Hope Kathryn has a fabulous day of travel. It's fabulous that Elizabeth's finances are a big woohoo! "Fabulous" that Cathy is hopefully feeling better today. Fabulous that Harriet's dd is having a whirlwind end of year. Just keep your sanity in the process, Harriet. Fabulous that the birthday party for dgd4 turned out so well. Not so fabulous that so many are being subjected once again to flooding waters and all that brings. Stay safe, LadyM. I'm sure there's more fabulous news to comment on but my brain is fading.

I slept through until 5am -so good for me compared to recent days. I'm finally up and dressed. Saw dd just for a few minutes before she left at 6:30. Won't see her tonight -she sees the attorney at 5 so little sense in coming home then. Then at 7 she has show/concert with Chonda Pierce with some friends from work. Also little sense in coming home then. Both times she'd barely walk in the door before it was time to walk out. I could have gone tonight but declined some weeks ago. It'll do dd good to get out and have a good time with friends.

We had Trivia last night. Big surprise for me. Saw someone walking in with a gorgeous cake, then realized it was our very good friend (she calls me "Mom"). Then realized when she set it down it was for me. Later the owner walked over to our table with a gorgeous planter of flowers with a birthday balloon with a card from our team (Something Stupid is our name ) This friend makes beautiful cakes with handmade flowers, etc on top. It also had nestled in the flowers the characters from Cinderella: Gus Gus and Jacques. I love Cinderella from the 50's and am getting quite the collection of items from that. Didn't realize until I started getting pieces (mainly from dd and dh) how much of my heart is there.

Beautiful out this morning -was only 63 in our town but of course it'll rise rapidly. I was thinking it might be a good night for us to run over to Disney until I remembered dd had all this going on tonight.

I'm thinking of Sadie's Fabulous News this week. Happy for her son. Sadie will be beautiful in a mother-of-the-groom dress.

Okay, here's my plan... ... I'm going back to bed. Ya'll be Fabulous for a me a while and I'll take the next shift.

There's a laundry load in the washer (towels) that won't require my attention right now. The child is in care of high school. The email that I do have to admit I saw this morning IS inflammatory but I can deal with fusses later. Let someone who's more alert get irate.

Mid-day dstepson plans to come haul off limbs so even though he won't need me, I hope to be chipper by then.

Later I'll need to find the directions to Government Center and gather something to read/do while I wait on dd.

Need to charge my phone so she and I won't have any trouble communicating.

I think it is Fabulous that I only have a couple more weeks of this 5 alarm thing that is killing me and at least next year school system agrees to 1/2 hour later time. Also will have another driver in family. Wish I could find it in me to conform to 9 bedtime but instead keep finding and losing it. For 3 years. Zzzzzzzz

I could stand to go back and lie down now for a while myself. But I'm afraid I WOULD fall asleep and I have to leave for church shortly after 8.

Exhausting day yesterday, got in around 8:45 tired and achy. In bed at 10 and slept very well, thanks to 1/2 a benydryl.

Today's PODA:
-make challah for temple tonight
-make a dessert for "oneg" at temple tonight
-p/u stamping order and new catalog
-neaten things up for dcleaning lady
-4:30 approx - drop in at friends' for reception for graduating senior (find a card, also)
-6:15 services at temple, should go by earlier if at all possible to drop off dessert and challah
-builder guy is supposed to be here to ck window in ds' room that is leaking, and to caulk/repaint breakfast area window where we had leak. I suspect he may not show up.
-what else?

Reminding self that this is a busy week because it was a short week, I started out behind and used a day of the four days left to see dsis, which took another chunk out of the week. Not every week is like this. Also last week of May - wrapping up for school (i.e. graduation) and to start the summer.

-start challah
-start dessert
-breakfast and meds

Good Morning! It is a fabulous day!

I stayed in bed until my fitbit went over 7 hours. When it posted to the fitbit site and the calculations of wake/sleep time was done, I was a tad bit disappointed. I ended up with 6 hours and 46 minutes of sleep. However, I'm happy to be headed in the right direction. My goal is 7 hours of sleep. I haven't achieved that yet, but I'm getting closer.

