SYNCHRONIZING SATURDAY

Hello, villagers ~
I was away all day at a sewing class. I needed to be on site at 7:30 to help finish setting up the rooms and then check in the attendees as they arrived. Class started at 9 and went until 3:30, with a break for lunch and shopping, and then more time for people to shop at the end. Then I had to stay to help clean up and put everything away.

I made 2 brief stops on the way home, and then when I got here DH wanted to go out for pizza right away because he was staaaaarving. Of course, the refrigerator and freezer are full of food that he only had to heat up, but he got involved in something and just snacked all day.

So anyway, now we're back home and my plan for this evening is to watch tv. That's it. Well, I might look over the class materials and my notes again ...

Not sure what's coming up tomorrow. I might need more time to recover from today, depending on whether or not I am able to sleep well tonight.

I feel like today has been a failure.

My knees still hurt.

Dh towards the end of lunch hour announced he wasn't making any progress and he'd practice his music and then we'd leave for the bagel shop. Thirty-five minutes later, I asked him if he was ready and he said he was waiting on me. Really?! He was still playing his music, so I assumed I was waiting for him.

Since prepping his bike for the first ride of the year was going to take over 30 minutes and then we had to get to the shop, I said I couldn't wait to eat any longer and made myself a hot dog and popcorn. Then I had a nap. Which he interrupted to tell me that when I wanted to go for a bike ride, I should give him 15 minutes notice and he'd prep his bike.

I eventually got up and gave him the notice. It did take the 30 minutes I predicted but we eventually got off but had to bike to the local bike stores looking for a part for his fender. We had luck at the second shop but I couldn't price paniers because they didn't have prices on them. Sigh....

We then biked along the water for a bit. Total ride was about 7 miles. I heated up leftover pizza for dinner and we watched tv. I've been icing my knees ever since. No idea how they'll be in the morning. They were so bad today I have only walked 2000 steps. I picked up another 3500 for the bike ride. But no-where near my 10K I was averaging before I left on the trip. That's another reason I shouldn't travel - I actually went backwards on my ability to walk due to the long plane rides.

Anyway, considering going to bed now. I'm in a foul mood and haven't accomplished much (paid a bill and reconciled one easy account but no progress on the taxes.)

I don't know how synchronized I was today...but did get a few things done. I slept in because I was so tired from busy busy week and all the extreme cleaning yesterday. Then I spent a couple hours watching a couple church services on tv.

I ran the vacuum on the carpets: I have 3 carpets, 2 are pretty large and one is smaller but must drag out the vacuum for them. I can use the little cordless sweeper on them but it doesn't get down deep in the pile.

Exercised, put another almost minute on the eliptical, and my left knee was a bit sore when I got off. I need to take upping the minutes on this thing very slow. Kathryn, hope your knees feel better tomorrow. I also feel mine when we bike. We typically do about 20 minutes. Last year biking was easier for both of us. We're trying to get our stamina back.

Hugs for (Sunny) for mishaps of the past week. I do hope your DH does not take any more spills. Now here's a suggestion: how about working out with little weights to make your arms stronger to be able to lift better... well I don't know if that would even work for me... thank goodness you have someone nearby to come help. I don't know what we'd do.. and your poor car, my it was a bad week.

Helped DH shake out and straighten and fold up a big huge tarp from his truck...fun out in the 95°.

Went to the grocery with my list and got nice big load of goodies. Now that it's so hot I was craving fruit and salads and actually felt dehydrated so got juice too. DH wanted the ribs from the freezer and I didn't want to get started on something like that....so he did...somewhat.... and I ended up helping and cleaning up... yeah kp duty never fails around here.

Dee, does this mean you guys won't be moving?

I don't think we'll be moving, Harmony, at least for the forseeable future. Dsonil has thought a little about watching for opportunities within the company in other areas -but who knows? Once he gets established, dd does want to do some things to the house -like new floors! She'd also like to redo the kitchen counters.

Talked to dh for a while tonight. Still adamant he doesn't want me to come home. He'll be staying the night next Friday with DS-A and family. Says he's going back to the RV on Saturday. We'll see how he does. I need to call on Monday and change his pulmonologist appointment. He's supposed to go the Monday after his surgery but it should be easy to change.

DD and I went to watch the airshow this afternoon. Sat on a grassy section at the far end of the Lakeside Villages (mall).

Watched dgs's15 robotics team -they're in competition at FIRST in St. Louis this weekend. They had made it to semi-finals by this afternoon. Not sure how they did later as we were gone. He sure hated the long bus trip out there though and now they have to do it in reverse. Think they won the state competition earlier this year. This is so 'up his alley'. He's wanting to go to NC to an engineering school when he graduates.

I completely missed the connection that this could mean no move for Dee's dd after all. Thanks Harmony! You are quickly on the uptake than me today.

Dee, I'm assuming you mean the university near me, where dd35 attended and dd16 is considering. Dd16 says to tell you that for many engineering disciplines, that university choice would be a great one, in her opinion. And I know dd35 recommends it for sure. She says her best college experience was there from a social standpoint as well, for long friendships. Of course with 2 more years in high school, you never know what a student might decide or change. Rochester Tech is also a great school.

Got a couple chive plants & a hollyhock and one other that is new for me at the plant sale, got a couple of dianthis plants aka pinks hoping I do not kill these off.

Store run done had a yummy steak sandwich on a regular bun at arbys w h for lunch date.

Cleaned some on the kitchen counters.
Got the limb sawed off the tree by the coop.
Did 10 ki. On the ex. Bike this morning.
