Good morning all! I picked up my new (to me) vehicle last night and turned in my old one. Yes, I feel bad about 'abandoning' my faithful car. I have to keep reminding myself it is an inanimate object, it is not the same as taking a pet to the pound when it gets old and hard to care for. I took the new car to get cat litter and groceries. It has built in ice chests in the floorboards and I am glad to have them. I had to make runs to two grocery stores and KFC, so they were quite useful. Out of the three times I have driven the car, twice I have used the ice chests. They will also be useful camping this weekend. Most of what I did last night was gather camping stuff together and put it in the staging area (DD13's room). Tonight, I will start putting it in the car. Also tonight, my brother is passing through town on a business trip. DD and I are going to get together with him, but don't know yet when or where. I drove to work today so I would not be dependent on bus and train schedules.

Sometime today I need to: order checks, transfer my XM subscription to the new car radio, change hotel reservations, and email the x about the changes.

Tonight I must: get DD's youth group activity vote and email it to the youth group leader, crisis clean, and if time finish the document scans and mail them to my parents.

All this talk about honeysuckle, wish I had some. You did know you can drink the nectar right? Tastes a bit like Muscato wine.

Yesterday, when I talked to my friend in Denver, he called himself "the marrying kind". He doesn't like to live alone and wants someone he can talk to about his day. I really appreciate everyone here, because that is exactly what I am doing. However, I don't have to deal with the complications of finding, marrying, and living with someone.

Not cuop yet. Can you believe this? Dh has been released. We have had breakfast at IHOP. We are staying 1 more night because it's non refundable and it seems the smart thing to do. Dh does have his drainage tube and Dd will take it out when it quits draining. He will need to make an appt for next Thursday for a recheck and to remove his stitches. He told me he would just come and make a 2 day trip of it.

I can hardly believe this. I do know it is due to all the prayers.

It is raining here so just as well not travel.

Great to hear, Lilac! Travel safe. Let us know how the week goes.

DH returns to his orthopedist Monday to get his stitches out & see how he's progressing. He sounds good -albeit without me.

Dee: nothing to miss on our anniversary. The lunch out was with dd and the dinner was with ds and his gf. So we spent the day focused on the kids, not each other.

That day always fall during year-end prep for me, plus other stresses so I just give up and focus on having good times with dh other times. We had tried combining our trip up the valley to MF's church with a weekend away but there were no available places to stay up there worthy of an anniversary.

Still struggling with year-end. That will be my status update for ages. Don't even want to think about the unwritten sermon at this point...

That is amazing, Lilac!
Good to hear of Mr. Dee recuperating too.
Elizabeth, I just about laughed out loud when I read your comment about this web site. I don't know why; it just kind of hit my funny bone. I'd never thought about us in that way.
Hello others!!

Well, the moms group morning was a success. I think dpastor's wife feels our love and appreciation. My sharing about her was well-received. I had the women laughing outloud a couple times. As deep and intense as dpastor's wife can be, she also loves to laugh. I got up early to finish it, so I'll be tired tonight. (I won't feel it until after work.)

I've had some lunch and ordered flowers for dmom.

Next:
- prep for class this afternoon
- perhaps work on the class syllabus
- clear kitchen counters
- leave at 2 pm to walk to work

Dinner tonight is with another pastor + wife and another elder + wife at a Middle Eastern restaurant in a suburb of the big city, about 40? minutes away. Reservations are at 7 pm. I hope to catch an early enough bus home so that we can leave by 6:15 - assuming dh can get home by then.

Happy Belated Anniversary Kathryn and Ken!!

When I traded in a car, I used to pretend that car's "personality" could be switched into the newer body, displacing whatever "personality" the new car had. Then I could keep the former name too.

Did up the lunch dishes and a few dishes I'd removed from the fridge -if I'd only remember to check the fridge out nearly every day! Folded and put away my last load of laundry. Then I brought in a (disgusting) smaller cooler from the screened porch. I think, after looking at it for the 10 minutes it took me to get it clean in the laundry tub, that it may well be ours. I won't make the mistake of leaving one on the porch this fall when we come back. I had a hard time maneuvering it in the laundry tub so I could clean the inside & dump it out -and clean the bottom & the wheels. Now it's drying in there. I'll put it in the office for now to pack my items that need to be cool for my trip north.

I've managed to think out a pretty good list of projects to do in these 3 rooms while dsonil is sleeping. I find myself wanting to do some of them right now. At least (hopefully) these rooms should be in really good shape when I leave them in 4 weeks. (Can you tell I'm getting anxious to get home?)

Tonight dd and I go out for Trivia night. I enjoy it, but hate the fact that it's Thursday night -when I have to be at work in the morning. Have some projects to do for the pastor now before I leave. And we just this week got a new copier so hope I quickly learn the ropes on that. I need to do an updated name/address/phone booklet. There's been lots of changes since the last one and we don't expect the regular secretary back until probably next spring, if then. Have a feeling this job may be waiting for me when I return in November. It's okay, gets me up and moving and OUT.
