Tuesday BITB for Summer
Good morning, villagers ~
I think this is probably a good day for me to get Back In The Box (BITB) -- to pull out my real 3x5 box to work from the physical cards, rather than relying on habits & routines in my head.
This week's schedule will be super busy again, and in fact every week will be busy all summer. I need to do something to make the chores easier. The easiest thing for me to do is to update my 3x5 box for current conditions, and then use the system every day.
How will you make your summer chores easier?

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
Good Morning Bookie!
(((Dee & family)))) are in my thoughts and prayers today.
We are going to start summer schedule today.......however, I haven't put it together yet. Hard to start something that isn't created. I have several things that I want to put focus on this summer, but I haven't assigned them a time slot. I want LO & DGD3 involvement in this scheduling process so it will be *owned* by them. Those little ones came be relentless in reminding me that it is time for us to do something.
I've put trash out this morning and noticed that no one else had their out. Hum.....it is Tuesday? Yup. Maybe the foggy morning is hiding the trash cans.
DD is going to come get DGD3 today. DGD3 will return on Thursday AM. DD has been talking (*hinting*) that DGD3 needs a bed at her apartment. DD has a bed but DGD3 doesn't. DD tells me over and over that DGD3 doesn't have a place to sleep. I am ignoring DD. I am not mad, but have learned my lesson well. Giving DD anything is as good as throwing it in the trash. DD asked yesterday if she could borrow a new fold-out cot I recently bought. DD wants to use it for DGD3 to sleep on for a couple nights and said she would return the cot to us on Thursday. I did agree to that, but I am going to stand strong the cot comes back here on Thursday.
B: Cinnamon Toast & sausage patty
L: Tilapia Parmesan, salad
D: Spaghetti & meat sauce

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
I'm up and at it. Sleep quality was slightly better last night.
I've cut the ibuprofen back to half what I was taking but still spread through the day. Stayed pain-free yesterday so will keep this up for a few days to see if that continues. I'm using my fitbit to remind me to take it. It does work but is annoying because it is like being tickled so I jump each time it goes off. Will have to remember to carry the pills with me on the weekend since I won't know where I'll be when it is time to take things.
I may be pain free but I'm not free-moving. Still lumber along a lot of the time, especially after standing up. Not sure how well I'll manage on the weekend at Conference because I'm not sure how much lifting/walking/stairs/sitting/standing are involved. I'm working with a young woman so she'll have to do the lion's share of the lifting at the resource centre. There's a fair bit of walking so I'm thinking of taking my poles or a cane but worry they'll be in the way. Won't hurt to toss them in the car so they are there if I need them.
I've tidied the bedroom and laid out clothes for both today and the ordination ceremony on Saturday. Friday will be super hot so I'm wearing a sundress. Saturday I'll wear capris and a top and switch to dress pants and add a blazer for the ceremony (I'm just in the congregation but everyone dresses up for this.) Then jeans in the evening (everyone goes out to the pub that night.) Capris again on Sunday. Home late Sunday afternoon.
Today I'll be reading the Conference schedule so I know what's when and the background material so I'll sound less dense.
My minister wrote this morning, giving me his time-line for the weekend. I wrote back telling him where he's likely to find me over the weekend (resource centre since I'm working there, or with my 'posse' of friends from the Christian Development committee.) He's coming later than me and leaving on Saturday night because he has confirmation class in the afternoon on Sunday and the kids ask such challenging questions he'll need to be well rested! He's learning why I love to hang around with teenage boys. They are really interesting when you give them space to talk.