We have 2 wet rooms in the house. One isn't from flood water though. After the party yesterday I noticed water on the floor of one of the bathrooms. I assumed there was an accident so I cleaned it up and forgot about it. However, the water returned. I walked into the bathroom this morning and got wet feet. Argh! This room sets on top of a (dry) crawl space so I know it isn't flood water. I need to call a plumber and see what is happening. The other room with wet floor is from flood water (I think). It is the lowest room in the house and flood water did go up about a foot on the outside of that room. I have provided ventilation (door & windows) and have 3 fans blowing in the room. I will re-evaluate the wetness in a few hours.

Today starts the first Vacation Bible School (VBS) of the summer. It is being held in the evening (5:30pm - 8:00pm). I suspect LO, DGD4 and I will attend several VBS at local churches before the summer is over.

Peeking in from the hotel near Syracuse, NY just to let you know we're still alive. Ds just got up. . . He used to be such an early riser, even in high school. Not anymore, apparently. LOL!

I DID find out last night that ds21 (1) had his end date wrong and was off by a week. This is a problem as it conflicts with dd17's last concert at Interlochen camp. I can't pick up ds in Boston on Saturday and be 4-5 hours north of our home by early Sunday afternoon. . . . And (2) apparently the company thinks ds is moving in this Sunday - not Saturday. I'd really like to move in ds and get any shopping done on Saturday so that on Sunday, I can maybe visit a church with him (we have recommendations from friends who used to live in Boston) and get driving asap.

We had an uneventful drive yesterday. It was just slow b/c of: (1) lots of construction, (2) lots of trucks, (3) lots of toll booths, and (4) apparently the speed limit in PA and NY is 65, not 70 as I'm accustomed to. The weather was gorgeous and I think today will be a repeat. I agree, today is going to be a fabulous day!

I've been up myself for a while and have:
- s2sed and done some self-care (still need to do teeth and face)
- had QT
- responded to an inquiry re: cat care for a friend of a friend 2nd week of June

Was going to write some personal greetings (Harriet, I'm so glad you'll be able to sleep again soon. . . Oh, my!) but ds is out of the shower and ready to grab some bkfast and go - so I'm going!

Speaking of plumbing issues had some here too. So I need to finish laundry I had to wait for it to dry out.

Glad the center part of the back yard is looking better now. I noticed my pink roses were looking fabulous today, red one are blooming now too.

I will keep this in mind how to focus on Fri. Being fabulous. I slept in till six went to bed earlier so that helped and I am feeling better today yea! Net is working that is good too.

-brownies for tonight (with marshmallows and icing) are cooling
-challah is going in breadmaker - about 30 min until time to shape and let rise again
-cleaning lady is doing her magic

Once the challah is baking and almost done, I will start another batch of challah in the breadmaker and then go run my errand to p/u stamping order. I think I'll have a bit of downtime this afternoon and then will s2s, take challah and brownies to temple, then circle back to graduation open house. Need to go look for a card....

Hi, ready for my shift. Have put fabric softener in to the laundry and sent that on a rinse cycle. Dealt with part of emails. Time for a shake.

Hmmm... ... no chipping of limbs for me no matter how chipper I am.

Still haven't determined 100% sure where the water came from in one of the rooms. I saw the flood water up on the side of the room but this room also contains a huge (12'x12') spa so the water could be coming from it. Before DH left this morning I requested that he remove the wooden sides of the spa. I don't have a tool that will remove those square screws. Now that I can see all areas of the floor in the room, hopefully I will be able to determine the source of the water on the floor.

The various agencies are working well together (local, state, federal) to limit flood damage. It is a difficult dance they are doing. The lakes are over 100% full which causes flooding to homes around the edges of the lakes. When they open the flood gates on the lake dams then it floods the people downstream. I still find this amound of water a bit unbelievable. One of the lakes had reached 10% and was almost dried up..... now it is over 100%. Two of the biggest local towns had hired a company to seed the clouds this summer in hopes of getting some drought relief. Both towns are now cancelling the cloud seeding contracts. Ya think?!

Besides the many shelters being opened for flood victims, the local, state & federal agencies are also working together to provide free water well testing. They are also setting up sites to give free TB shots. One of the yucky sides of the flooding is the sewer systems. With the multiple flooding of septic tanks and city sewer lines, the release of sewer water is wide spread.
