
Finished S2s and eat breakfast (half done.)

I'm overwhelmed here and my cough isn't helping matters any. I'm so very tired right now, I just want to go to bed but know that I will still be coughing.

Not sure about dinner. I might suggest pizza just to have something easy. I'd love to cook something nice but I'm so tired and my easiest, 'nice' dinner would be chicken which I had last night.

I can't find info on baby Caroline. . . :?: I looked in MO too. She sounds familiar - she's not Harriet's dgbaby, is she?

I got home from work a little less than an hour ago. I have eaten too much for a snack. Not happy about that - I came home very tired and very hungry. Then, dh called at 4:41 telling me that he'd emailed me our tax form for state taxes, and I needed to print it out and write a check for it. He thinks we can drop it at the post office that is open until 7 pm - except I just checked and their web site says their last collection is at 5 pm. I would have liked a little more heads up - though, he wasn't even sure I was at home when he called me, so he wasn't expecting me to do it immediately. Hmm.... I wonder if this will be considered late? I'm not inclined to panic, though. If it is late, we'll deal with the consequences. We owe the state a little but we are getting something back from the feds.

So, I'm going to prep that check for the mail and then muster up the mojo to go for a jog. I'm so tired, though. . . . I actually want to take a nap instead. I'm not sure why I'm so tired.

I understand a dh referred to as "crankypants" or as a "policeman." I've experienced both! :)

It is a gorgeous day! Sunny with clear blue skies, in the 60s, I think. It is a little windy.

Hi again! I am still plugging away at my report at payroll. I wish I could get the cube model in Visual Studio to import from excel. My life would be so much easier. I just got a call that I will not be needed at the estate sale cleanup as everything is already done. Guess that means I should do something useful at home. Think I will look up the FlyLady zone now.

ETA: It's bathroom + one extra room, in case you are wondering. For me that means guest bath (pretty clean as it is seldom used) and one or more of DD's room (reasonable), sewing room (clutter city), and hallway (reasonable).

helia, look in J & C.

Well, a busy day. I got all that popcorn made and had whole counterful of big bowls washed and drying to put away. Also got 2 nice big meatloaves baked and one in the freezer. I use 2/3 ground turkey and 1/3 lean beef. This one turned out really good.

Got my exercise, my tidying up, and my QT done. Just sorta moving from one thing to the next today.

Drove to jobsite, took 2 guys to HD where we all loaded up big huge boards, then I took them home. I hate Wednesdays. DH must get home to get cleaned up for Youth group and I get the chore of taking the helpers home.

I wish it would rain. It is so very dry around here. Missing LadyM.

Nancy, I always have to get up and go after DH to put out his lights. He never remembers. sigh...

We had pizza for dinner.

Dh picked it up for me since I wasn't well enough to even ride with him.

I was going rest but had laundry to deal with. Then it turned out neither washer nor dryer was done so I ended up dealing with it after dinner.

Dh is at choir practice. I'm watching the hockey game. We are winning at this point but it was an own-goal so really doesn't say much.

I have mending set out to do while I'm keeping an eye on the game. The first period is almost over so I'll reclaim the kitchen once the period ends.

CI'ing in to say all is well here.

My day started before 7am with the contractors arriving. Bathroom construction is going well. DD came and picked DGD3 up as I was ready to leave at 7:50am. I am volunteering this week at LO school giving State test (proctor). After school I took LO to get hair cut, then to Karate class, then went to DMom's for a quick visit.

My days are full but blessed.

And it starts again in the morning....except tomorrow is even more busy.

Someday it will slow down. I keep going because I promised myself that it won't be this way forever.