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
Our trash collection is pushed back by one day this week b/c of the holiday, LadyM. Not sure if that is what's happening where you are - or if all your neighbors are just running late.
Yes, thinking of Dee and family. Praying for peace of mind.
Getting back in the box sounds great, bookie. I'm not even sure where my box is - and I have no doubt my cards need to be revamped.
I hope your movement improves, Kathryn. I'm glad you're pain-free.
Thank you for your comments last night, Harriet. It's hard to know when I write something here whether anyone actually reads and/or processes it. I know I'm very guilty of not keeping up with others' posts well. I often don't have the time. I really appreciated knowing my little window hadn't gone hurtling unheeded into cyber space.
Yes, my parents certainly faced extreme parenting challenges. I don't think the support and help they needed was as available back then as it is today. I do have many happy memories of my childhood, but I also have some dark memories. My mother had some anger issues, so I learned to navigate her temper and my brother's drug addiction and violence by being the good kid and a people-pleaser.
Well, I have been for a jog. It felt good to be moving, although I was moving rather slowly.
While in the car with dh, I was able to talk to him re: meals while I'm out of town, so I know what he needs and can get that groc. trip done today.
I'll leave around 2:35 to catch the bus to payroll. I might need to get in a shopping trip with ds tonight.
I'm off to finish bfast and have a little QT.

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
Morning Y'all...
I'm up early due to a sinus headache. I find if I sit up and let everything drain it tends to ease up and then go away.
I have some laundry to fold and my garden to water and then need to address some desk issues. I bought zoo tickets for sweetie and me and we will go either tomorrow or next week. Day time temps will be cooler this week but the zoo opens at 7 am next week and it might be fun to see the animals in the early morning.
LadyM... I will be helping my friend some time this week to get organized with her kids and also address a behavior problem she's having with one of her sons... She has 5 children. I know you have cards for LO to do in the mornings. Please remind me again how they are set up. Is each card a chore and attached to a ring for LO to flip. My friend and I are going to set up morning and evening routines for each of her children.
Off to drink more coffee and then will start my morning routines. Cya enjoy your day

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
We're home from court with no decision yet. Post more in J&C.
I should get busy and do something but I just don't know what. Need to really work at a list of must do's in the next week. Plan is still to leave next Friday (June 5) morning. It's a hard day to get going. DD is home with me and I know she will not be good at this waiting game. She does have to mail a T ervis Mug and maybe we'll get that done and go mail it.
Guess I'll call dsisil and just tell her I won't be coming over today. -without telling her just why.
Thinking of all those I weather harm's way. Thinking a lot of LadyM and wishing her and hers well as all these storms abound. All those in TX too.
Think I'll simply start "1 thing/1 surface" at a time so I don't have to think about it too much.

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
Also thanking Helia for sharing her childhood and sibling issues with us.
I was up at 8:30 this morning, an improvement over yesterday and have done quite a bit of a.m. routine already. I need to get rolling on that list I made last night.
-desk day (set timer for 25 minutes, then break)
-make the bed
-reboot and fold laundry
-schedule pedicure for me + dd
-reschedule body work, which I had set for Thursday when I am going to visit dsis
Yes, glad to see LadyM posting this morning and good to know she's safe. Does water get into your "hidy-hole" for tornado weather?
Dee, glad to see you staying busy, will mosy over to J&C next.

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
Good morning everyone! I hope you had a good three day weekend. I went on a bike ride with a friend on Sunday and went to a party on Monday (after deliberately sleeping in!). While it is not exactly "the box", I did consolidate and organized all my personal tasks into Team Foundation Server. We use this at work, so I am familiar with it and like it. It is really designed for teams of software developers, but I figured tasks are tasks and I need mine organized! I figured out how to order tasks this morning and have done so.
What must be done during payroll:
What must be done during payroll:
- Email the x about DD's book
- RSVP
- Make gastro appointment
- Make mammo appointment
- Child support paperwork
- Figure out the money order amount for the court

Re: Tuesday BITB for Summer
Good morning.
Helia, I also want to thank you for sharing your experiences growing up in your family of origin. Your story is more common than many would think. Shame and guilt keep these issues hidden and they need to be brought out into the open for healing to occur, both for the addict and for the family who have their own battle. I am so happy that you and your DH have such a wonderful family life with your dear children.
Have a good day, everyone.
